In at the shop at 5am to receive our tea order for the weekend, and really needed a pick-me-up to get through it all. Made this a bit stronger than normal, for obvious reasons! 3 scoops, 4 oz water. Whisk into oblivion. Stopping, the vegetal aroma hits the nose and wakens the senses. Slurping it down, the frothy liquor is smooth yet somehow astringent, sweet and vegetal at the same time. I paired it with a dark chocolate truffle for good measure. Ready to greet all my Black Friday shoppers!

this english breakfast blend has the briskness and body one would expect with a sachet of PG tips, but an elegant aroma and finish that outclasses the english standard – bravo!

Brewed some Assam this morning. It was probably not the bold wake up i need having it be my 17th day in a row of work, and 21st day of work this month, but it’s such a pleasant tea to sip on all day, that I couldn’t resist.

It was an assam type of morning. I love this tea. SO much. I’m almost running out though, so it may be time to restock! I wish the price of this wasn’t so high, but it really is worth every penny.

I had to go to work WAAAY earlier than I normally to this morning. So i broke out the Assam. I like to treat myself with this one when I know i am going to have a day that will be particularly hard.

20oz of this in my travel tea pot, helps you forget how mad you are that you have to go to work retail after your area is hit with over 11 inches of snow.

Bad day at work today. But this was in my tea mug.
Every time I took a sip, i was transported to my happy place.

I need to start bringing tea to work. A happy tea moment would be very desirable. Glad you found yours in your cuppa:)

I don’t know what I would do if i didn’t bring tea to work. Working retail sucks out your soul, tea helps replenish it.

Things that make me sad: Not being able to brew this properly.
I was too much in a rush this morning so i only got maybe a 2 min brew.
it’s still a tasty tea, but the flavors are so much richer, when brewed properly.

Brewed this again for work today. I have to up my rating on this one. It just makes me smile with every sip. I cannot help myself from drinking cup after cup. My travel mug only holds 16oz, I wish it held more.
The aroma of this tea makes me relaxed, and the taste? divine.

After yesterday’s lackluster attempt at Golden Blend, this morning’s wake up cup had to be Assam Golden Tips. Oh so good. :)

Brewed this for my travel mug to bring to my Black Friday work shift. I think I chose the right tea. The aroma and taste, just put me in a happy mood during the short moments I had when I could take a break from customers.

I was so surprised how sweet the flavor of this tea is. This was my first Assam tea, and I believe I am spoiled. I have learned that great tea isn’t cheap, but this one is worth every penny.

Sarah from the upstate store is down today to help out before Thanksgiving weekend. We made this in our Dragonhouse glass tumblers! (more of those are on the way, should be here next week!) Anyways, this Dong Ding is AMAZING. Roasted, sweet and fruity, it’s right up our alley. My father and I always get into a discussion about what aspects of oolongs we like the most. Sarah and I tend to like the darker, more roasted oolongs like DHP (Da Hong Pao), that have similar qualities to Pu-erhs and Lapsang. My father and his assistant Elvira on the other hand tend to prefer the lighter, more complex notes of floral, high mountain oolongs like Ali San and the lighter version of Dong Ding. Now we have a Dong Ding for him and a Dong Ding for me! YAY!

My boyfriend made me a cup this afternoon, though we shared the sachet so it wasn’t steeped for very long. Oh well, it’s still a happy cup of tea. :)

I ended 2010 with a pot of this. It was a nice end cap to the new year. Here’s hoping 2011 will be a good year!

Went on a shopping spree yesterday at Harney & Sons in SoHo. Picked up a 4oz tin of this. And boy am I happy I did. This is one of those teas that makes the day start off correctly.

Have you tried Tower of London? It is very similar but I like it even better. I buy it at Barnes and Noble. It only comes in sachets. Yum! And this one is yum yum, too!
