This has definitely become my go-to tea when I have oatmeal. It just works.

Brewed in a four cup pot instead of a small pot. Definitely tastier when made in small amounts.

This tea is growing on me. Every time I make another pot of it, I begin to have more and more of a taste for it.

Resteeped the leaves I used last night. A bit longer on the steeping time. Not as overwhelming, though I’m afraid this could be one of those teas that does funny things to one’s stomach first thing in the morning if nothing is eaten ahead of time.

Whoah. It said to steep for five minutes. 30 seconds might have been a better option, as I steeped this for a minute in my two-cup teapot, and it was plenty strong. This is definitely one tea you have to feel in the mood for, as the smoky smell and flavour can be slightly overwhelming.

First cup was way too strong (their fault, not mine). Second steeping was much better.

A longtime breakfast favorite. Rich and full-bodied, with a good amount of complexity to keep it interesting. The main flavor/aroma characteristics are malt, cooked honey and red wine.

Sweet and moderately heavy in the mouth, It’s fruity (I taste Persimmon’s) and malty with a hint of muscatel grape, when it cools there is defiantly a woody spice. It has a little bit of an astringent end. Very good tea at only $8.45 a tin! Killer morning tea.

An absolutely splendid breakfast tea. Full bodied and naturally sweet, with just the slightest astringency. Smells like Autumn leaves, cedar with notes of malt and sweet dates.

Very heavy in the nose and on the pallet. I’m getting a loamy, barky, dirt. it’s very syrupy and thick, something fishy but not exactly bad, maybe fresh water trout. My overall impression is of the floor of a dank forest, decomposing leaves. Gives off a Xanex/Valium type head space, strange for a tea.

I just had my second cup and nothing has changed except my head. I’m higher now than before, so I guess thats good.
