I sent out a bunch of teas to people yesterday. $20 in postage – oy! So if anyone requested tea from me you should be getting it in the next couple weeks.

As for this tea, go read my older tasting notes. ;)

Drinking this with milk and honey this morning, though all in all, I think I prefer it unsweetened.

I had a cup this morning – it was quite nice and toasty, a good tea for a snowy day like today.

It’s been awhile since I drank this tea and I realized that I missed it, like one of those worn old sweaters – not fit to wear in public but still comfy as hell. I freely admit that this tea isn’t anything special, but it gives me a good energy boost without the jitters and it tastes quite pleasant, particularly with milk.

What about a STGFOP Assam isn’t fit to wear in public? It may be comforting, too, but it doesn’t negate the fact that it could be stylish, kinda like a fine cashmere sweater — just to bring the sweater analogy to an absurd level.

It’s interesting to note that when I eat something sweet this tea, rather than tasting bitter in contrast, takes on a slightly sweet tone itself, almost like I’d added honey to it.

Hopefully this will help me wake up and get me ready to face the day. :D

Yawns This is a good wake-up call this early in the morning.

I accidently added too much milk and that kinda drowned the flavour. Oops. :(

I made a strong cup of this forgetting that we had no milk. Ah well, it’s still drinkable even though it’s too bitter for my liking without milk.

It’s interesting that despite it’s robustness it still tastes better plain than the generic orange pekoe made the same way.

A robust black tea, too strong for me to drink without milk. It’s good for waking me up out of my zombie-like state in the morning. I’m not sure if I like it or not. That verdict will have to wait until after my taste buds wake up a little more.

This is that last of this tea as I only had a small sample envelop of it. It didn’t blow my mind but it’s still a very pleasent tea, though I think I’d like to try some other Ceylons before I decide whether or not to get more of this one.

Stressful, stressful day. I’m drinking this to try and soothe myself and hopefully keep from going into a homicidal rage.

I hope the tea did its job and prevented homicide. Because I bet they don’t serve the good stuff in jail.

Jillian

sigh You’re right. I’m more at a ‘simering fury’ level right now, but tea is helping. It gives me something to concentrate on if nothing else.

I do like the distraction tea offers. Most of the time that I brew tea at work, I’m not so much craving tea as I am needing the time away from my desk and the time to focus on the brewing and not on the insanity surrounding me. Yay tea!

Had it with milk. In some ways it’s almost too much for the tea as the milk seems to cover some of it’s more subtle notes present.

A very mild black tea with little of the bitterness I tend to associate with other black teas. Tastes fine without milk.
