thanks dexter! This is another one from the box that dexter sent me and i have to say one of the nice things about is, is there are a bunch of rooibos and tisane in it, so that’s a nice change. My cupboard is 75% black teas with/without flavouring; 15% puerhs; and maybe 5% rooibos/tisanes. Which is sad because i generally like them. a bunch. so yay for new teas to try!
This one is a pretty sour tea. I tried this one hot tonight and i’ve got a cold brew for tomorrow going. i think this will be better as a cold brew, since there’s an after taste in this hot that i’m not a fan of. The initial sips of this one were pretty sour but then as it cooled, it became much less so. Overall, not bad, though i think i prefer the other cherry version from NMT co. that dexter sent me. Thanks Dexter!
Preparation
sipdown! This is a tasty caramel rooibos. I really am looking forward to placing an order with NMT one of these days. it’s not overly “rooibosy” and there’s a nice creaminess to this one that is tasty! Thanks dexter!
Preparation
thank you Dexter3657 (and possibly nxtdoor?) I haven’t had the time to add all the lovely teas dexter sent me in our swap but i figured if i tried a couple i could start getting them into my cupboard.
This is a pretty decent caramel rooibos. I don’t mind rooibos, so for me, i can get behind this one. It’s a bit less “full” than i’d like but overall, this is for sure one that can hang out in my cupboard! It’ll be nice when i can finally place an order myself with nmt co.
Preparation
that’s what i meant… heh sorry to confuse. dexter sent it to me but i saw that you had sent it to her! haha
Black Jasmine tea! with creamy? Ohhhh! The dry leaf and steeped cup smells freaking amazing, I just wanna rub it all over me as lotion!
Using the steeping instructions on the package, 212f water for 4 to 5 minutes, the tea came out bitter and dry, too much for my liking. The floral level is pretty good and a nice creamy aftertaste. Adding sugar is a must! Milk would be really good to add here too. And some scones. A nice afternoon tea!
After that, I tried this tea with 200F water for under 3 minutes – it was less bitter and dry, more to my personal tastes – the shorter steep is better if you don’t want to add milk and sugar as well as not like a bitter tea.
However, this tea is good though I think I like DavidsTea’s Black Jasmine Pearls more as I personally prefer the base there better as it is not as heavy.

Preparation
Decent strawberry tea. it doesn’t taste artificial and it’s as bitter as the Huckleberry and blackberry teas also from NM Tea Co, but I’m not in love. Nothing stands out as amazing flavor or superb quality. Just a simple black tea with a splash of strawberry.
Preparation
A sample from Queen of Tarts. I really enjoyed this one. I’ve had a difficult day at work (it may be time to look for a new job…), and I came home tired, irritated, and in need of something soothing. This tea fit the bill perfectly. It’s relatively straightforward — just vanilla flavoured rooibos as far as I can discern. It’s a good one, though. The vanilla is sweet and creamy, very natural tasting (vanilla pod rather than vanilla essence), and the rooibos is slightly woody, maybe very slightly nutty. It’s a bit like drinking vanilla ice cream. Smooth, delectable, moreish. It smells good, too. There isn’t a lot to say about this one, except that it’s very pleasant, calming, and easy to drink. Some days need a tea like this, and today was one of them.

I wanted to love this tea, but I don’t:)
I discovered that I had one serving left of Upton’s creme vanilla EG. So, I am having a sip down between two teas….
Cream EG is weak tasting to me, it smells like cream, but when you sip….where is that cream?
Upton’s version is not much better. Weak and where is that cream?
I guess, I will use this tea to make EG tea cookies. Life is too short to drink mediocre tea.
This came as the free sample with my NMTC order.
This is just ok for me. I like the grenadine, vanilla part of this but not the black base. The base is too sharp ? astringent ? bitter ? something unpleasant.
The first cup of this I may have oversteeped it, and it was pretty bitter. Was really careful with the second cup and while it was better it still had some astringency to it. I don’t like finicky tea. It’s too bad because I really did like the flavors.
SIPDOWN! you know what’s fun? mixing up the teas you’re drinking even though they taste nothing alike lol oopsy… so anyway this tea? it’s slightly floral…a little grape like and with a bit of sweetner it’s like the memory of ice wine. Over all not a bad little tea that i’m glad i got the chance to try, though don’t feel the need to purchase :)
NMTea Co sent me this as my free monthly sample with my last order.
I find that many peach teas seem to use the same peach flavoring which leave the tea tasting like Peach-o’s gummy candies. I didn’t care for the candy when I was a child and as an adult I still don’t care for the flavor, especially in my tea. This left me a bit disappointed, but the flavoring did cover up the taste of the rooibos.

CTTB!
This one is really tasty if you like Cardamom..which i do. so ha! It’s also making me really want some tasty chai now hehe. I really like the punch of this tea. there’s a sweetness here that is deliciously wonderful too. It looks like i may need to place an order with new mexico tea company sooner, rather than later since there are a few that have been passed on to me that i have enjoyed!
Here’s Hoping Traveling Tea Box (HHTTB)
For those who don’t know, I’m a recovering addict. It’s been almost 30 years since I had a drink (actually my anniversary is coming up soon).
So I haven’t had a glass of wine in at least that long, & I’ve never had Ontario Ice Wine. In fact, I never even heard of it until I joined Steepster, LOL.
So this is actually pretty nice! Plain it was so so, with a little stevia (& I really mean just a pinch), it is a lovely fruity cup.
Thanks to Awkward Soul for hosting the giveaway on her blog, this is one of the teas I purchased with the $10 gift certificate I won.
The first sip of this tea surprised me, I was expecting it to be a peppermint tea, but it turns out it is spearmint. I’m not really fond of spearmint, but it actually is a really good combination with the chocolate and rooibos. It covers the flavors of the rooibos completely, I just get a hint of it every now and then, so if you don’t care for rooibos normally this might be a good tea to try. I can’t really taste the chocolate, so that was a little bit of a let down, but I did notice that the chocolate chips didn’t completely melt.
Not a bad tea, but not one that is to my tastes, it would have been a huge hit with me as a peppermint tea.
Preparation
This tea tastes identical to the provence rooibos I have from Enjoying Tea. I really like the blend of fruit, lavender, and rose because not only do those ingredients top the list of my favorite flavors of tea, but they also do a great job of covering up the flavor of the rooibos. While I’ve been trying to drink more of it I find that I don’t particularly care for the taste.
I really like the fact that NMTeaCo has everyday free shipping on tea so they will likely be my new source for this particular blend. They also have great customer service. One of my orders was damaged in shipping and they immediately responded to the problem and sent out a replacement.
