I think this is going to become a constant in my cupboard. still loving it. It would be amazing iced and sweetened with some milk too!

TeaLady441

And lot of people have posted about this one recently – it sounds really good. Hope it’s in the advent calendar as I want to try it.

Ahhhhhhh this is like those buttered rum lifesavers I loved as a kid, delicious. So glad I got this on a whim.

Calla

One of my faves ( there a many) from David’s Tea. I love brewing this one up in a pot when I need to do some major homework or study session.

Sipdown?

Argggg! This went fast! Me and fruity herbals that I use for iced tea just don’t last long. I drink them faster than I can review the new ones!

I made this one really strong – it was that or 2 weak cups – with german rock sugar and honey. Soo strawberry, little tart and creamy. I might have to get this one again if I do another DavidsTea order. However, I could see myself passing and trying DT’s 2013 new summer herbals lineup instead.

ICED TEA MODE!

And only one serving left after this one.. geeze, that’s been happening a lot lately. Made a big glass of iced tea, chilling out after 2.5 hour jiujitsu workout. What was weird was when I poured the tea into the glass all was well, but I needed a little more water, so I added a bit to the leaves and shook them – which turned cloudy – I forgot there was yogurt bits in this tea!
So, zoning out here, drinking tasty sweetened fruity herbal, looking up cheezburger stuff:

OMG lookit this bunny! http://cheezburger.com/7383951104 soo cute!
and these turtles! http://cheezburger.com/7414817536 Cuuuuute! I like the shark fin one the best!

I’m really low on caffeine free tea, so I made a cup, popping in 4 lumps of rock sugar. Came out really good – sweet strawberry and a little tart rhubarb, not awful tart at all! It was like drinking pie filling! So happy I ordered more, as my husband likes this tea. Totally bumping up this rating.

I was sipping on this tea while I was working on some drawings for my tea blog, http://oolongowl.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/img_2390.jpg a little sneak peek.

Another DT tea my sis snagged for me before visiting me. My husband loves rhubarb in baking. We were planning on having rhubarb pie at our wedding, but it was off season and no rhubarb to be found, fresh, frozen or canned – he was really bummed out and wanted to delay the wedding!

DRY: Super super juicy strawberry! Got me really pumped up!

STEEPED: Lightly juicy strawberry. Everyone in the house is impressed with the berry smell. Very pretty dark red.

TASTE: TARRRRRRRRTTTT! WAHHHHHHHHH! I should of read up on this tea on Steepster before steeping it. This was a hibiscus punch to the face with a rhubarb tart eye gouge thrown in for good effect. My tart o meter almost got knocked out!
I tried sweetening it to make it less angry, still pretty tart – good flavor past the tart, strawberry, rhubarb, bit of creamy. As it cools, less tart and good juicy strawberry flavor. Unless it is still really tart and it blew out my tongue.

COMMENTS: This is just way too tart for me, but this tea has loads of potential. I’m thinking shorter steep time? latte? Iced? more water? Another day.

EDIT: The tea hating husband took a sip and finished my cup! Said it tasted like a strawberry rhubarb cider and wanted more. Finally a tea he likes!

I’m thinking probably tons of sweetener and iced with cut alot of the tart. If you got german rock sugar that might work with it nicely. And iced I mean brewed hot then cooled down. maybe try it as a shake? been thinking of trying tea shakes lately.

Angrboda

Well, they did load it with hibiscus. Rhubarb really is very nice in tea, I particularly like it in green tea. It tastes all pink and girly then. Without hibiscus or beetroot or rosehip or carrot or whatever else sort of filler you can think of.

drank Cookie Dough by DAVIDsTEA

Probably the first dessert tea I’ve enjoyed! I initially wanted to try Vanilla Orchid but once I smelt this one I had to take it home! I tried it as a take out today and I asked for a little bit of agave and it was just perfect. It really does smell like cookie dough! Taste wise, it reminds me of chocolate chip cookies, which is very awesome. YUM.

I’ll likely add this onto my shelf. :D

The Glow is a tea I had first purchased just because the description and ingredients appealed to me. At first, I regretted my decision, as it didn’t do much for me. But as my taste for tea developed, I started really appreciating The Glow for its refreshing, spicy yet light floral goodness. Some people say it tastes just like apple pie, but I taste the floral notes very well. It’s the kind of tea I go for around 4-5pm, when I feel it’s too late for caffeine yet needs an infusion to ease my tea hunger! It’s soothing and I can now appreciate the subtlety of its flavour.

I used 1.75 David’s Tea Scoops of dry leaf in my Aqua-Ovo tea tumbler.

Has a sweet, rounded flavour. Taste reminds me of icing and vanilla extract. Flavour is bordering on being fruity. Smooth light nutty taste.

Creaminess present on second infusion.

Also had Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait today!

This herbal infusion is not for the weak of heart (like my boyfriend, haha!) Its tart flavour is very present, and even becomes too strong if you steep it more than 4-5 minutes. Still, when you pour it into your cup and glance at that beautiful, lovely-smelling red liquid, it warms your heart on a cold November day like little other teas. The rhubarb is very well balanced with the strawberry, but I might have enjoyed even more creaminess than it already has. The hibiscus adds a welcome floral layer once the tartiness has subdued a little.

I enjoyed it, but because of the strong tartness my boyfriend didn’t like it so much, so this is not going in my tea cupboard.

drank Checkmate by DAVIDsTEA

Smooth black tea flavour present in the background. Coconutty roasted sweetess at the forefront of the taste. Light sweetness of the chamomile trailing into the aftertaste. Possibly hints of white tea peeking out but the other flavours are quite robust and take over. Near the end of the sip gives a taste reminiscent of chocolate with the leathery black mixing with the coconut.

Rating: 84

Second infusion at 5 minutes, flavour still coming through quite nicely.

Black tea predominant at the end of the sip- leathery taste, reminds me of the musty smell of a barn. I think that the coconut comes out most on the aftertaste and gives sweetness throughout. The white tea seems to be coming in closer to the beginning of the sip. The chamomile sweetness is mostly present in the after taste with a sticky-sweet feeling.

For the second infusion (5 minutes), the black tea taste is subdued and the flavour of the brew takes on a somewhat creamy feel.

this one sounds wonderful !
(I love your avatar Raritea, so cute!)

Raritea

This one had a very interesting taste profile. Definitely one that I would recommend trying!

Glad that you like my avatar! I wasn’t sure what to choose so I picked something to show my appreciation for one of my favorite television shows. Unicorns drinking tea; how incredibly wonderful is that?

Had Banana Dream Pie today at my local DT. I’m no tea expert (yet!) but I can tell this is a really tasty tea. I added a little bit of agave nectar and milk (the boyfriend has not acquired the tea taste yet, so I always need to have it milkier, and sweeter) and it did taste like it says it does: banana cream pie! My only complaint is that once the tea starts cooling down, it’s downhill from there. It’s a tea that really needs to be drank hot!

Adding this to my shopping list to alternate with DT’s Birthday Cake as my evening dessert tea :3

drank Pink Flamingo by DAVIDsTEA

The dry leaf smells exactly like grapefruit. I love grapefruit, so this should be good.

Steeped it a long time…don’t know how long. I had it going while I was finishing up another cup. The colour is a dark pink and looks nice in my glass cup.

This is my favorite out of the three fruity herbals I got to try last week, but I still find myself longing for some Kanpe. The taste is tart straight, I think it would be great iced. WAIT I COULD RESTEEP IT OVER ICE! Runs to kitchen and puts tea back in steeper

Omg so much better. I added a hint of honey to my DavidsTea Steeper, and now it tastes exactly like starbucks passion iceteas. Will not longer be drinking hot, it just isn’t as good.

Boiling 8 min or more

Yay great minds think alike ;) no more expensive starbucks for me. Just this tea

Calla

I’ve tried this one before and it tasted too exotic for me. I should try it again

Sweet Canadian

I was unimpressed with it hot Calla, it was so much better once I cooled it down. Cedes, Tuesday my friend and I are going to mix Kanpe and Pink Flamingo because we think that will be spot on with the strength of the Passion Ice Tea :)

Calla

yeahhh I tried making it iced…. I still have some of this tea, so I shall try again.

Daisy Chubb

mm so SO good iced!

Mmmmm yummy! I’m not a huge mint fan, but I do love coconut, the coconut adds a rich creaminess to this tea! It reminds me of those pastel mints that you can get around christmas time! I only got 25g of this tea to start, but I will be ordering more very soon!

The first time I made this one I thought it tasted like watery banana. Not good. My friend recommended that I steep in longer, so I tried.

It tastes like a banana chocolate milkshake! It’s pretty good, if you like Banana and chocolate you will love it. I personally still like CCC the best from the winter collection. SO EXCITED FOR THE HOLIDAY COLLECTION THIS WEEK!!

mmmm i melted a mini halloween sized jersey milk bar into it. it tastes like these chocolate bars from croatia that our baba would give us as kids.. they were ultimately banana marshmallow covered in dark chocolate… davids captured that exact flavour!

Earl Grey has always been one of my last choices of tea. But when I took one smell of this tea, I thought I would try it. Well, this tea has now become one of my favorites. When I am not sure what I am in the mood for, this tea is always the one I am grabbing. I like the subtle vanilla flavor, and it tastes even better with a splash of cream.

drank Pumpkin Chai by DAVIDsTEA

I tried this tea last week at my friends house, without adding any milk, sugar, honey or agave. It was pretty good, but i couldn’t really taste the pumpkin as much as i could smell it. I think there needs to be more pumpkin and less chai flavours. But thats just me.

I am not usually into fruity teas. I am more of a spicy, nutty lover. But this tea has changed my mind. It doesn’t have an overpowering fruity taste, which I love, yet it tastes just like blueberry jam. So good and it has me wanting to try more fruity teas!

Nik

I’m not much for fruity teas, either, and also prefer the spicy, nutty blends. For me it’s just really weird to drink something fruity hot. I’ve tried a few, and I think all of my tasting notes say something like, “this was great, I’d love to try it iced.”

drank Toasted Walnut by DAVIDsTEA
12 tasting notes

Just tried this tea the other day in store, thought that even though it had an ugly green colour that the taste was very flavourful and tasted like walnuts. I also was surprised that it didn’t taste like green tea to me, it kinda reminded me of David’s Tea flavour “Forever Nuts”, if you have every tried and liked that flavour then you definatley need to check out Toasted Walnut.

The last of my free samples from David’s…prepped at the below parameters with a splash of milk.

The dry leaf smell is INTENSE chocolate. The darkest kind of chocolate which is fine with me because I love dark chocolate. And also, something else…it’s vaguely spicy but I don’t necessarily think spicy. If anything it’s got kind of a chemically smell that I’m not fond of and I hope doesn’t have any say in the final taste.

Uh, yeah. It does. At first you are kind of sidetracked with the dark chocolate, which I think the milk nicely complements, and then you get slammed with something… I’ll go with chemically and medicinal. It’s pinging some kind of taste memory, but I can’t quite place it. Ugh. After it goes from chocolate, to yuck, there’s that pepper burn that is only slight and fits with the whole chai motif.

I’m not going to be able to finish this one. The beginning and end of the sip are fine, but that middle part totally drops the ball and ruins it for me. Again – uuuuugggghhh. I’ll be back shortly with a different tea once I rinse toss this. :(
