Just logging that I’m drinking it…at the bottom of the cup right now and I definitely feel the spice!! Warming, especially good for Vermont winters :)

Drank this yesterday, I enjoyed a cup before I visited family for Thanksgiving but didn’t really pay close attention to the flavors. I ordered this because I liked Azteca Fire from Teavana. Della Terra’s is way better, the flavor is a subtle smooth chocolate and the chili is wonderful!! I love that you can actually taste the chili instead of just feeling it like with Azteca Fire.

I usually brew a full pot of tea when I get home from work everyday, and I would love to make a pot of this, but I actually think it may be too spicy for me to drink that much of it. But it is definitely a fun tea, would probably suppress your appetite or be a good after dinner tea.

Sipdown! 809.

Yep, still enjoy this one; one of the better chocolate teas I’ve had, although I personally find a plain chocolate tea kind of boring. Chocolate hazelnut?? That sounds much tastier! (Someone make a chocolate hazelnut tea?? Stacy??)

Threw some of this in a travel mug yesterday because I was in a hurry and wanted a tasty flavoured black, but didn’t want to finish off anything (and I had enough of this left to still leave a cup’s worth). I don’t honestly remember thinking too much about it as I drank it, but I finished it, and it was good. Tasted much like the chocolate base of many of Della Terra’s teas, minus any of the additional ingredients that make them extra delicious.

Wowwwww. Chocolate. The only problem here is that the mouthfeel isn’t thick enough! This is definitely the most chocolatey tea I’ve had, though. Unfortunately, I think I’m all tea-d out tonight, so it’s not sitting well in my stomach. Consequence of it being, oh, 4am…

Oh, gotta compare this to DavidsTea’s Chocolate Cake. Bonus here is the lack of gross sprinkles, however!

ETA: This is undeniably better than Chocolate Cake in one major aspect: when cooled, it does not become a disgusting, grungy mess of luckiness and sprinkle bits. Flavourwise it may also be superior, but the lack of ick is a major, major plus.

ETA again: Second infusion isn’t bad. It smells delicious, but something’s a bit off about the flavour. It could certainly be that it sat for a day or two before the second infusion, so I’ll have to be a bit quicker with it next time! After this, however, the leaves didn’t even smell chocolatey anymore, so I threw them out.

This tisane is for maple lovers only! Seriously! If you don’t like maple, don’t even bother. Because this is – essentially – a thinned maple syrup.

YUM!

This is a yummy, warm, maple-y delicious rich cup. It is sweet and I’m loving every sip. But really, unless you’re mad about maple, you really shouldn’t bother with it, because it is almost like pure maple syrup, only thinner.

ETA: I forgot to mention when I was writing this, because I was so caught up in all its maple-y goodness … don’t forget to enter in the Della Terra Teas contest that’s going on at our blog right now: http://sororiteasisters.com/2012/11/23/the-season-of-giveaways-take-2/ But you better hurry … time’s running out!

Haha that’s totally what I thought :)

WOW!!!! I’d love to try this

I’ll be sure to add some to your ongoing box!

You’ve reminded me to order some maple tea; hopefully I will. Thanks!

This sounds delish!

Must try. I love maple!

My third time drinking this tea and still no sign of coconut or chocolate. I guess I should give up trying to taste those 2 flavors and accept this as an almond tea. I really wanted to love it like I do Eight Candles and Candy Cane.

In other news, IT’S THURSDAY. And in my world of working on Sundays means it’s my last workday of the week. Yay!! On to Ikea and sewing projects this weekend.

gmathis

What will you be sewing? (I’m somewhat inept and haven’t done much but mending for years, but I come from a pretty unbreakable multi-generation strain of quilter DNA.)

Em

I’m making a purse as a Christmas gift for a friend. Sewing is a new hobby for me. My mother is teaching me. We’ve made 3 purses and a Kindle cover since our journey began. I find joy in the creative process. We don’t use patterns :)

gmathis

I do paper crafting instead of sewing these days. What gets the creative buzz going is matching up the colors and prints (ooh! that stripy stuff just fits with…). Which, when you think about it, is what our mothers and grandmothers were doing with those fabric scraps.

Em

What sort of paper crafts? That sounds like fun!

2nd cup of this tea and still struggling to find the chocolate or the coconut. This tastes very similar to the almond teas I’ve tried before. While it’s a good flavored almond tea, I was looking forward to the blend of coconut and chocolate with it. I enjoy it so I’ll rate it well, but I’m a bit disappointed.

So this tea? It’s pretty delicious, but it’s too sweet for me. It really is like a cup of maple syrup, dilluted down a bit. I also sometimes wish Della Terra would get rid of the colourful candy bits they put into their teas. They often don’t add to the flavour and just mess up my brewing baskets.

If you enjoy maple syrup and sweet teas though, this is a good tea. Just a bit much for me :)

SIPDOWN!

I brewed the last of this cold to see if there was any improvement to the way this tastes and it’s better by leaps and bounds. That being said, it’ not enough to raise my rating of it since it’s not particularly “berry” tasting and only tastes good when it’s cold. Not to mention that my other half says it tastes like tiajuana flats "half sweet and half unsweetened tea’ that we get whenever we’re in florida lol

Preparation
Iced 8 min or more

Bumped up the rating on this one a little since adding a bit more tea that usual produced an improved cup. Same story with other della terra teas for me. Enjoyed it but not enough to keep it in my cupboard :)

yeah…think i’m going to have to stick with my plan to try this cold. While it’s not a BAD tea…the flavour is just kind of in the middle without a real discernible strong taste one way or the other. I wouldn’t turn my nose at a cup of this again…but i don’t think i’d order it again either if i was looking for a fruity tea.

First Review? Backlogging from the weekend so I’ll be posting another of these again. What i recall from this tea though, that it was a nice fruity tea blend. I would also really like to try this cold sometime :)

drank Orange Brulee by Della Terra Teas

SIPDOWN! and i’m behind on those now i’m sad to say. I’m back up to 235 after a couple of 52 teas showed up today via my tea mule. An order from the end of May so i can’t much complain but i was making such good progress! Actually i’m mostly just bummed because most of my sipdowns will take a few days to get through. So no quick sipdowns here, though it also means i get to have fun trying some of my samples that have been hanging around waiting on me.

This one? Smells better than it tastes, but is better than the initial taste of this blend that i had. So either they changed things up or my tastes have changed. I don’t get a lot of caramel – it’s mostly an orange oolong..but i like orange so yay for that! thanks again tattoed_tea!

Well i’m glad that tatooed_tea sent me another bit of this since it appears that i like it a bunch better this time around. While still not my favourite in any way, shape or form, it is better than it was when i had it before. So yay! for that!

yeah….not so much a fan of this one. I brewed it properly… it just sort of falls flat. I don’t get any caramel notes in this one. There’s orange for sure but it tastes like that orange flavouring in children’s medicine.

This tea goes by another name now on della terra’s website – orange brulee. THIS is more of what i expected from the orange blossom oolong that i had before this tea. Not a bad little tea. I’ll be reviewing this again though since with the steepster outage i was terrible at taking notes down.

Nik

I’m even worse: you didn’t take notes whilst tasting notes were down, but I didn’t drink tea! Eep!

Sil

Bad Nik! Bad!

Thanks so much to Azzrian for sharing this tea with me !

This is my first Della Terras tea and I was very excited to taste it especially because I fell in love with the name of the tea.
… but unfortunately not with the tea itself.

The blend is so beautiful with a lot of multicolored little candies (stars of David and little golden balls).

I found the tea base too light for my taste. The aromas of marshmallows was overpowering to me as well (but after all it is supposed to be a marshmallow tea ! – but I was expecting something with a much more pronounced caramel flavour).

I think this tea delivers its promises to be a marshmallow tea – I have enough blend to do a second big mug of Eight Candles tea and sure I will give it another try.

Try steeping just a bit less time and see if that helps perhaps :)

Second cup of the day, heading to the mall once I can pull my boyfriend away from working on our design project lol. I only have one cup left of this one, I was going to put it all in and do a sipdown, but it would be a lot all at once haha. So an almost sipdown lol. Light and sweet, I will probably miss this one more than I think once it’s gone. See previous notes :)

So this was my first cup of the day today, I was craving something sweet and cozy. This cup fit the bill, I steeped it for 2 mins this time and it was perfect! I love the name of this tea, it reminds me of the Nutcracker and Christmas. Snow is lightly falling outside as well. Good start to the day! See previous notes on this tea :)

I really love the name of this tea, it reminds me of the Nutcracker :) having this tonight to relax and focus on a big presentation this week and a lab report due tomorrow. This smells so gooodd! Please see previous notes on this delectable tea from Della Terra :D

ALSO – unrelated to this tea, but my Yixing pot is finally here from Verdant!! AHHH! No one was home to get it this afternoon, so I tried to get it at the post office tonight but they said to come tomorrow as they didn’t have their stuff sorted yet D: I could pretty much see the box! So anxious to get it! :)

Haha i didn’t know if I should log this under its original name or this one. Picked this one as it showed up in my steepster feed yesterday :p, although I purchased it back when it was vanilla pineapple white (and neglected to log, my bad!)

This tea smells so sweet and yummy! It vaguely reminds me of a sugary breakfast cereal, but I think that the vanilla and pineapple mixing. It smells delicious though, and makes me want to gobble it up! I steeped the full three minutes this time. Oh, and the leaves are soo pretty and delicate! I love how they unfurl, I showed these leaves to my mom back when I first had this tea at her place and she thought they looked so nice!

The wet leaves smell just as delicious! I can pick out the ingredients a bit better though, separate the pineapple and vanilla, and the green tea is underlying the sweetness. Lots of vanilla though, a very tasty vanilla smell. Mmmmm so happy I’m having this in the morning!

The flavor is so nommy, vanilla with a slightly pineapple aftertaste. I definitely can taste the green tea in here, but it is tempered by the white to keep the cup pretty light. I might try a bit shorter steeping to see if it can be even lighter and fluffier. Also would like maybe a wee bit more of the peppercorns, they are present in a slight warming sensation, but not quite as strong as in Mayan Mist (which is probably a good thing actually, this tea is much more delicate than that one).

Overall, this tea is pretty darn delicious. For being a green and white blend, it is still very delicate and delicious. I feel like I should be having a pastry with this, or small sandwiches :). This might end up being a re-purchase as it’s really enjoyable. Very good white tea from Della Terra! Recommend this!

I LOVE THIS TEA! It’s a beautiful, sincere, delicious cup of white/green tea. You can taste the beautiful buttery-ness of white tea along with the gorgeous vanilla flavor that goes along with it. I love this tea and I highly recommend it! I’m actually going to go back and get a second cup here very soon!! :)

Finishing off the last of the sample package of this… it’s so good!

I’ve so much to get done today … got to get these journals finished. My Japanese screw punch is malfunctioning, which makes my work even more difficult with these. sigh And I thought that of the few different ideas I had for my 12 Days of Christmas art exchange that this would be the quickest, most economical gift that I could put together… it’s turned out to be a huge project… much more than I thought it would be. Will be glad when I’m finished … don’t get me wrong, I’m having fun with it, but, like every year, I ended up biting off more than I’m able to efficiently chew.

Anyways… at least I’ve tea to keep me company while I toll away!

When it comes to creative projects, & lets face it, my whole life is a creative project, I always bite off more than I can chew! Hang in there!

LiberTEAS

For many months now, I’ve been sort of obsessed with “Smash Books” – and I don’t know why. They’re like a commercial altered book, and I think that’s why they appeal to me so much. But, I won’t break down and buy one, because, I kept saying to myself, I can make that! I’ve got all the tools in my studio to make that thing. So, that’s what I’m making this year for my 12 Days of Christmas art gift exchange… I’m about at the halfway point now, so with a few hours of work, I should be finished tonight, or at the latest, tomorrow night… and I’ll still be able to get SOME of them off tomorrow, at least.

I thought these would be super easy and fast to make… but, then my screw punch gets all temperamental and it’s made that a lot more difficult than it needs to be.

So, I’m having fun with it, but, it’s just not going as quickly or as smoothly as I had hoped it would.

Terri HarpLady

Seems like things never do, eh?

gmathis

Sounds like a great project for using up all kinds of scrappy stuff. (I have loads of it that I can’t bear to pitch after finishing greeting card projects…call it paper hash.)

LiberTEAS

true enough!

Babble

I’ve made hand-made books before. I don’t know if that’s the exact same thing, but man are they tough. People don’t realize how much work goes into just making PAPER.
