I was on vacation last week, and I chose to mostly take a vacation from the internet as well. So I didn’t get around to logging much, but I did have this most mornings. A nice way to start the day except the morning I made it iced instead of hot. Unless my taste buds are just weird, this tea just doesn’t work as an iced a.m. beverage.
Steeped three parts rooibos key lime with one part utopian jewel oolong. I liked this blend. Really smooth and all the tropical flavors compliment each other. I like the key lime on its own but the oolong seems to lack something so I’ll probably use it up faster this way.
Preparation
Second pot of the night…made a 4 cupper to finish this tea off. It’s a light, peachy tea, with just a touch of lemon. Very nice.
Preparation
After hard day at work I rushed home to sit and relax with my new favorite tea. I plan to order some of this for my Mom’s birthday (Can not think of a better present) lol
Preparation
This tea is beautiful. I Love the white tea that I find very soothing (just what I need tonight). This tea will be kept for Special times when I want to sit and relax with a wonderful tea.
The pearls were fun ofcourse.
Preparation
Wow is this good! Thank you Jaime for sharing this with me. It is like drinking an exotic cup of cider. The mouthfeel is very similar to apple cider. I got loads of sweet coconut and a nice bite of ginger. The red rooibos isn’t as notable in this as in other rooibos blends I’ve tried. This is magnificent. I think this is the best non-hibiscus tea decaf tea I’ve had of late. Just finished a 16oz mug and can’t wait til the water is done to have some more!
Preparation
That sounds good. I don’t often buy Teavana teas because their blends have so much going on… I guess I like plain teas better. But, I might have to try that.
LOL humangirl- I’m the opposite. I pretty much put everything I like in 1 blend (I’m the same way w/ sandwhiches and pizzas as well)… I almost died laughing when Frank @ 52teas came out w/ Kitchen Sink green cuz that is me!
Hah. I imagine I feel the same way in Teavana that my parents do when they go to Starbucks looking for coffee. “ZingyZangyBlueRazzLemonExplosion? Ooookay, but where’s the tea?”
You’re very welcome! I’m glad you like it. I’m hoping to get down to Nashville this weekend and get some more of it; it goes really fast when you’re brewing a pot every other night!
This is my first foray into “fancy tea” and I’m pretty happy with it. We brewed this as the first tea in our new cast-iron pot, so I had several cups over a few hour time period.
I thought it had a really light, almost sweet flavor. No bitterness at all. My uneducated tastebuds liked it a lot!
Preparation
I have really been slacking on my steepstering lately and its needs to be remedied – haha! I have been drinking tea but forgetting to log it.
First off – thanks Rachel for the opportunity to try this tea and congrats on being the steepster select today!
This tea smells a little different than normal earl grey which I like because I don’t really like earl grey but I like earl grey with additional flavors. I immediately smelled cinnamon and earl grey when the water hit the tea which intrigued me.
I had this tea with a splash of milk and I really quite enjoyed it. The earl grey flavor was mild and I can’t say that I could distinctly place the cinnamon and vanilla flavorings, but I was doing other things while drinking it. I can say that there was a certain complexity to the tea that is most likely due those flavorings. Very enjoyable cup!!!
Preparation
I was surprised that, for the number of cocoa components it contains, I didn’t pick up any chocolate in either flavor or fragrance.
I had High Hopes that I would be able to find a tea with a strong chocolate note (this really did not do it for me) I think I have been spoiled after tasting Chocolate and Creme by TreeFrog (note to self place order)
Preparation
This isn’t too bad when you want something warm with no caffeine. The raw herbal is bright with reds and yellows flecked with the light brown cocoa nibs. It smells strongly of chocolate and berries with a touch of chili.
When you prepare this, the chocolate fragrance in almost overpowering. The appearance is the one great downfall of this tisane; it looks like dirty dish water. The taste is a nice combination of chocolate and berry and the heat of the chili sneaks up on the aftertaste. As the cup cools, the berry flavor starts to take over and gets just a little tart.
One thing I don’t like about this blend is that I find it to be a bit wasteful. You have to use a lot of the mix to get a decent flavor profile. It takes three times the amount recommended by the merchant and you’re left discarding a hefty pile of mushy fruit bits.
