I love this tea, I buy several at a time so that i always have one to drink daily, this is my everyday tea, it isnt the best however it is very good and not expensive and it is very good to drink daily. I double rinse for 10 sec each and brew for anywhere between 30 secs to 1 minute, brews many times i just up the brew time by a few seconds.

tommy who is your supplier on this tea. i think i am going to get one of these to try.thanks!

Tommy Toadman

Lost Dog Coffee has it for 9 bucks, Puerhshop don’t have it still, but i’m working on that ( i figure if i bug them about it enough then maybe just maybe they will restock it lol) I sent you a PM with Lost Dog’s link.

Tommy Toadman

Puerhshop can’t restock it cuz they said it is gone forever now(i think they are mad at me for bugging them about it), and i just got off the phone with the guy from Lost Dog and he is out of it now too, so i guess it is gone forever now :(

Like the other reviews I doubt that this tea deserves its premium name. It is better than most of the black teas out there but it falls way short of the really premium ones that I have encountered. Still worth drinking what I have but this is not a tea that I would use to show off a really good black tea to somebody.

A lighter fermentation ripe puerh with a clean smooth taste. While I have had better this is a good cheap everyday tea that would be ideal for a beginner to puerh.

Love it. From many young shengs I tasted for last year it’s the best one. My personal favorite.
If you are a fan of yiwu, especially GFZ / GSZ / Mahei, you have to taste MGH 1103. Strong aroma (fresh grass & flavorful flowers), great mouthfeel and long lasting anise-like aftertaste. I can feel it for a few hours after ending gongfu session. The taste is very grassy and masculine (no flowers, sweet, but not too much!). This pu is strong and thick (almost oily). I know how good is aged Mansa pu, but I can only imagine how good can be really EXCELLENT young Mansa in future.
P.s Don’t overbrew and don’t use boiling water! Another hint is not to use yixing teapots. MGH 1103 is “too sharp” to be rounded by the effects of the clay. Use gaiwan instead.

When I first tried this pu I thought that it was a joke. I had strong feeling that i drink a tea from a chunk of very old board. It was extremely woody!
After airing and storing for a few months I’ve loved this cake. Now it’s one of my favorites.
The taste is very woody and reminds me a lot of excellent FuZhuan and good aged sheng.
Keynotes: extremely woody (with camphor hints), sweet and longest aftertaste.
It’s a very unusual pu and I don’t recommend it to beginners. But it’s a great experience for every tea drinker and you will love it or dislike it at the first sip.

Steepster has gone retarded on me and won’t let me add a picture, almost gave up on adding the tea as I wasn’t sure if it was worth it. This was a very whelming tea, I mean it’s a golden tip dian hong which always warms my heart but it really wasn’t anything special which is sad. :( Oh well its drinkable and I’ve had worse but I won’t be buying this one again.

This is the first cake of aged sheng that I picked up for myself after long since being afraid of aged sheng out of fear that it would lead me to enjoy shu less. Although as it turns out aged sheng is different enough that it is nothing to worry about. My initial impression is that wet storage aged sheng reminds me more about Liu An tea than puerh, in how it has a lighter and slightly earthy taste to it. The other great thing about this tea is its insane level of reinfusability in that one can literally drink it all day and the tea leaves will out last the heavy tea drinker.

To me the 2002 Keyixing Ripen puerh cake is a fine example of the silky ripe puerh. A light mellow taste with rich smoothness that lasts for multiple infusions.

This is my daily cuppa and for something as ‘bland’ as these they sure have many types under the same umbrella. I personally prefer the fuller body taste of these kinds of tea.

Absolutely deelish… no off tastes and has that nice smooth earthy and leathery flavor that I love in a good Pu-erh. This is a solid Pu-erh Tea, I could drink this one often.

This is my first steep of this tea, so my opinion of it will most likely change as I get to know her better. Off to a great start though :)

Again… the people at PuerhShop.com bringin’ some mighty fine Pu-erhs to the table.
Aside from their wonderful selection of teas, I’m extremely satisfied with their service. Super quick shipping and good prices. I highly recommend them.

Wow… Another hit!

I’ll return later to review this tea in detail after I’ve spent more time with it.

But as far as quality vs. price goes… It doesn’t get much better than this. This could easily be in a much higher price bracket. Way to go Rongzhen :)

According to the PuerhShop.com, only 300 of these puerh cakes were made. So I guess I need to grab a few more of these eh?

Right off the bat I give this Pu-erh 5 stars.

I’ll return here later with an in-depth review after I’ve spent more time with this tea.

But my initial thoughts on this tea is in line with it being possibly my favorite Pu-erh.

So far, it’s just absolutely delicious.

Decent cake that brews up clean no, bits to cloud the cup and it. This tea has a real viscosity to it, almost whipped cream like. It very much reminds me of some of the more popular/famous DaYi offerings like say a 7572. This tea gives a real sense of calmness, contemplative and almost sleepy feel to it. Actual size of the leaves are quite small and leaves are heavily processed and machine harvested. I have nothign bad to say about this tea. There are teas that I like better but it’s a good solid choice to explore puer.

oops meant to say like a 7542… these leaves aren’t as nice as a 42.

My go-to shu puerh. I get indigestion from a lot of shu’s, but not this one. Very mellow, earthy, and robust with a sweet taste lingering on the tongue after drinking. An excellent value and truly a find for the pu-head as a daily cup or the occasional puerh drinker like myself.

I brew it as follows with good results. Gongfu style in a 120 ml gaiwan:

10 second rinse
First steep: 1 minute
Second steep: 30 seconds
Third steep: 3 minutes
