Backlogging several cups per day on this one! LOVE IT!

Found a nicely packed and hidden in a cool dark place of this stuff over the weekend and it was still awesome! I ended up having another few cups this morning! There are lovely creamy notes in the middle of the sip – sort of vanilla-E…This is terrific! Glad I found some in my stash! See other notes!

So I’ve got this dog named Mr. Snuggles. On cold days, he lives up to his name. He will literally sit there and cry to get into your lap if you’re sitting down. Often, I just end up carrying him as I go around the house. I know, I’m spoiling him big time. But he’s so freakin’ cute! He’s on my lap even as I type this. :)

Anyway, when I went into the tea stash to get this tea, I got all distracted by the other teas in there. Ever go in thinking you know exactly what you want, only to see all your other teas and be all, “ah! I want to drink all of these!” I had an indecisive moment, but I stuck with my original decision.

This tea looks really strange. They are uniform little strips of dark green crumbly material. Smells like tea even if it doesn’t look too much like it. My nose started feeling all cool and minty after giving a few good sniffs so I’m thinking the mint is probably powdered. :D The brew is dark muddy green. It’s reminds me a bit matcha, but not as refined. The mint is subtle. It’s a pleasant green tea, but I might add some mint to this the next time I brew it.

I examined the leaves some more after brewing. They seemed to have been powdered and then compressed. into little strips. So odd! I think this might make a good cold brew.

Backlogging and sipdown from yesterday…I will miss this one a great deal!

Filing this under “stuff-I-forgot-I-had-in-my-possession”. This looked very much like a Golden Bi Luo Chun – smelled like it, too. The leaves were darker, though. However, they were rolled in the same, adorable, snail-like way. Brew-wise, this actually had a lot more in common with heavier Dian Hongs, which I didn’t mind. It was woody, sweet, slightly malty, and imparting a bit of cocoa nib-like loveliness. A happy accident.

I steeped about 1 tsp. of this in my infuser mug for about 3 minutes. I got a very light orangish-tan tea liquor with some lovely peach and light muscatel notes. I am detecting a bit of spice here in the cup as well. Very smooth and mild cuppa. I might move onto something darker soon after this; yes it is still cold and foggy here while the rest of the country is roasting!

Another one I should have logged days ago. Ah well, it’s still very fresh in my mind so hopefully I can remember everything! I got this in my box from LiberTEAS and hadn’t tried it yet since I have had a lot of jasmine teas and they all sort of blend together after a while. However, I noticed some absolutely fantastic tasting notes and decided to give it a go.

I said that I’ve had a lot of jasmine blends before—green, oolong, even black—but never a white jasmine. Which is odd, since it seems like such a light, floral tea would be perfectly suited for jasmine. Though I suppose it would be easy to overwhelm, since jasmine seems to be the most heavily floral scent. However, the two are so perfectly balanced here. It’s airy, light, crisp, floral, sweet, ever so slightly grassy. Like drinking a wonderfully scented cloud! I must have brewed the leaves about 4 times and they continued to hold up beautifully, adding softer, sweeter notes with each steep. This is the perfect jasmine tea!

The scent of the steeped cup is lightly “green” and perhaps there’s a hint of a vegetal aroma, but it’s very subtle.

Even though it was steeped for four minutes, the taste is very light and subtle, like a weak green tea. Good, but nothing remarkable. It’s my first yellow tea though, so perhaps I’ll find that they are generally too weak for me. Either way, I’ll try brewing this one with a bit more leaf/less water next time to bring out the flavour a bit more. Might try that with the re-steep as well (decreasing the water, that is).

I don’t think I prepared this correctly. It tastes pretty light and I’m getting a floral hint, with a bit of an after taste of citrus. I read the other notes before writing this and mine isn’t that strong or exaggerated. Mine’s a little vegetal too, and I haven’t seen anyone say that… I’ll have to play around with my preparation method for this, but for right now I’m going to rate it based on this.

This is one of the smoothest Darjeeling teas that I’ve tasted, and it is quite surprising, actually. It is more robust than I would typically expect from a Darjeeling – this is not really that light, sparkling kind of Darjeeling (although it does have some of those notes) as this has much more body and flavor than I might experience in a typical Darjeeling. This one has some gusto to it!

It is very flavorful, with not only the muscat grape-y kind of flavor, but also a deep black currant and even a hint of plum to it. Hints of wood throughout. The finish is slightly dry, with a sweet and tangy aftertaste.

A really delicious Darjeeling, I like this one a lot!

I’m having one last cup of this before sending the rest to LiberTEAs and Mercuryhime. This is still one of the most interesting Green Teas I have had…see previous notes…

Yellow tea is my favorite, so I am always excited to try one I haven’t yet tasted. Thank you to TeaEqualsBliss for sharing this Yellow with me.

It has a delicate, sweet flavor with a hint of roasted nut in the background. It has a very supple quality to it – smooth and silky. A vegetative note in mid-sip, very slight but there, tasting slightly of steamed bitter greens with a touch of butter on it.

A very pleasant cup … and I’m off to write a review about it!

I’m still shocked I am the only person to log this incredible tea! Revisiting after 5 months…still LOVE it! :) Bold, malty, and slightly earthy! VERY nice!!! See previous notes, too!

I didn’t brew this in a Gaiwan, but, after reading Geoffrey’s notes I think I shall try it the next time I steep it. I didn’t even realize that this was a Darjeeling Oolong until after I tasted it. When I approached the steeping, I brewed it in my Breville, and if I had known it was an Oolong, I would have reached for my gaiwan instead.

Nevertheless, this is wonderful brewed in my now conventional way (Breville … how did I live before I got you?) Beautiful fruit-tones (raisin-y) with a lovely set of spices. Almost autumnal in taste, this Pure Nirvana. I love it! Love, LOVE love it!

This is the first Darjeeling oolong I’ve ever tried. And if it’s any indication of what else is produced there, I want “MOAR”! I did this gongfu-style so as to take note of the flavor changes, and while it maintained a similar palate between for successive infusions, it emboldened fabulously. I would not prepare this western-style as recommended on the East Pacific Tea website, do this in a gaiwan. You won’t regret the fruit notes. I swear on it.

The Cherry is perfect! Not overdone. The Rose is GRAND…not overdone. The Green Tea is Great! This is the complete package right here, folks!

I can’t believe I am the first to log this one! :)

This is a really nice yellow.

It has hints of floral-peppery notes but the cross between the natural green and white tea tastes are very good. In addition, I think the sweet after taste is my favorite of this tea.

This is very odd…and I don’t mean that in a bad way! I can taste the gunpowder with hints of minty-goodness but there is a texture to it that is matcha-esque but you can’t see a powder or mint ingredients by looking at it.

It’s sweeter than any gunpowder but still identifiable as such.

The mint notes are quite subtle as I continue to sip.

Tasty cup but very different!
