I can’t get enough of this Nilgiri. Unfortunately I just used the last of it and need to order more.

TeaCast

This is really delicious. Dug this out of my tea-closet, and so glad I did. There are a lot of indifferent Nilgiris out there. This is not one of them.

I’m trying to play catch up today. I finished off my tin of this making a cold brewed iced tea. It’s quite good cold brewed, no trace of bitterness and just a hint of orange. I’m definitely going to buy some more of this tea, I think I miss it already! I brewed it overnight in the fridge.

Preparation
Iced 5 min, 45 sec

Yesterday as I went to my dentist appointment in the afternoon, the thermometer in the car said the temperature was 80 degrees! With this temperature to inspire me, I’m going to start trying a lot of my teas iced. I cold brewed this one all day in the fridge, and it was really good! I was able to get a second glass of tea from the same leaves as well. It was very mellow when cold brewed. You could tell the orange was there, but it was almost subliminal.

I will probably be preparing this tea again as a cold-brewed iced tea.

I was able to get three really good cups of tea from this today. Nice for a day off.

I bought a tin of this without sampling first, so it’s a relief to find out that I really, really like it. The orange is there, but is very subtle. I’m not that experienced at this stuff, so I can’t judge the flavor of the tea base, but it has a golden kind of flavor.

I got this to go in one of those travel mugs with an infuser. It is supposed to stand up to multiple infusions, etc, so I’m looking forward to trying it that way. I’m not quite ready to use the travel mug. I’m not sure why. I guess I’m wondering what kind of attention it will recieve at my workplace (large public high school.) It’s clear and they’ll be able to see that there are leaves.

The second infusion was almost identical to the first!!

A tea listed as #2 on the Chinese top 10 list.
Truly full of surprises as, after opening my first bag, I was a bit sceptical when I saw the little leafs.
Chestnut was the first thing that hit my senses.Very, very complex tea from the Jiang Su province in China that, as always with Chinese teas, is changing faces, mood and caracter between the first and the last brew of one portion.
Always a bit special and I cant help feeling that, whenever I drank a brew, that I have wasted it to the wrong occassion. This tea should be called ‘little prima donna’…

180 °F / 82 °C 1 min, 30 sec

drank Chocolate Mint by Teas Etc

I got a sample of this with my Teas Etc order. Like most rooibos, it has a coffee kind of vibe to it (at least to these tasebuds!) and that leads me to add creamer and sweetner. This has a nice mint flavor with just a hint of chocolate. I’m debating whether or not to order it again. I like it, but I’m not sure that I would want it often enough. I do need some non-fruity caffeine free options for evenings.

Absolutely lovely. Iced and sweetened at my favorite tea restaurant with lunch.

White and light, with the perfect amount of strawberry flavor and a nice array of other subtle flavors!

I had some of this earlier today. I started brewing it and then sort of forgot about it. (Ooops.) I think it steeped for about 5 minutes? I’m really not sure. Anyway, it was very good when steeped for longer than suggested. It had a much more intense flavor.

I can’t believe I’m the first one to try this! It has a really nice tart hibiscus flavor. The other ingredients don’t come forward and say “Hi!” but they do kind of moderate the hibiscus.

This is a nice tea, and it will be a good afternoon treat.

This tea has a very strong but pleasant orange flavor. Even though it’s a sencha, you can steep it for a full 3 minutes without it getting bitter.

Still intense and yummy. Great on a wet, cold day.

This is an intriguing, almost brothy Ti Kuan Yin. Not what I was expecting, but very good!

MKstuder

Hi Lainie. I’m not familiar with the term “brothy”. What does that mean?

Lainie Petersen

@MKstuder It has a savory, full bodied, quality, not unlike a soup broth. Make sense?

Little Yellow Teapot

Makes perfect sense. The term “brothy” sounds like a good one to add to any tea drinker’s lexicon, especially since tea leaves used to be made into a soup and actually eaten with the broth (at least, that’s what I’ve read, wasn’t there in person - not that old). Have added this tea to my shopping list. So many teas, such a little yellow teapot. :)

Don’t know why part of my text is lined out. Hmmm… character limit?

I could take or leave this one. It’s not bad, but nothing awesome either. PLUS…word to the wise…don’t oversteep! Doesn’t taste anything like mint if oversteeped. I had 2 Cups…one normal and 1 stronger…eeeek
