drank Raspberry Tart by Teas Etc

It smelled fine, but I didn’t like it – not a big fan of fruity teas, although I love raspberries. It was also too sweetish for me.

An enjoyable golden tea from China’s Yunnan province. A very smooth tea – rich and bold with a honey flavor and a light chocolate undertone. Not my favorite Yunnan by any means but definitely worth having on the tea shelf.

A very enjoyable Yunnan! This one is a winner – as suggested by many earlier reviews. I don’t think that I can add anything new but….if you see this tea on sale again, buy it and try it if you have not done so already!

I should note that the time listed below is higher than recommended because the second time I had this tea, I was distracted and forgot that I was making a pot. It probably steeped for 11-12 minutes before I remembered – the tea was still amazing (no bitterness at all).

My favorite… Always smooth and flavorful, never bitter or tannic no matter how long it’s steeped. And it is certified organic. Expensive for me for an everyday tea, but Teas Etc. has regular discount sales if you sign up for their email. I’d never identified the " sweet potato" nuances among the rich fruity and caramel flavors.. now I’m looking for it, thanks to others reviews.

A very potent and aromatic Rose EG! Stands up to it’s name. Floral Rose, That flavor you would expect from an Earl and the juicy bergamot, too! Levels of Flavors exceed expectations!

Just so you know, this really does go very well with mexican food when iced. In case you were curious or anything. :)

lime iced tea sounds like it’d go well with Mexican food anyway! Like a much healthier margarita.

30 g. of this in a gallon for iced tea at below steeping parameters before letting it cool and go in the fridge. 1/4 cup sugar to sweeten. I make my iced tea by the gallon and really should do this more often as I suck down about 2x more tea when its iced. I’d clear out my inventory so fast this way.

Once its cold the tea loses the authentic lime flavor and becomes more limeade-esque. Not bad, and still making me want this with a plate of tacos (who am I kidding I always want tacos). I wonder if there’s any more lime flavored blacks out there? I shall have to see…

Kittenna

Lime flavoured teas seem to be rather scarce! And I love lime. (Consequently I’m dying to try this one now, hahahahaha!)

This was a sample from momo!

I am making most of this iced but I wanted to have the first cup hot just to see how it changes in flavor from hot to cold. It certainly smells like it would be the perfect iced tea ever, with a strong citrus/lime note immediately upon sticking your nose near the bag. My favorite mexican restaurant actually uses limes instead of lemons in their iced tea so that’s another reason I’m kind of excited to try it – I know from experience I prefer the lime over lemon addition.

Lots of leaf fragments in the last 1.5 tsp. I’m using for the hot cup – probably just from transit more than anything but there are tons of leaf crumbs floating in my tea, which, boo. :( It doesn’t bother me to drink it, I just don’t like seeing the tea all muddled. It’s a gorgeous mahogany color otherwise with the same limey smell. I bet this would taste like a mojito with some spearmint…. and it’s a black tea base to boot, which most mojito blend teas aren’t. Grr for thinking of this too late!

But OH MAN I’m not even complaining. This is pretty darn good hot – like I said, it definitely reminds me of that lime iced tea I’ve had before. The lime tastes perfectly natural and the black tea is smooth and strong, not bitter in the least. I’ll put just a tad bit of sugar in it when iced (like, 1/4 cup to a gallon, so less than a tsp. overall) but this has made me very happy indeed. I haven’t ordered from Teas Etc before but depending on how fast I go through this gallon that may be changing soon!

I need to try this soon, maybe tonight, I am doing mango vodka tea cocktail experiments and mango lime is always a winner…I still can’t get over being sent a POUND OF TEA

JoonSusanna

I never did get the story on this – so you were sent a pound of this tea?? Did you win a contest? The iced tea itself is pretty tasty – I’m kicking myself that I made the whole darn gallon and didn’t think about adding the Upton spearmint blend that was STARING at me the whole time.

Mango lime sounds awesome – are you using a mango tea for that?

LadyGray

I’m confused about the name though… Why on earth is it called persian?!

JoonSusanna

LadyGray – I really don’t know, unless maybe it’s specific to a species of lime? There didn’t seem to be any more info on their website about it, unfortunately. :/

momo

The vodka’s mango flavored but it honestly didn’t add anything when I tried it in lemonade, so I think when I do it I’ll add the mango tea I was using: http://steepster.com/teas/steep-city-teas/34759-miami-mango

Got it from a tea exchange…it took ages to finally get it so to get a pound of something was rather…overwhelming haha. I’m also going to borrow your spearmint idea.

Persian lime is just a more specific way of referring to limes (they’re also called Tahiti limes or I guess some places even just call them Mexican limes). They’re usually the ones in the grocery store. I’m guessing they went with it because it’s boring to just call it lime.

Well I’m awake and wrapped in my robe in a zombie like state (and looking very much like one this morning too). I need tea and I need food. … tea…must drink tea….zombie moan. No brains for me though this morning I think I will stick with fruit salad. Sticking on the fruity side of things this morning I will try this fruity based green Sencha tea. Another sample to use. :)

The blend looks pretty enough with green leaves and red petals finely chopped and mixed together with a few pieces of dried fruit. It has a sweet and fruity yet buttery scent.

Once steeped the tea is yellow in colour with a toasted, fruity, buttery aroma.

The Sencha is buttery, toasty, thick and bitter while the fruit is waxy, sweet and sour. I can’t get past this thick waxy taste that reminds me of the smell of manure (it’s strange how a flavour can remind you of a smell). The fruit is not really that fruity and I cannot tell what fruit it is or even guess. There is only a little bitterness and it can be over looked if I set my mind to it.

It’s drinkable but just not my ‘cup of tea’ and I’m glad I only ha a sample and now it’s gone.

This is great tea!! I hope the company adds it to the list of teas. My mom gave me some and I am in love. It has the right amount of chocolate for both smell and taste. My dad was not sure about a chocolate tea called it a girls tea but he likes. I was so impressed with the fact that this tea was able to stop my cravings for chocolate and its healthy. How lucky can that be.

Rather dark amber liquor, woodsy and deep, yet smooth and fruity. I’m rather fond of this one, since I tend to go for deeper, slightly more oxidized oolongs. A nice alternative for those who find fresh oolongs too buttery/milky.

I finished the Golden Monkey I had in my stash this morning and drank it on the way to work. I do love this tea. It has such a nice sweetness.

What other golden monkey teas have you tried and liked?

This was my morning cup on my way to work. I really enjoyed lingering with this tea during my (hour ugh,) commute. Many of the previous tasters have already gone over this in great detail. The leaves of this tea are fluffy and beautiful! The mouth feel is soft. The flavors are all muted but slightly sweet. A REAL WINNER! I gave this tea 100!!!

On to the tea. I received this generous sample from SoccerMom. The leaves are quite stunning and fuzzy. The liquor is silky and finishes on a sweet note. I distinctly taste the spicy/peppery note but the malty flavor is absent. There is a slight earthy quality to the tea that I am enjoying immensely. My first cup was finished rather quickly, but the second steep cooled to room temperature. Both steeps were unique and pleasurable. I’m sure I could squeeze out a third steep, but it’s almost time to head home from the office. Yay! I might have to pick up where I left off today. This is a great tea to have on constant standby.

drank Mango Nut by Teas Etc

I’m not sure about this one. I might have to give it a little time, maybe a few tastes. My initial impression is a whole lot of meh.

Fragrance, dry leaves: Coffee. Okay, I’m beginning to think that all nutty rooibos blends smell like coffee to me. There’s coffee and there’s a sort of generally tropical thing going on, but I don’t know that I can actually smell coconut and mango. I’m just a teensy bit on the irked side that the list of ingredients doesn’t actually contain the word mango anywhere, just “flavoring.”

Fragrance, brewed tea: Coffee. Generally tropical something or other. Also, something nutty. But not specifically coconut-ty.

Flavour: There’s the coconut! And even the mango, sort of. It’s not really evident, but because I know it’s there, I can search for it and find the flavour.

In the end, it may just be that I’m not a fan of these tropical flavours. It may be that I should try this iced. It may be that I wasn’t paying enough attention and didn’t steep it properly. For the time being, what I’m feeling is that something is missing here. I’ll try it again at a later time and hopefully improve my rating.
