This is the twigs that have been separated from green tea production and then roasted. The first thing I noticed after pouring the water on the tea was a wonderful nutty aroma. The tea was a good brown colour.

I would drink this tea when you are looking for a black tea but don’t want the caffeine or an upset stomache.

It went well with my cup cakes.

drank Sencha by Mitoku

I just found this new Sencha, far from Japan. At 5 grams of tea, it was a bit strong, so I added a couple of tea spoons of sugar. The second time, I changed the amount to two teaspoons of tea.

It’s got that tartness of sencha, for sure. Liquor was on the yellow side. Leaves green.

I’ll review it again later.

pleasant roasted bancha kukicha. I use a lot of tea per cup as it is very nice strong. This tea is nothing exquisite or expensive ($7NZD – 100g), but a satisfying tea good for when I don’t want something too caffeinated.
Great value comfort tea.

Earthy, but not too earthy. Not bitter or overpowering at all. The liquor is a great color, I like to add some honey to the tea also. Has a little bit of a butterscotch flavor to it.

Picked this up on a whim while I was out shopping this weekend. It tastes quite different from other green teas, so much so that I had to look it up to see what category it falls under. So far, the taste really reminds me of darker oolongs. I don’t think I used enough leaf, since the instructions said to use 2-3 tsp/cup, so maybe my opinion will change later today when I try again! I like it, but I’m not a huge fan.
