Yum yum yum! Finally at my desk, I rushed here from an 8:00 appointment to make a 9:30 who cancelled and now I get to focus on making my TO DO LIST and planning my week (reserving meeting rooms, setting up businesses to meet with, seeing how many more clients I can meet with). I would usually hate doing this, but I had an AWESOME bath last night and I’m feeling refreshed. We also have an all day retreat tomorrow and losing that one day is making me work harder. We should lose one day every week.
Anyway, so this was originally one of my favorites from Della Terra but after trying so many other teas, I would say this is in my top 5 from Della Terra but not overall. I get the pumpkin and I get a little chocolate, but not quite as flavorful as I’d like.
It’s technically a holiday but since I’m not salaried I had the option to come in today and not use my time off. SO here I am!! Drinking tea, singing, and just doing online job searches (I work as an employment counselor, so this counts as direct service :p).
This was my 3rd cup today, as always, LOVE it. You can read the other tasting notes for it, I just wanted to log that I drank it.
I’m obsessed with this tea and I’m guessing the only reason I haven’t logged it is because I’m savoring every teaspoon of it. This is the perfect cinnamon and nutmeg pumpkin spice with a subtle and not overtly strong chocolate that balances nicely to create a decadent creaminess to the tea. This is dessert, literally. And the little sprinkles are killing me with cuteness. I need epic amounts of this in my stash.
Backlog and making sure I rate and review everything in my cupboard. I got this as a sample from Della Terra and this was also my first pu-erh tea ever. At first, the smell really turned me off but the flavor was enjoyable. I tried again a week later after going through a bunch of other tastings and found that I love this. The chai spice is warm and cozy, plenty of cinnamon and cardamom without being painfully spicy, and the chocolate is so well balanced with the spice. No artificial chocolate flavor at all. I’m still a little weirded by the smell, but maybe it’s a pu-erh thing so I’m really interested in trying more pu-erh teas.
At first I thought this was too medicinal for me, but I let it brew a little longer and the flavors I wanted came out! Brewed, it smells like a hot spiced apple cider. It tastes like a cinnamon apple sauce but with a creaminess to it from the yogurt. I would let it cool a bit before drinking to get the optimum flavors from it. Not my favorite, but I will definitely enjoy this as a bedtime tea!!
I haven’t been on very much over this weekend due to a few family issues, nothing serious just a lot of negativity surrounding my husband. We were supposed to be decorating the house today for Christmas to start feeling the spirit but that hasn’t happened. Since it’s such a shame the house is the same and I’m watching Christmas episodes on tv I thought I may as well drink Christmassy.
I chose the right choice with this tea, I opened it up and took a sniff and smiled and closed my eyes in delight. It smells like creamy vanilla peppermint with a chocolate base. Delicious! My husband saw me sniffing and came to see what the fuss was about and even he said he wants one.
Tasting without milk/creamer or sweetener. Wow it’s simply amazing! Just as it smells, smooth and refreshing peppermint with creamy and fresh. It tastes like a candy cane but with more layers, not just the peppermint. The chocolate is more in the fragrance than taste as is the black tea but it gives more depth in flavour without much of the flavour. It’s so delicious!
This is just what I need right now. Christmas in a mug.
Preparation
SIPDOWN – reading about all the new chocolate vday teas from Della Terra made me want to drink up my last cup of this! Not as much chocolate in this cup I don’t think, but still tastes very good! Now if I can sip down enough teas, maybe I will treat myself to some of the new blends from Della Terra. Hehe :) see previous notes on this tea!
Preparation
This was the free sample I received from Della Terra Teas. Thank you!
The dry smell is incredibly chocolatey, exactly like After Eight mints :D as soon as I opened it, I was craving it all afternoon, so I made a cup tonight. It’s a bit late for a black tea, but I couldn’t resist after the intoxicating chocolate smell!
The wet leaves are not quite as chocolate, but the mint becomes more pronounced. I steeped for about 3 minutes with boiling water. The chocolate returned after steeping, and now the apartment smells like it haha. My boyfriend is not a fan of chocolate, so he is not overly pleased lol, but I made him a cup of green tea to counteract it a bit. I love it! It reminds me of dark cocoa on a ski hill!
As for the taste, the intial one was nice and minty, with a hint of dark chocolate. I decided to add some sugar (I never add sugar!) as I had read a few reviews that said that it brought out the chocolate. I agree that it did! It’s now a malty dark chocolate brew with an excellent cooling mint taste. I might try steeping a little bit longer next time to see if I can bring out even more chocolatiness.
Overall, a pretty good chocolate tea. I might also try with a hint of milk to add some creaminess to it. Very happy I got to try this as a free sample :)
Preparation
I also like this one a lot, smells divine! Makes it a good Christmas tea! I’m loving pretty much everything I’m trying from Della Terra so far…
I just ordered more of this, to take advantage of the sale and satisfy my craving. I just love this! As it brews, you’re treated to a wonderful caramel marshmallow aroma – and it tastes just as good as it smells. Love the little sprinkles (of course) and the gold pearls (also, of course). I left this steeping longer than I would’ve normally as I got called away, but when I returned this still tasted awesome.
Awesomeness, that sums up Della Terra Teas! :)
The second tea I’ve tried from Della Terra Teas. Again I love marshmallow and sprinkles, so of course I would love this.
As it’s brewing, OMG – it makes my knees weak!
The taste is amazing too – marshmallow-y and total happy. The sugar sprinkles are a nice touch too (of course). Not sure if I like this more than the Cinnamon Crackle but it’s definitely HAPPY!
Azzrian Thanks!
This one is pretty tasty! I like that it has black tea AND rooibos! The blueberry is plump and juicy and real. There is just that little bit of cream or vanilla flavor that makes you realize it’s more than just Blueberry! It’s fruity yet smooth! The very best part, for me, is NO HIBISCUS! YAY!
DAVIDsTEA has the Blueberry Jam blend that is hibiscus free and really delicious as well. I personally haven’t had a blueberry with hibiscus but from the tea’s I have had with it I don’t think it would really fit well.
Hello one of my faves, Miss Cinna Crackle! I really do enjoy this tea and hope it returns in the fall. In the meantime, I think I might need to stock up… and it’s my bday next week so I should treat myself anyway!
This really is an Aries tea too – spicy and feisty!
Please see other notes; this is one of my cupboard essentials.
I just ordered it since it’s 40% off! I can’t wait to try it. (You know it’s being discontinued for awhile, right?) Time to stock up!
It’s sold out. Boo. I’ll have to wait until the fall again…but I have plenty of other teas to keep me company.
Shoot! I just ordered mine yesterday. Just in time too. I was going to wait (I’ve never had it before) but the price and fear of never getting to try forced my hand. I LOVE hot tamales, cinnamon bears, redhots and of course pop rocks so I can’t wait to try it :-)
This is quickly becoming my tea choice of the morning. It’s bold, brisk and spicy – everything you’d want in an AM cuppa. Yum! Please see other notes; this is a fave.
It’s the first day in a very long time that I haven’t had a migraine. Whoo-hoo! That means I can go to work and feel productive, like a human.
I celebrated with this tea. This is easily one of the best cinnamon teas I’ve ever had, and one of my all-time overall fave teas. It’s a cupboard staple. I wish more cinnamon teas could be like this one! :)
And it’s only partly because of the Pop Rocks… ;)
Ugggg, I used to suffer from migraines often. I’m grateful that part of my life is over (As long as don’t eat any of the foods that caused them).
I’m glad your feeling better!
I’m torn – is this my fave Della Terra Tea or is Eight Candles?! I can’t decide. Regardless, this is a cupboard essential. If you love cinnamon, this is your tea. I used to be able to stand Bigelow’s Cinnamon Stick, but after having this, I say, “Where is my cinnamon, b**ch!” ;)
The Pop Rocks just make it that much more, well, rockin’!
I purchased this in my recent Della Terra Teas order. Well, technically, I didn’t – I forgot it, but I called them and they added it to my order. Yay! Love great customer service!
This tea is tied with Eight Candles as my fave Della Terra Tea. I love anything cinnamon and the Pop Rocks just makes the flavor that much more rockin’.
I actually wrote a short story in college that included a tea cafe in which the owners added cinnamon to every dish. Yeah, I love it that much. :) The tea cafe was just a setting, not integral to the story, but I’ve always wanted to add it to a future story. What was it called? Cinnamon’s! Of course!
This is my first official Della Terra Teas tea – and what an awesome inaugural blend! I love anything cinnamon, so of course I would love something called Cinnamon Crackle – complete with every 80’s child’s fave candy, Pop Rocks. ;) This is in-your-face cinnamon, cinnamon to the max – and this is a cupboard staple.
I gulped down one cuppa and could reinfuse for a second time, so even better.
Now I see why all you Steepsterites love Della Terra Teas – great prices but quality tea!
Also, I should note, this is sweet enough on its own (probably because of the candy).
It’s love at first sip. Cinnamon Crackle, I cannot live without you. You complete me.
