Ok so my Davids FINALLY got this back in stock. I had been trying to buy some for over a month, first at the family and friends sale, second with a few gift cards I got for christmas. I’m so happy its back though, this is by far my favorite straight tea!

I’ve been drinking it a lot since then. It is buttery and sweet, with a slight sourness as well. My hubby actually likes it too, which is great because oolong is a nice tea to drink straight. I have a tin of it now so I think it will be a regular everyday tea for us from now on.

Another tea that I discovered via the just the leaf promotion that is happening right now. I will probably never buy this one as it is so expensive. Maybe a little bit. Oolongs are economical because you get so many steeps out of them, but at the same time they are so expensive. I have a love/hate relationship with oolong. Saying that, I loved both the oolongs in the advent calendar last year. Note to self, get more oolong.

I really love this tea. It is naturally sweet, smooth, and delicious. If you get a chance before Thursday get yourself a cup for $1, they will give you the leaves and you can take them home for more brewing pleasure. Not bitter at all.

To me, this tea tastes like forever nuts, but with apple and cinnamon. I enjoy it when its cold out because it is a nice fruity tea, but the almond and coconut add depth to it. This is what a fruit tea should definitely be like in the winter! nice and balanced!

This tea was too mapley for me. It basically tasted like Oh Canada!, I was not impressed.

Out of all of the ‘cake collection’ this was my favorite. Unfortunately, I made myself a bit sick of it as it is a sweeter, heavier tea, and it came out when it was cold outside, so I was drinking a lot of it hot. It is really good, but doesn’t taste that much like ice cream cake!

This is a lovely tea served hot. Sometimes I will mix it with a little bit of any chocolate tea and it tastes like an after eight mint. Without chocolate, it tastes just like the filling. Its delicious!

Every now and again, I hoard a tea, I hoard it so whole heartedly that when the time comes, the brew tastes wonderful. I hoarded about 400g of this tea. When they broke up their summer kits that summer, i bought every single 25g bag of it they had to offer. I filled my tin at summer’s end, etc etc. I love this tea so much.
Anyways, a few weeks ago i got to chatting with the guy working at davids and we got talking about this tea… i told him i’d bring him some because he also loved it and was becoming nostalgic for it, and i totally get that feeling haha… so i brought it to him. Fast forward to last week, I go back in and he dead stops and tells me how he made it a teapop… he said the vanilla and pear work perfectly with the fizz, and this is how it is meant to be served… so i brought some more in and tried it… and oh my god.. he was right… after drinking it as a teapop.. i don’t know that i’ll feel the same about it as a hot tea, or even an iced tea… it was pure magic.. if anyone has any left, i dare you to try it!

i have about 75 grams left.. they should have a back from the dead contest for halloween.. although i doubt many people would want to bring it back.. it wasn’t a very highly rated tea… they should bring it back next summer as part of a favorites collection.. it would work well with marketing tea pops..

This tea was my go-to tea of the summer. I drank it hot, and iced. My store ran out before I got more, but they disassembled their ‘summer collection’ boxes and I bought all the perfect pear they had. It is a wonderful tea. If it is steeped too long it gets quite tart, but only if it is steeped in hot water. I find if I cold steep it, it doesn’t get to that bitter/tart point whatsoever.

….. weird… just weird…. I liked the cherry flavour, and the black tea was nice, it was a strong blend… but there is just something about this tea that is strange. To me, it did not taste like cherry cola.

This tea was weird hot, and really weird cold. That being said, I steeped it in some soda water, and thoroughly enjoyed it….. root beer without the calories and sugar!

This was a really interesting tea. It tasted like berry oatmeal to me. I had it hot and enjoyed it. I never did try it iced, as it literally flew off the shelves and my store never did seem to re-stock it. I don’t think I had it enough to really even remember what I liked and didn’t like specifically about it.

I only like this tea iced. The apple flavour is quite nice. I usually find with apple teas the taste is quite fake. I have only gotten this one as a single serve tea, and likely won’t be adding it to my collection. I feel like its a nice summer treat.

I love this tea. I got it iced, throughout the summer, as it was a nice cooling treat. I bought several tins of it in anticipation of them taking it off the shelves, but they have kept it as a permanent tea!. I find the flavours compliment one another perfectly, nothing overpowering the others. I have recently tried it hot and love it just as much. I will definitely be keeping this tea in my collection.

I did not like this tea at all. I was excited a tea was coming out that was specifically pineapple flavoured, but was very disappointed when trying it. I found that the floral notes coming from the oolong really overpowered the pineapple flavour. I think if the pineapple had of been stronger, or the oolong was less strong it would have been a winner, but sadly I could not finish my bag of this.

I love cocoa canela. I especially love it iced… its okay hot too, but its a beautiful pick me up on a summer morning. I think how it is sweet with a little bit of spice. I think that’s one of the downfalls of chocolate rocket for me. Its just a little bit too sweet to drink as a go to. I kept getting to go cups last summer of this one and never picked up any for my stash. I went in there on Friday and they had the 25g bags 2 for 5 dollars. I was so excited to see that, so I picked up enough of them to ensure that i’d have a bit on hand to get me through the first couple of weeks of working full time day shifts at eight am!

I like this one. I prefer chocolate chili chai, but this one is a nice substitute while chocolate chili chai is gone. I do prefer the energy this one gives me however, I had one cup of it and it gave me a energy boost that lasted me an entire day of work. Its not as heavy of a tea as the chocolate chili chai, but I found that steeping it a bit longer than reccomended really helped to enhance the flavour.

This tea was very weak. No matter how long I steeped it. I even tried to make a latte thinking it might be better suited for that. I was wrong, once I added the tea to the almond milk, the flavour was completely lost. I am quite disappointed because this could have been an excellent tea. I had the smore’s tea from teaopia last year and it was brilliant, I only wish this one had of compared.

I was stuck in the same predicament: when Teaopia went under new management I lost my smore’s tea and I’ve been looking for a replacement- this will not be it! Did you ever find something similar to smore’s by Teaopia??

This tea was okay hot. I preferred it cold because it is quite sweet. I did not need to add sweetener to it and I had to steep it for a long time to get it to the strength that I like. I will probably buy this again as a single-serve, but I doubt I will make it a regular in my collection.

This tea captures the exact taste of what I feel a strawberry-rhubarb pie should taste like! it is quite tart but then the subtle notes of strawberry come through. Everytime I drink this tea I like to eat graham crackers, to get the full effect of strawberry-rhubarb pie.

I’ll admit… when this was previewed in the fall, I was hesitant because out of their cake teas, the only one I felt Davids really got right was ‘ice cream cake’. I thought that this would have that sickeningly sweet taste that the birthday cake had, or the weakness that the chocolate cake one had (because red velvet is chocolatey as well). I didn’t pick it up before Christmas, but I got a little bit recently. I am pleasantly suprised. There is no stevia in it, so there is no sickening, sweetness to it. The beetroot makes it steep up a wonderful red colour. The different chocolates work to compliment one another, and they are strong enough for me… which says a lot.. because I generally have to oversteep a lot of teas to get it to my preference. Unlike their other chocolate teas this one stands well, and will definitely become a go-to treat on my tea shelf.

I really liked this one. I tried all of the teas in the ‘cake’ collection that came out previously, and I only really liked the ice cream cake one. This one would have been a better one to have in that collection I think, rather than the chocolate cake. To me it is quite chocolatey, but has fruity undertones which had depth to the flavour. My only problem with this tea was it drastically stained my glass mug. It took awhile to get it back to normal, but other than that it was a nice tea.

Picked up a 5 gram sample of this tea for a dollar on my most recent visit to David’s. Steeped for just over four minutes. Rich, yet subdued. Definitely has a forest-y taste. Has a lovely amber/golden liqueur.

edit: Tried my second cup with some agave nectar, and I’ve gotta say it kind of took away from the tea. This is one to drink black for sure.

this tea tastes like incredibly juicy chocolate covered strawberries. There is a delicious black tea taste underneath though that makes this amazing all the way down. I generally can’t handle rose petals in tea but this one I don’t even taste them. I suspect they might come out more when it’s iced. A great late morning, early afternoon pick me up!

oversteeped this one (i’m siiiick and distracted) and it is way more licoricey than usual. Not unpleasant just different. I think I’ll stick to my five minute steeps from now on.
