pumpkin spice from Subtle Tea

I’m a fan of almost anything involving pumpkin. Still, I’m wary of pumpkin-flavoured teas. They usually only disappoint.

This smelled really good in the package, though. More like pie than I was expecting.

The steeping turned out the same…like raw pumpkin mixed with the spices before you mix in any milk or sugar. Or like filling for tortelli di zucca before you add ricotta.

Next time, I’m trying it with milk. This is the best pumpkin spiced tea I’ve tried so far. It’s not perfect, but it’s a lot better than most of the others. Stash’s is just a world of no. Peet’s as well.

This is one of my favorite teas. It’s very light and perfect for an afternoon in a sundress (with cake and good company).

Love this tea, great way to start the morning out instead of coffee. I like that it is sort of sweet and earthy tasting.

I brewed this at 212 degrees and steeped it for 5 minutes and it was perfect!

Steepster traveling teabox tea!

I didn’t really know what I was expecting, it sounded nice (who doesn’t like pumpkin pie?) and I figured it was worth a try.

So after the nice spicy scent of the steeped tea…I got a mouthful of bitter tea water.

Disappointing.

I certainly could have used to hot of water or steeped too long (I try to follow package directions the first go round). since I only get one go at each TTB tea I’ll have to wait until someone else takes a crack at it.

Post-Steep Additives: lactose free fat free milk, didn’t help

A bit on the light side, but still quite tasty! I tend to like my oolong teas nice and strong, so this doesn’t quite hit the spot for me.

Just did a shoot outside in 20°F (“feels like 5°F”). Boy do I need this.

I felt like this did not have enough Earl Grey and seems to rely more on the black tea for flavor. This is a fantastic tea regardless! The flowers add a very subtle undertone to the taste as well!

China Pai Mu Tan from Subtle Tea

I mixed 1 tbsp of the China Pai Mu Tan with 1/2 a tbsp of the Pomegranate fruit mix (SubtleTea). Terrific pink/orange color and a light fruit scent, not overpowering. Still a very clean taste.

way too much bergamot. Completely kills the taste of tea

Manhattan Earl Grey from Subtle Tea

Woah. I’ve had earl grey’s from all over. This one blows my mind. At first I thought there was too much bergamot flavor, but after switching back to my go-to (Adagio earl grey) I found the adagio to be bland and the Subtle Tea to be…more delicious. Regal, gourmet, bold, wonderful.
