I was kind of hesitant to try a maple tea, so I only got a sample of this (which I now greatly regret!). I thought it might be like pancake syrup, that fake stuff that’s fine on, well, pancakes but I don’t really want my tea tasting like it. This, however, is the real deal. It smells like maple candies when you open the little baggie, the kind you get at rest stops all over NY. I’ve always wanted to melt one into tea, but now I don’t have to because I think that’s exactly what this blend tastes like!

It’s maple maple maple all the way through, from the smell when you’re drinking to the caramel, molasses-y ending. Surprisingly, it’s not overly sweet or cloying at all, and the black base really stands up to the maple (which is admittedly a very strong flavor!). They’re in perfect harmony, and I think this would be the most perfect breakfast tea ever. It’s brisk and bold enough to deliver a kick in the butt, but the maple makes it heavenly and comforting. In fact, this seems to be both a morning and nighttime tea! I am so in love, and I think I’ll be placing another order very soon so I can have more of this amazing goodness.

This sounds amazing!

This is one of their best! Love this stuff.

This sounds good and it makes me want a maple-blueberry tea!

Alphakitty

I actually have a blueberry tea I just got from the same company, maybe I should mix ’em up for maple blueberry goodness!

Scott B

Ooh, that sounds like some great alchemy!

ashmanra

I am almost out of their Chocolate Delight. I have been eyeing this one for a while. You may have pushed me over the brink into ordering it!

Autistic Goblin

Maple is yummmy! Dang it now I’m craving maple…

This is my 3 kids favorite iced tea. It’s not too tart and not too sweet but just right. The color is really vivid scarlet too so that is a plus with little ones! My 1yo starting asking for “tay” after she first tasted it and now it’s a staple in the tea cupboard!

A review of ginger Darjeeling peach by Tease

A fruity aromatic blend of brisk Ceylon and Darjeeling black tea paired with freshly hand-ground ginger, sweet dried peaches and a touch of cinnamon and clove to provide additional sweetness and body. Wonderful hot, makes a delicious iced tea.

Hot
1 1/2 tsp per 8oz boiling (212 degree) water steep for 3 minutes.

Iced Tea (2 servings)
3 tsp tea, 2 cups cold water, steep for 1-3 hours in fridge, sweeten to taste. Keep refrigerated and consume within 3 days.

A natural source of antioxidants & vitamins and high-grade whole leaf tea with organic ingredients.

This is another sample obtained from Heath’s Tea Room during my brief visit there. It is one of the two teas given to me by the proprietor, Kimberlie. I wanted Oolong tea but somehow ended up with black teas.

I took about half of what is in the tea bag/pouch and put in my teacup and poured boiling water over it and left to steep for a few minutes.

I examined the remainder of tea in the bag and could smell the cloves and as I poured out the bags content into my palm I could see the clove and I was pleasantly reminded how they look like little nails and very piquant. I am seeing the cut up ginger and very tiny bits of the peach.

With these spices present I am thinking this is a lovely tea to have on a cold day; an early morning brew or anytime of day needing a cup of spice tea (with not apple or pumpkin) but peach instead.

In removing the cover from tea I can discern tea’s color to be dark amber. It is not red, but very dark. I then pour the tea into another cup with a strainer to further examine tea. The tea’s liquor is a lovely mixture of the spices to be found in the cup; clove, ginger, peach and the fleeting cinnamon.

The taste of tea is smooth and very sweet and not at all astringent. Tea has a nice kick to it with the cloves layering evenly with the ginger.

Overall, this is a good cup of tea. It is a full bodied tea with a lovely spice fragrance and this tea would do well with a touch of milk and served very hot for sheerest of enjoyment to delight in the decadence that is to be found within this cup of Darjeeling tea.
Thank you for letting me experience this tea; the folks at Heath’s Tea Room of Rockport, ME.

A review afternoon apricot (Loose Leaf Black Tea) by Tease

We blended fine Ceylon tea with Darjeeling and organic osmanthus flowers to create an aromatic, sweet and delicate cup with a wonderful fruity aroma. Excellent hot or cold and good enough to stand-alone or enjoy with milk.

Hot
1 1/2 tsp per 8 oz boiling 212 degree water steep for 3 minutes.

Iced tea (2 servings)
3 tsp tea, 2 cups cold water, steep for 1-3 hours in fridge, sweeten to taste keep refrigerated and consume within 3 days.

I decided to try this tea hot. I let the water boil for nearly five minutes and placed one teaspoon of leaves into a cup and poured the boiling water into the cup and left to steep for several minutes.

I should note that the tea in the bag is very sweet smelling. The leaves are black and are finely crunch with bits of the apricot. It is a lovely smell on its own.

I removed the cover from the cup of tea and take in the warm smell of the tea. The tea’s color is dark amber with a floral nose. This tea has fullness to it. A good heft in that the color, strength, substance and roundness. It is quality made tea of the finest Ceylon. I like the overall taste of this tea. It would do well with milk and sugar and served very hot.

With the 2nd steep I did add sugar to the tea, and this makes it so nice and creamy in the texture of the tea. Although with black tea there should only be 1 steep, discarding the tea leaves to avoid “stewing” or bitterness.

Overall, I like this tea from first whence I opened the aluminum sealed packaged, to inhaling the fragrant that is to be the bouquet of this tea. I smelled the apricot; it is sweet and sour in scent. Having a nice effect throughout the cup of tea.

drank Tropical Green by Tea Guys

I enjoyed this tea cold over hot. It has a very tropical and clean taste that’s not too overpowering even though the aroma is very strong. It has a natural sweetness provided by the pineapples and has a nice light greenish yellow color. Adding a little bit of sugar did the trick for me but it can definitely be enjoyed without any sweeteners as well. If you like green teas and amazing tropical smells and flavors, I would recommend this tea for you.

drank Strawberry Kiwi by Tea Guys

I tried this cold brewed and it turned out okay. It wasn’t too tart or too sweet but I felt maybe it was lacking in overall taste. I guess that’s what cold brewing does, but I did still enjoy it. If you enjoy a light tasting fruit tea this ones for you. If you like bold strong flavors you may not enjoy this.

I tried a sample of this as an iced tea and it was surprising. I didn’t get too much strawberry flavor but I got more of the cinnamon which gave it a root beer-like taste. In that sense I did enjoy it because I like root beer, but for those of you who don’t, you might want to stay away from this tea or drink it with an open mind. Don’t expect an overwhelming strawberry flavor.

Received a sample of this tea and decided to try it iced. First I hot brewed it, added a bit of sugar, let it cool down and let it chill over night. I was happy with the results. I was hoping for an iced coffee like flavor and it really delivered. You really all the flavors in one sip and it’s delightful. You get the nuttiness of the pistachio and a hint of honey after taste. I added a drop of milk and it felt just like having an iced coffee on a hot day. I would recommend this tea to those who have similar flavor palettes and enjoy a nutty and sweet black tea.

This tea is best served with milk and sweetener. It definitely brings out the flavors. Upon first sniff it smells identical to Coconut Cream Pie but then you smell undertones of real cocoa flavoring.
By the time I was half through, I realized that it tasted just like a Mounds Bar in a cup – however, not overpowering. Very smooth. Makes an excellent dessert tea.

Sipdown! This one had lost a bit of flavour, but was still pretty decent. Unfortunately, it got dust/cat hair in it (after my first few sips) so down the sink most of the cup went. Ah well.

I didn’t know what type of tea this was prior to brewing. Clearly need to up my tea identification abilities!

The dry leaf smells pleasantly gingery, and maybe a bit fruity. I can’t identify anything in particular though. Steeped, I’m getting a light citrusy ginger scent. Smells good!

Yum! This one is really quite good! The ginger is there, but neither artificial nor overpowering, just adding a bit of a zing, and the tea tastes lightly tropical. I feel like I’m getting a bit of pineapple flavour, not specifically papaya though. Wow… I’m really impressed by the union of the tropical and ginger flavours – usually one or the other is overdone. I can’t really taste the white tea in the blend though – that’s my only complaint. I think I might get a touch at the end of the sip, but it really just tastes like a herbal tea.

This is a very soothing tea; if it would be easy for me to acquire, I think it would be one I’d re-purchase and keep on hand! Although not until I drink down some of what I have…

Thank you LiberTEAS for this delicious sample!

ETA: Oh my. My bad – I steeped this one a second time for WAY too long, and I can taste it. The ginger is overwhelming and spicy (in that gingery way), but there’s still some fruitiness too. I suspect I could get a great second infusion out of it though, done properly. Remember that for next time, Jenna. headshake

What a great tea. First I was hit with a strong aroma. The blend itself looks inviting with bits of carrots, coconut and walnuts.
It brews an awesome orange. It has a satisfying full carrot cake flavor, not too sweet and not too bland. You can also savor the roobois, which is important.
This will be a staple for me.

As soon as you open the package you are amazed by the real maple aroma coming out at you..and looking at the blend you are impressed by what’s in there, bits of maple sugar, pink peppercorns & nice looking black tea.
It tastes great and has a pleasant real maple flavor with the perfect amount of sweetness & black tea flavor that compliments each other very well.
Perfect by itself, but even more indulgent with some maple agave & soy milk ;)

This is a good tea, but not strong enough for a wake-up tea. I guess that means I’ll have to drink more tea – what a great problem to have.

This is on my wish list. I love their chocolate delight and need to reorder!

The other teas in my cupboard are getting quite jealous of the ones from Tea Guys – those are getting all the love recently. I really should drink more of a variety so that my Tea Guys order doesn’t run out too soon, but I just CRAVE these flavors.

On to this particular tea, once again I am reminded of Adagio’s Cream tea. Some may not like it, but I really enjoyed it and I likewise really enjoy this tea. The base is also significantly better than Adagio’s base. On to more tea and more comfort for the evening!

I’ve had a few cups of this tea, but haven’t logged it yet because I couldn’t find the words to describe this tea. BUT, I have finally figured out what this tea reminds me of: Adagio’s Cream tea – except this is the older, more sophisticated version. Although this is the weakest flavored tea that I’ve tried so far from Tea Guys, I really adore this tea. There is a definite maple syrup aspect to the tea that comes through primarily in the aroma of the tea. The maple flavor IS present in the taste of the tea, but it is a bit more subdued and creamier than I would have expected. 3 out of 3 winners from Tea Guys!

Squeeee! Definitely placing it on my order!

After having the Maple Sugar earlier, I remembered that I should still have some of this gem in my cupboard. And I did – hiding behind a couple of canisters! Mmm, this is a wonderful way to end the evening. I’m getting a flavor tonight that I want to describe as peppery, but I don’t think there is pepper in the blend. Maybe it is the walnuts which I do not eat but haven’t normally found offensive in this tea. (And, yes, I love actual carrot cake but I tend to pick out the nuts in my piece).

You’re not the only one who prefers walnut-less carrot cake. (I think black walnuts smell rotten - think it has something to do with having to help shell and smell pounds and pounds of them when I was growing up.)

So how should I treat myself after going to the gym? With a rich, creamy mug of Carrot Cake minus the calories!

Okay, I pulled myself away from the super rich and delicious Chocolate Delight to give this tea a try. I am definitely glad that I ordered a bit of this! I really, really like Carrot Cake and this actually lives up to its namesake. This tea is creamy, a bit spicy, slightly sweet and cakey. I never thought this would actually remind me of the texture of Carrot Cake, but for some reason it does! I also love that it is caffeine-free because I could see this being a nightly indulgence for me. So far I am really LOVING the selections from Tea Guys!

Ok, just wow. Not only does this tea smell amazingly rich, it IS amazingly rich! It is like drinking a nice, sweet chocolate syrup. I’ve never had a tea that had so much of a chocolate taste and I love that you can still find the tea underneath the richness. I was planning on trying the other 2 teas that I received today from Tea Guys, but I may just have to stick with this gem for awhile. It is blowing my mind! Chocolate without the guilt? Yes please!

Isn’t this one delicious? Doulton sent me a generous portion and I invited a friend over for some. She got hook on it and loved to so much that she cst aside her Coconut Truffle…fortunately, to ME! I probably need to order another bag or two.

I ordered this primarily based on your reviews, but I could never have guessed just how great it would be before I tried it! I also bought their Carrot Cake and Maple Sugar – I think those two definitely show promise after trying Chocolate Delight.

I tried this tea several times and didn’t rate it. I wasn’t on this site as often as I used to be.

This one smells exactly like maple syrup. It is a strong and sweet smell. Reminds me of pancakes. This is perfect for the mornings. The taste is sweet and mild. It is a good tea overall, but I got a strange starch-like taste in the back of my mouth… almost like cardboard. But it was great with sugar and milk. I didn’t taste that strange taste after adding those.

Got this from Dark Moon Tea when they closed but I believe it bore a different name from them (it does mention it’s The Tea Guys at the bottom).

Ever since I’ve had Joy’s Teaspoon’s Chocolate Pot du Tea sample I’ve been trying all kinds of chocolate teas trying to find one as good. The bad news is I haven’t found it yet, but the good news is I’ve got to have lots of chocolate tea.

To say that this doesn’t live up to Joy’s chocolate tea is not to say this is bad, just different. The description is right on, it is more aztec than hershey’s. Seems to have more of a dark chocolate taste than milk, which can make it a bit heavy at times. A splash of milk and my standby brown sugar splenda and I’m a happy camper.

But today? Today was very special. After trying Teavana’s cocoa mint and lamenting the shy cocoa flavor I had a brainchild and mixed these two teas together. NOW I get the ‘thin mint in a cup’ taste that so many on Teavana’s website mention. Perfect balance and I love the little mint tingle sensation I get after a sip.

It’s going to be a long afternoon when this runs out.

I’m, too, a big fan of Joy’s chocolate tea. That and Florence from Harney have been the only chocolate flavored teas I’ve liked so far.
