I wasn’t very impressed with this tea. Much too mild for my taste, but it’s a good choice for lazy afternoons.

As a woman who finds it impossible to say no to anything or anybody, I often find myself pouring out tea and coffee, and handing round biscuits at various community events. Over the years (and I’m ashamed to say it IS years) that I have been cajoled into doing such things I have tasted many bland, insipid teas. I wasn’t moved in any way, when quite out the blue I found a box of Yorkshire Tea within the giant sized Tupperware that I carry from event to event. I spent a good 3 hours making tea before finally drawing breath long enough to taste this for myself. What a beauty! Plain, but comforting. Tea like granny used to make. I have only ever made this on a grand scale and usually use 3 bags, per extra large teapot, it is more than strong enough.
Try this; even outwith community gatherings. You won’t regret it.

Why should you settle for anything insipid?

Lollaporridge

I reject insipidity.

Carol Wattberg

You should.

This is by and far the nicest holiday spice tea I’ve ever had. If Christmas had a taste, this would be it!

I like strong teas in the morning and early afternoon. That’s my favorite time for Yorkshire Gold tea. This tea is definitely strong and malty, even with a short infusion. The liquor is a pleasant golden brown color when steeped in the 2-3 minute range.

The best bagged tea. Perfect after coming in from a cold day out.

A nice, balanced Earl Grey with excellent quality bergamot. I like this as a morning tea. I find that the bagged version is quite respectable, too.

A terrific cup of tea. Bold tasting. A great way to greet the day.

I was hoping for PG Tips, which is what all the British ladies in the Daughters of the British Empire meetings drink, but found none when I went to the store, so I bought this. I hated it at first because I was steeping it far too long. Luckily one of the aforementioned ladies taught me never to go over three minutes with it and it went from being awful to a nice cuppa with milk and sugar.

This is the black tea provided where I stayed with Kaliska during Dragon*Con, at the Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta. I took it with me, and am just now giving it a taste.

It smelled promising when I took the bag out of the packet and sniffed. Like a strong, clean tea. Upon tasting, it has a nice malty, almost savory taste that lingers in my mouth. It’s pleasant and smooth, but unremarkable. Not the best black bagged tea I’ve had, but there’s not really anything wrong with it.

The packet said that it’s a blend from India and Africa, but it tastes like a plain old Assam to me.

Tried this tea for the first time and love it. Was looking for a strong morning tea. Something that would stand up to cream. This is the one for me.

This tea is smooth with a bit of bitterness if brewed too strong. Goes with anything from toast and jam to bacon and eggs.

This is a pleasant EG, but like others have suggested, the bergamot is strangely perfume-y. I’m a big fan of EGs on mornings where I need a zing to get me going and I’d much prefer a fresh, citrusy bergamot to this one. I don’t think it’s nearly as bag as people here are suggesting—in fact, it’s quite satisfactory, but it’s not top-shelf. Trust me, you can do MUCH worse than this one.

Meh. This tea is okay, but there’s really nothing that grabs me about it. Kind of a flat taste with a bit of astringency that desperately craves milk. It’ll do for now, but I probably won’t pick it up again. Sad! :(

This is perfect for days that I’m running out the door. I’ve got a box of 160 bags sitting at school and at home, just in case. Maybe it’s the former coffee addict in me that makes such a thing a requirement?

Listen, this is clearly the tops when it comes to generic tea bags. A lot of people swear by PG Tips but I really don’t think there’s a contest. Is this a fine tea that you sip with a pinky up? Do you serve it ceremoniously out of your fancy zisha teapot? No, but if you’re in need of a jolt of energy and you’re running out of the door, this is the bag you want to throw in your thermos.

I’m surprised that no one has reviewed this one yet! This darjeeling is pretty great, honestly. It has a lighter flavor than other darjeelings I’ve tried, and is quite a soothing cup after stressful days at work. This one is definitely worth a try!

this is the best bagged tea I have had.. I don’t like sugar but i can see how good this would be with it.. Nice clean tea flavor. A great color when poured.. I would put it up next to most loose leaf teas

I bought this in a sample box with other bagged tea from T of H. I thought it was a little bland. I think I enjoy jasmine best with black teas. I have had jasmine with greens that I’ve liked. This is okay for being bagged.

The tea is cut and granular and so doesn’t look like most loose leaf teas. It has a strong aroma, and makes a good, full-bodied brew after just two minutes of brewing (with boiling water in a pre-heated teapot). The label says it’s a mix of Indian and African teas, but it tastes like a classic Ceylon tea, similar to Lipton “Brisk” tea.

Not too bad!

I’ve been looking for a good Earl Grey for the longest time.

This one, unfortunately, isn’t it. A fine basic Earl Grey but the citrus tones in this are… perfumey and cheap, a little overpowering. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Pretty average. A wee bit bitter and astringent and definitely not top-notch. A high step above your average bagged teas, but well below the Assams I usually buy.

This tea is hardcore. Honestly, it beats up other teas in back alleys and consumes their strength, adding it to its own. If you steep one of these bad boy teabags for a while, it’s almost like drinking a cup of coffee. It means series business and I love it.

I LOVE IT.

I picked up a box from a British import store when I was visiting my parents in Ontario over Easter, and I’m really considering making them send me more because this tea has become my best friend and confidant.

It’s a strong, standard black tea, and I was surprised that I liked it so much because I’m usually wary of teas that come in bags with an undetermined sitting-on-store-shelf time. But this was fresh tasting, with full, fresh, punch-in-the-face flavour.

If you drink one tea this summer, drink this one.

Yorkshire Gold seems to be the simplistically ideal cup. I have yet to try Taylors of Harogate…hoping to but not necessarily this one.
