I love the smell of this tea. LOVE IT!

But, I’ve always found myself wanting more from it. It’s a bit underwhelming in the cup, honestly. It feels a bit thin, and when/ if I add milk, it becomes almost watery. And this is even after steeping it for a long time. Like 10mins long. I’ve varied the steep time all over the map and have found the same every time.

I decided that after several cups didn’t live up to the glorious smell, I would start messing around a bit. I crushed up two cinnamon sticks, and added them to my remaining 25g. If I thought it smelled great before, this was pure heaven! I am a fan of spicy teas, and adding a bit of cinnamon kick to this one enhanced the scent of the chocolate, and brought out the heat from the chillies. Brewed, it had more body, and didn’t fade away when I added milk. Seriously delicious.

So, I still feel “meh” about the tea itself, but with a little home improvement, it has become one of my favourite dessert teas.

Got my new order from David’s today. So excited. I didn’t realize I ordered so many herbals. So this one was the first one I decided to try. And I am not dissapointed. I have left the tea in my steeping mug and it has gone from a really sweet tea to a nice bit of a sour taste as it has continued to steep and cool off some. I can see this one becoming a favourite.
Can’t wait to try it iced.

WOW. This tea is CRAZY. I couldn’t resist picking up a bag of Movie Night after smelling it at David’s Tea. It smells EXACTLY like buttered popcorn. I wasn’t sure how the flavour would come out in terms of taste, but it had me at the smell.

Well the taste was just as good as the smell! It really does taste like buttered popcorn, with hints of sweet notes from the apple and maple. Yes, it sounds strange, and if you smell it, you’d probably think the same. But, it really does work as a tea! You get the guilt free taste of popcorn in the form of a delicious tea!

I definitely recommend this tea for those looking for something new and exciting to try. A worthwhile step away from the normal!

I love fresh strawberies, but I hate artificially flavored strawberry foods. I took a gamble when I orderd this tea. I’ve never sipped a strawberry tea that tasted remotely like the real thing…until today. This is a strawberry tea I can definatly recomend.

Bamboo leaves make for a mellow tea base, and the sweet strawberries are complimented by a firey kiss of pink peppercorns. The pink peppercorns with their slight citrus flavor add to the pleasing fruity flavor with a tiny bit of heat. I drank my first cup of this tea hot because it’s gloomy out today, but I bet it will taste even better iced.

I’ve never had this tea hot, but I think that it’s perfect iced. Considering that its got rooibos in it, which is supposed to be a good alternative to sports drinks, this is my ‘after-workout’ go to. I usually just put double the amount of tea in a tea bag, tie it off, and let it sit in the tea pitcher overnight. That being said, the flavor is much stronger the next day, than it was when I first made it. I don’t get too much raspberry out of it, more of the rooibos flavor, but I’m ok with that. I don’t know if I’ll try this hot or not…

drank Black Needles by DAVIDsTEA

Just bought this tea from DavidsTea. I had a hard time deciding which straight black tea I wanted. I usually like dark musky black teas that can stand with a little milk and sugar. I even did a little taste test with my favorite black tea. Copper Knot from Teavana. I brewed both for 3 minutes, same amount of water and same temp. The Black needles had a sweet smell, and very light color like scotch. It had a smooth honey taste, no astringency from it .

I have been drinking it without milk or sugar, its that smooth. love it

This morning I added some frozen raspberries to this and it was even better. Kind of hard to suck raspberries up the straw but still really good.

Had this tea iced last night. My husband is not a tea fan. He will tolerate it but mostly because he is too lazy to make himself coffee and I am making tea at night. (he will make his coffee in the morning) He does however love Nestea Iced Tea. It is what he drinks all summer (except beer after ball of course)

I used twice the amount of tea as per David’s directions and poured the tea over ice. Then once it had cooled a little I added 1/3 lemonade to 2/3 tea. I also added some simple syrup to hubbies. When he drank it he said it was better than the Nestea he loves and he looks forward to drinking it all summer. i also really enjoyed it.

Now I just need an iced tea pitcher so I can make it without using so many tea leaves.

drank Creme Caramel Rooibos by DAVIDsTEA

Well, the world didn’t end yesterday so that’s good. What isn’t so good is this tea. I’m a David’s Tea fan girl in general, but this tea left me wanting. Also, I suspect I’m a terrible vegan for even trying it. Creme Caramel with caramel bits in it almost defiantly has a dairy component, but in my tea mania I wasn’t even considering that. Six years vegan and I can still make a stupid mistake.

As a rooibos it tasted fine as all David’s Teas are high quality in my opinion, but I didn’t get much of a caramel flavor from it at all. It certainly didn’t provide as rich dessert tea and that was what I wanted. As I suspect it’s not vegan anyway, I won’t be trying it again. I have a nearly full 50g pouch if anyone wants it.

I know there is an ingredients page somewhere on the DT site, though I can’t find it. But, at the bottom of this page is a list of which teas contain dairy products that might be helpful in the future! http://www.davidstea.com/faq

Jenn

Yeah, there are always simple ways to avoid silly decisions. I loose all sense of reason when I’m in a tea ordering frenzy. Lesson learned… (It’ll totally happen again). Thank you for the link.

Jenn

I’m confused too. There is a list of teas that would seem to contain dairy on the David’s Tea website, but then under the list there’s a caveat saying that the dairy is only in trace amounts. I’m not concerned about trace amounts of dairy from shared equipment, so I would still consider drinking the teas’s on that list if they don’t have a deliberate dairy component. Oh well, at least we don’t have to agonize over this one :)

nomadinjeopardy

Oh, I can relate. I forget about things like disliking ginger when I’m in a tea frenzy.

I really liked this one when I first started frequenting DT, but quickly tired of it. Like you said, roobios is the predominant flavour and it’s not what you want from this tea.

Faith

I’ll take it, if you still have it!

veronica

If you haven’t given it away yet, I’d love to try it!

hiya jenn! for commiseration, i too am vegan and STILL bought this tea AND the birthday cake tea. i had teahead! i was not being reasonable. (teahead says, ‘but it’s like having a teeny tiny 1/12 piece of milk chocolate at MOST!’ arg!)
