Apparently this tea is good either plain OR with milk. The milk seems to enhance the vanilla and give it a lovely creamy taste and mouthfeel – and it also makes the tea taste sweeter (no sweetener required!). The orange is at a good level where you notice that it’s there but it doesn’t make the tea bitter, and the jasmine is subtle enough to give the tea some pleasent floral notes without making the tea smell and taste like jasmine soap.
Preparation
Today was the last steep from my 1oz. tin, and overall I was very happy with this tea. It has a nice bit of fruit flavor to it, as well as a flowery, spicy taste that makes for a complex cup. It’s also a tea that can be enjoyed by itself, and at any time of the day, since it’s either caffeine free or light on the caffeine. (The tin says caffeine free, but Steepster says it has a ‘natural’ caffeine, whatever that means…)
I don’t know that I’d buy more of this tea, since it has a lot of flavors that blend together to make a great, though not distinct tea, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone that’s looking for an easy to drink mate with a lot of different flavors and aromas.
Preparation
Tried hotter water today, and the taste was still smooth and delicious. However, it’s mostly a strong mate taste with just a hint of fruit despite the huge chunks of dried fruit in the tea, and I’m still not getting much of the spice flavor, though there is a slight taste of minerality.
Preparation
this is a nice rooibos blend, with some lovely help, I like to mix this with their chamomile http://flic.kr/p/6QBv8K
I haven’t been much of an Earl Grey fan in the past because the bergamot has always been too overpowering and perfumey for me. This Mighty Leaf Earl Grey has me reconsidering all Earl Grey. It is really enjoyable! Maybe in the past I have just had poor examples. I look forward to trying other Earl Greys in the future.
