As I mentioned in my full-length article of this tea: http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/11/17/ayurvedic-slimming-tea-from-tea-of-life/ I find myself often confused by the ‘slimming’ claims that some tea companies choose to make. But I didn’t review this because I was trying it for it’s alleged slimming … I reviewed it because they sent me the tea to review.

I wasn’t really crazy about the flavor of it. The one redeeming quality of this tea is the cumin – I liked the warm, toasty flavor of the cumin. The green tea is light and buttery. The rest … blah.

I’ve never tried a “diet” tea that tasted good to me. :/

I can’t say that I’ve ever had a tea with asparagus in it before trying this one because I don’t think that I have. If I have, I don’t recall and I think I would have recalled trying a tea with asparagus in it. It’s just one of those ingredients that seems to be … weird. At least when it comes to tea.

This isn’t a terrible tasting tea, it’s actually on the tasty side. I don’t know if I taste the asparagus, but there is a distinct “veggie” sort of taste to it that could just be the green tea in this and the asparagus in there just amplifies it. It has an herbaceous/medicinal sort of flavor too.

It’s not a bad drink and it does inspire a sense of calm when I drink it, so at least it does what it says it will do.

This tea is ridiculously savory and all I can taste is cumin. I only drink it so that I feel more “hip” and “yogi-like”. I would NOT recommend purchasing this.

Ingredients: Green Tea with Lemongrass, Gotukola, Ginger, Lavender Buds, Cumin Seed, Fennel.

Flavors: Lemongrass

Even though this tea has a lot of the same spices as a typical masala chai blend would have, it doesn’t really taste like a typical chai. Typically with a chai, the spices are strong and assertive, and here, the black tea is the strongest note with the spices providing some background flavor.

The black tea is a robust and flavorful tea. Not bad for a teabag. Not bad for a Ayurveda tea.

Its an energizing blend. I like the spices in this, they add a depth to the flavor and rather than the focus being about the spices, it’s more about the black tea and the spices highlight that.

Not bad and it does deliver what it promises. It is, indeed, a stimulating cup of tea.

No thank you. I can’t stand the smell of it and while the taste is better then the smell it’s still…. blah

A tea called Slimming doesn’t sound appetizing to me. Heh.

When I brewed this, I was looking to relax a little bit. Maybe not destress so much as just something to find a sense of inner calm and I have to admit that this tea did that. It’s a functional tea that does what it claims.

The cumin is strong in this but it isn’t overwhelming. It has a sort of curry-ish type of flavor, with notes of green tea and citrus. I taste the ginger and licorice but I don’t get a lot of lavender flavor.

Overall, a pleasant tea. Most functional teas I find to be quite medicinal, but I like that this is a little more like a savory broth rather than a medicine. Here’s my full-length review: http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/04/22/ayurvedic-de-stress-tea-from-tea-of-life/

Back when I first tried this tea, I was experiencing a bit of … whatever it was that was going around. My husband had it, brought it home to me and our two daughters got it too.

Whatever it was, it didn’t last as long for me as it did for my husband. This tea may or may not have been responsible for the short duration of the cold. I don’t know. What I do know is that I started drinking this when I started feeling sick. And I drank a cup of it every day, and after I drank it, I felt a little better, and after about four days, I felt better overall. My husband, on the other hand, was sick for the better part of ten days.

This tea reminds me a bit of a soup broth. It has warming spices that taste of Indian cuisine: turmeric, ginger, cumin, coriander, and pepper. There is also a light, vegetative flavor from the green tea.

Normally, these functional teas … well, they taste functional. In other words, they don’t taste so great. But this one was something I found enjoyable. I didn’t feel like I had to drink this, I enjoyed it.

I’ve heard of veggie drinks but never veggie tea. One of the main ingredients is hathawariya, which translates to Wild Asparagus. Next is Lemongrass and then wild cherry. The smell is really relaxing. The taste is better then I thought it would be. This would be a good night time tea to calm ones senses.

Okay taste. Light smell, nothing special though. And yea I do actually feel less stressed out.

Ready for yet another tea oddity? This one is a bit more down to earth then other teas but it still has a few ingredients that I think will make your eyebrows raise. Centella Asiatica (Gotukola) is its name. Having an interesting background is its game. There is quite a bit that I could on and talk about with this herb, both its good and bad things but I figure if you guys are really interested you can do that on your own. It’s a short article so don’t worry. http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/gotu-kola-000253.htm
