Made this today in a timolino for work. How this blend can taste so muddy and soapy at the same time both confuses and upsets me. Oh well; one more cup and this is done!

I may be a terrible person; for my friend’s birthday party I gave her the (about half empty) tin of this, and the nearly full tin of Topsy’s Turvy blend – the tins are gorgeous and I was very sad to see them go but I know they’re going to a great home that will continue to use them long after the tea is gone. The part that makes me a terrible person is that they were open already (though I don’t think she cared too much), and they were originally a gift to me in the first place…

I just couldn’t deal with drinking another ounce+ of this tea when I’m really not into it. The ginger is so blah; and it’s earthy in a bad way with a more artificial peach than realistic. I honestly didn’t mind it at first – but the more I have it the more I dislike it.

Fjellrev

Don’t feel bad! If she’s going to like tea itself and admire the beautiful tins it comes in, then everyone wins. Gifting is all about making someone happy, not whether you bought it or if it used to be yours or whatever.

A spoonful of honey did not help this one go down. Wrong Disney movie, I know.

So I cold brewed this one last week, but I grossly over leafed it and the resulting brew was this super murky, cloudy looking mason jar of blackish brown tea liquor. It tasted as gross as it sounds, and had an almost sludgy mouthfeel to boot!

It was like mud and peach/apricot hand soap. Just this nasty artificial, chemical tasting brew with a perfumey quality to boot. I have no idea how something can taste so dirty and soapy at the same time! After a few highly unpleasant slurps I added the honey but it did nothing but exaggerate the soapy quality. Noo!

Probably not necessary to point out, but I tossed most of it.

NOTE TO SELF: USE MORE RESTRAINT WHEN MEASURING THE LEAF NEXT TIME!

Fjellrev

Holy crap, that sounds brutal. And the reference is still perfect haha.

First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY VARIATEA! I hope you’re having an absolutely fucking wonderful day; and drinking tons of splendid tea! I couldn’t have asked for a better tea twin!

Had this one yesterday on the way to work. It was kinda off tasting while it was hot; something in it was coming off very sudsy/soapy. I want to say that it was the peach flavouring – ’cause the ginger I could taste was ok (as far as ginger goes), but the peach was really artificial/fake.

I actually didn’t finish my mug, and I left it up in the staffroom. When I came back for lunch, I grabbed the now super cold half mug and slurped it down. It was much better cold; no soap taste and the peach read as less artificial tasting! This leads me to believe that cold brewing might be a really good option for this tea, so definitely going to add it to my list of future cold brews!

Finally tried this one yesterday!

There’s sort of a story behind this tea; over the summer in like July my Mom, her boyfriend, and my sister went to Disney. They asked what I’d want as a souvenir and I told them to see if they could find something “tea themed”, maybe from Alice In Wonderland ‘cause of the Tea Party Scene that’s so heavily associated with the movie.

And my Mom delivered; she got me a tin of this and a tin of the Topsy Turvy tea blend! Sadly, there were some complications getting them to me; I don’t go to visit often (since moving I’ve been back like four times?) and she doesn’t really come visit me often here either. In December when I was in Regina to see my Dad I tried to plan a pick up but it failed, so it wasn’t until January when I went down to spend Christmas with her that all went well and I finally got my tea. Such a long wait.

Taste wise this was ok; not the highest quality tea, but not the worst either. It’s quite gingery and normally that’d bug me, but it’s also quite peachy too and the two flavours do work quite well together. It kinda breaks even, overall. Not a whole lot of the supposed “apricot” flavour in this one was noticeable though, and that was a little disappointing. Still, I have lots of this now so I can definitely play around some!

Black base was ok; it got a touch bitter by the end of the mug, but I think it’s pretty smooth overall. Nothing very spectacular about it other than, based on my experience with this one cup, it not being too touchy. Regardless; even if I don’t find the tea mind blowing – the tin itself is so pretty. And it’ll be an awesome ‘collectible’ anyway.

My Dad is currently “live texting” me the Grammys…

Dad, if I wanted to hear about the Grammys, I’d just watch them.

DeliriumsFrogs

Your dad live texting you is both hysterical and incredibly sweet at the same time. :)

ohfancythat

yeah, i almost bought some of those at Disney but the flavours were just not something that appealed to me. Good thing I didn’t because my suitcase was JAMMED full going home anyway….

I wasn’t expecting to like this tea, but it surprised me with its light sweetness and not-too-overpoweringly-fruity flavor. I never need to use sugar with this one, perfect for drinking straight. I also found that you can also steep it for a longer period of time and not run the risk of over-brewing, the flavor stays more-or-less the same. One of my favorites from the Wonderland Tea multi-pack. I went through this box first, but that was mostly because I was too afraid to go through my Mad Tea Party Blend too quickly. :P

Smooth blend with a mild vanilla & cinnamon spice taste. I’m personally not a fan of mega-strong chais, so this was a great option for me. Tastes great hot and cold.

Alright Disney, you stole my daughter’s heart and soul with Frozen, making her damn near unbearable singing on repeat the one or two lines she can remember from the song. She told me she was going to freeze my heart and make me dead all while “pretend you are a princess” mania has taken a firm grasp in my house. So screw you, but you can hold your own with tea.

This little tea bag came to me in a traveling tea box, has been beating up in my bagged tea drawer, then dragged 1/4 way over the globe before I finally tried it. The bag didn’t hold up so well and luckily I had a fine mesh steeper to pick up the slack. And to my surprise it actually wasn’t disgusting, but the fact that I have been camping recently could be influencing my perception. The tea is pretty fragrant and tastes very bright. Even through some sweetened creamer, the flavor still holds up and has a little kick or bite at the end. The aftertaste is really nice and bergamoty. I’m impressed for what it is! I wonder who makes this tea for Disney. They couldn’t possibly have a tea garden and processing plant hidden away on the magic kingdom, where the little dolls from the small world ride go to work a night shift picking tea in the moonlight after the park closes… could they?

yyz

That reminds me of when my cousins daughter she would him or sing parts of Arielle’s theme from little mermaid almost constantly, but especially when she was unsure of where she stood at the moment. If she had gotten in trouble she would often come down the stairs singing it as a form of apology and question to test the grounds as to wether everything was alright.

She still sings a lot to this day and seems to be heading into the preforming arts as a career.

Dustin

That is super cute! It is neat to see how traits from little ones evolve with them as they grow! I often look at my kid’s behavior and wonder what traits will develop and which are just a phase. I’m really hoping the princess obsession fades fast!

Disney teas are pretty good! You should try the mad tea party blend. It’s loose leaf and I think you might like it.

Small Big Traveling Tea Box

Oh, golly, Miss Molly! Am I excited to try this tea! It is Disney!:D I have ever been fascinated by the sure skill of their marketing and how easily I can get swept up into the “Disney Magic.” But I am no where near as crazy about Disney as many others are.. much rather cuddle up with my neuro research and a nice cup of tea than wait in lines with a billion people buzzing about:P But place and time— both have their lovely moments.

This tea has a nice medium strength base with gorgeous notes of peach and apricot. mmm, yum. It is one of the better apricot teas that I have tried and doesn’t taste too far off from the apricot that I had for breakfast. I do enjoy that it has flavor but without being too overpowering, very well done. A great blend with a sweet spice from the ginger. Oh, Disney.

I had Eve by Nina’s Paris today. It’s a really good apricot tea, IMO, if you’re looking for another.

albertocanfly

I read your review on that earlier! It sounds absolutely amazing^.^ I’m going to have to get my hands on some of that:P

mj

If you haven’t already, you can email Nina’s Paris USA and request three free samples- you don’t even have to pay shipping :-)

Skysamurai

This tea came with a cute tea pot as well with all the Alice in Wonderland characters on it.

albertocanfly

mj Really?! Oh my gosh! I must try this^.^ Thank you!

Skysamurai That is adorable!^.^ Did you actually get it in Disneyland? :]

Skysamurai

My mom in law discreetly got it there for me while we were all there.

albertocanfly

What a tricky but sweet mother-in-law :D

mj

Yes! It’s completely awesome! [email protected]

By far one of the worst Earl Greys I’ve ever had, it’s very bitter (even though that’s how Earl Grey usually is) and I can barely swallow it, no amount of sweetener, honey, or creme helps.

Backlog annnnnd I think the main purpose of today’s review is to show I’m alive .-.

I’ve been somewhat busy but tea is starting to take more precedence again so yay!

I received this tea from my sister-from-another-mother who picked it up as a birthday gift for me while she was at Disney World.

Overall I was excited…this seemed like the perfect gift for me…but the smell was, well, STRONG. I brewed up a cup for myself and my mother and was greeted with some fruit and spice but also a lot of floral. I’m currently cold steeping this tea to see if I can coax out more of the fruity flavor.

Well, this tea has had a long steep today, and it holds up quite well. I actually chose it for today for just that purpose — I have a three hour period in which I can’t really get up and take a break, and wanted something to drink during it. And thus, here I am, and here it is — two hours in and still going strong. Even at this point, there isn’t much of a bitter oversteeped taste to it. It would be a bit better with milk now, yes, but it’s still pleasant and fruity.

I really do enjoy the peachy-mango-y flavour to this tea. It’s light and reminds me of spring. I actually prefer this sort of flavour with a green base, but I like it with the black here too.

I’m revisiting an old favorite. I’ve actually been revisiting it alot lately. I didn’t really how much of this tea I still had left! This used to be an almost daily drinker in college, and my friend would kindly bring me back tins whenever she went home for breaks in Anaheim. She brought me another recently on a visit and I figure I probably should finish the last one before breaking into the new one.

This is still lovely juicy peach/apricot loveliness. The black tea base is a good medium strength, doesn’t go bitter too easily, and not too brisk. The tea is still fragrant even after sitting in this tin for who knows how long (probably a 2yrs since this tin was brand new.) I take it without additives and find it still completely satisfying hot or cold.

I’ve not been drinking much in the way of new teas right now, I’m trying really hard to sip down my collection into something not so overwhelming, so not too much in the way of logging new things. You wouldn’t believe how many places I’ve found stashes of tea in my room though…

It’s not bad. I can’t figure out how to sweeten it, though, and whenever I make a cup it always ends up bitter.
I’m finishing what I have, but I won’t be buying anymore.

my tastebuds have some kind of weird block against this tea i think. every time i’ve tried it i ended up in somesort of uncertain flavors realm.

i’m not even gonna mess with a tasting note really. it was just that confusing. i’m pretty sure this tea is delicious and i don’t trust myself.

thanks to jump62359 for this memorably weird experience!

I made instant iced tea with this by steeping it like normal tea that putting a million ice cubes in it. I don’t even know why I did this because I hate iced tea. Anyway, it tastes just like iced tea. I don’t really taste any pomegranate. The Disney Wonderland Teas aren’t really making a good impression. They just taste like cheap tea. Not a fan.

Okay. I have to admit, on its own, this tea reminds me of dishwater. Its scent and taste reminds me of the scent of dish detergent. Which… isn’t something I particularly want to say about tea. Adding milk and honey helps, but I still can’t find it within me to recommend this tea, as I would some of the others in the Wonderland Tea brand.

One of my favorite teas. Its wonderfully sweet on its own, and delicious with milk and sugar or honey. Right on, Disney!

I got this during a recent trip to Disney. It comes in a cute tin which claims the contents to be “The Official Unbirthday Tea” but also says it’s authorized for real birthdays too. The tin contains 3.08 ounces. I think I paid $11.95 for it (possibly 10.95??).
I consider it a version of Earl Grey because of the Bergamot. It’s decent and just strong enough for my liking. The flavors are subtle and mix well. It’ll probably become my new morning tea and I’ll grow to love it and miss it when it’s gone.
If I have some left the next time I get a traveling tea box, I’ll put some in.

Mmmmm I like the tin more than I actually like the tea… But the tea is still good. Just kind of a classic earl gray.
