I purchased the Domatcha brand after reading favorable comments here. I found a fantastic deal on ebay, so that made the price reasonable. I am a novice to matcha, however, compared to two other plain matchas I’ve tried this very good. The color is vibrant green, the smell is lightly grassy, and the taste is very fresh and almost sweet. I do not detect any bitterness. I like it!

I think this matcha is quite refreshing and delicious, had it made with milk and sweetened, we drink matcha as a “pick me up” in a small cup but I could make a big tall glass of this and just drink it up. I’ve been really looking forward to coming home and trying this matcha, it’s one of the better ones we’ve tried.
Just made Lance a matcha with milk sweetened(that’s just the way we like it) and I licked the whisk and and it made me want one too, this Matcha is the Bomb-Digitty!!!! Green delicious goodness, I guess the way make it is kinda like a matcha latte or something maybe? anyway Super good stuff!
Having this mixed with Original Vanilla Almond Breeze this morning with a Dagoba “Beaucoup Berries” bar for breakfast. Life is good.
I am so lowbrow. I am drinking maybe two teaspoons of this mixed in with 5 or so ounces of “original” Almond Breeze almond milk, and all I can think is that it tastes better with the vanilla flavored one. :-/ Drinking it this way brings me back to childhood and eating green tea ice cream at our local sushi restaurant.
Going back to the tea, this is a really a delicious matcha. I enjoy this one more each time I drink it (whether I prepare it this way or in a more traditional manner).
Smelled like it was going to be strong, but it ended up being pretty well balanced after I steeped it. Taste to me is buttery, with a faint grassy note that is just right.
Very creamy, dark emerald green. Accidentally whisked it too much for my liking the first time, making it slightly bitter. The second time was better, smooth- no bitterness. Tastes like everything I wanted from loose leaf sencha but never quite captured.
following DoMatcha’s guidelines: “For a more contemporary Matcha-Nog recipe, heat up 6 oz. of readymade Organic Eggnog available at your local natural food retailer, add a dash of nutmeg, and top it off with 1 tsp. of matcha pre-whisked into a froth. A splash of rum is optional!”
I used 1/2 tsp matcha, a combination of milk, almond milk, and eggnog (because I wanted fewer calories/less dairy), and no rum as it was the middle of the day ;-) Not bad!
Backlog: I made matcha lemonade yesterday.
8 oz Full Circle organic lemonade
1/4 tsp matcha
Used my aerolatte to mix because I’m lazy. it even frothed a bit! Served over ice.
This lemonade is so sweet it’s kinda gross :-/ Next time, more matcha, and maybe some water (2-4 oz) in place of some of the lemonade
Will I ever go to Japan? I dream of it! At least I can savor the amazing flavor of this matcha. Thanks to the heads up here on Steepster, I got this on sale. How could I resist? The flavor is so nuanced; delicate and robust at the same time. I just stare into the vivid green, inhaling that vegetal aroma…and just imagine I’m visiting Japan…
I added 1 tsp to my Green Monster smoothie for extra energy, because I’ve been dragging lately!
My basic recipe is:
8oz milk (almond, coconut, dairy, etc.)
1/2 banana, frozen
2 large handfuls baby spinach (about 1/4 of a bag, or 1/2 cup packed)
1 carton (~6oz) low/non-fat greek yogurt (Plain, vanilla, w/fruit, etc.)
Blend until smooth. Serve in a mason jar with a few cubes of ice, and a straw. Feel healthy!

I couldn’t move on to something else until I had a Matcha. It’s been a while for this one so I whisked some up!
It’s a good starter Matcha…not too over the top but still a nice start-to-finish matcha.
Always good to have on hand.

This was more like a matcha shot. It was 4:15 yesterday, I needed to leave the house by 4:30 to go paddling. I’d meant to make a Matcha milkshake (like the one HesperJune mentioned earlier this week), but time was getting away from me… So, I poured a splash of almond milk in a wide-bottomed but small mug of mine, eyeballed about 1/4 tsp of matcha with a regular ol’ “silverware” teaspoon, stirred it up a bit, added more milk (about 5 oz total), frothed it up with a few short blasts of my Areolatte (the “moo” model), and gulped it down.
It was delicious, there were somehow NO lumps (which I’ve never had happen when trying to cold steep/electric whisk matcha), and it foamed up very well. Apparently Blue Diamond almond milk is better than Silk and So Delicious at frothing even when cold. Score!
And what’s better, I had plenty of energy and a great time paddling (flatwater lake. I don’t do rivers).
I think there will be many more cold matcha lattes in my future now that I know I can successfully whip one up and drink it down in 5 min. flat!

I’ve dried two different matches of this grade, pure and this one. They are very different. We’re pure is more buttery, domatcha is more grassy. Domatcha froths up very well considering that I keep it in the fridge. I love the smell and taste of this tea, and I mean love. The fact that it’s easier to find, aka do not have to order online, helps, but the tea itself I like better. It has a wonderful green color, and a very earthy, elemental, almost velvety texture and weight. The taste is grassy, a little bit buttery, and fresh.
Up next I’m trying aiyas matcha, will be buying ths tea again and again.
