This tea is ok. Has a decent orange flavor. Thought I would try it cold, didn’t really like it, it tasted like the strange chalky flavor that vitamins sometimes have- the chewable kind. So in conclusion, it’s better got/want. It’s ok.

Prepared this tea today morning. I could not recall brewing it before, but I am pretty sure I did.

Anyway, to be honest, I was afraid it will be very artificial and tart. It is the second – tart. But it is black currant, so of course I expected it and I was prepared for it.

It was really juicy as well! So, taste is clearly black currant juice with refreshing aftertaste as lemon. It wasn’t artificial at all, though no black currant in? It was even quite mouth-watering, so this will be a cup for summer too I think. Enjoayble and simple :)

Generic fruit tea. Hints of strawberry and raspberry, tartness from hibiscus.

Yeah, I would like write more about this tea, but there is nothing to write about. Maybe it will be good iced or cold brewed.

drank Chai by Teekanne

This one was resting in cupboard for long time and I wasn’t really sure if I want to try it.

But today… I just wanted something warm and bit energy boosting.

derk wrote exactly what is this about; it is strong in cinnamon, it works well with base tea, I noticed notes of cloves and little of allspice. It is overall enjoyable, but nothing really to return. Maybe prepared in milk it would be bit better? Who knows?

drank Chai by Teekanne

CTC black tea with other unknown ingredients.

My focus was elsewhere when I brewed this Chai to follow lunch. I remember enjoying it but it’s very cinnamon oil forward in taste and smell. Worked great with the base tea, though, and it wasn’t drying like some spice-heavy chai can be.

drank Fennel by Teekanne

Much beloved fennel tea, that you can find in nearly every store in Germany. I first tried it at work from another brand and found it wasn’t bad. This one tastes like fennel and licorice. It’s meh. But it’s healthy and really helps to settle an upset stomach. I like the other brand I had a little better. This one is really reasonably priced. I paid less than two Euro. But almost all the tea bags busted on me.

Hmm.
Received from postcrossing again. Blackberry and pomergranate fruit tea. Interesting combination.

Brewed with boiling water, steeped for 5+ minutes. Watching Lego Movie during drinking.

This tea is as the movie. Colourful (deep red), crazy a bit (taste) and easy drinking (you do not have to think about it). It works quite well together, but hibiscus in is making it bit tart. I certainly notice more blackberry than pomergranate. But there is bit of both. Little sugar can make it wonderful drink for kids. I do not have kids and none were around while drinking it. But overall – it is nice one.

In Monday there is matching day for RedditGifts exchange and there is tea&coffee one. Do you guys take part? I even decided for whole world international. I will hit my head while sending it, but that’s life. Maybe I will get some great teas? Who knows.

Another thing, tomorrow to part-time job again. Inventory check. Quite far, but okay… I hope. So tomorrow only one tea for me.

I saw the RedditGifts Exchange. I’ve always been curious about them. Unfortunately with me having just bought a condo, I don’t have any tea budget so I can’t participate in something like that right now.

Matching was yesterday evening (here); I got someone in Canada, usually drinking sweet iced teas. Gonna send some fruit ones.

drank Fresh Orange by Teekanne
1548 tasting notes

Another tea from Martin :) I had two envelopes of this caffeine-free Fresh Orange, so I brewed one hot before bed last night and one cold overnight.

Hot was so full of bright, fresh sweet-tart orange flavor. At times I really did feel like I was drinking some freshly pressed valencia orange juice. But then there was also a little bit of that orange vitamin taste which said no, this is tea. And I did not object to that light vitamin taste. Really brilliant aroma and color, too.

Cold-brewed was just ok. There’s some hibiscus, rose hips and acidifier in the blend that give the tea a more noticeable acidity than when brewed hot, and the orange flavor is less pronounced. Regardless, it was a nice palate cleanser to have this morning.

Fresh Orange is a fun caffeine-free tea. I like it a lot and would keep it stocked, especially for summer.

Aww, yeah – this is a tea we keep on stocked all year long as it is really wonderful caffeine-free tea great for evenings.

Amazon has a large selection of Teekanne. I may have to try a few others. Do you have any recommendations?

Martin Bednář

Hmm, trying to recall some. Garden selection was pretty nice, as well Magic moments or Winter time.

But I can´t remember those so much as this one.

derk

Thanks!

derk

Martin, I finally got through all the teas from your end of the swap! You said this round of Fresh Orange you sent was newer. It seemed much “red” fruitier and less orange than the older stuff I tried in this note, but still with some vitamin taste. I enjoyed it iced with my lunch today. Thanks so much for swapping overseas TWICE!

Martin Bednář

Interesting. The blend should be same. At least they claim! Of course I did not a deep check of contents of tea bag. Maybe it was just older or something. Who knows?

I will be happy to make even third swap… but bit later I guess. Exam period starts TODAY (internal screaming), in two hours. I am happy that you liked all the teas I sent first even second time. And that you liked our family daily-drinker :D

Ooh wee its been awhile since Ive written a review. I’ve slowed down a bit on the tea drinking. But this is just your basic chamomile. Nothing to go crazy for but also a good staple. You can use it for a lot of stuff other than drinking. Its calming and soothing on the skin and you can add to DIY masks. Still just basic tho

I didn’t have this particular kind. Just regular chamomile and I’m not a fan. It’s week and I don’t like chamomile in general for drinking. I do still want to try a full leaf one to see if it makes a difference. This… not so much. Would only buy to make tea rinses or facial sprays

Very strong green tea aroma, refreshing and citrusy.
Unfortunately the taste is very watery and bland. There are slight citrusy, spicy and straw notes, but too scarce.

drank Black Lemon by Teekanne

Strong lemon aroma that gradually subsides, leaving almost only the base black malty tea.
The taste is slightly sour and slightly lemon, with strong malty and earthy notes.

Not bad, but if it comes to lemon teas, I definitely prefer those with peels instead of concentrated juice. They are just more rich and aromatic.

I am normally not much of a teabag person, but sometimes you gotta make some sacrifices… I wanted to have a tea on the go that I could brew and sip during classes/breaks and loose leaf just isn’t as quick and practical. So I decided to grab this cheap-ish box from the store and hope for the best.

First, the smell. It smells very strongly of the same artificial perfume-y cherry blossom flavoring that seems omnipresent in many Japanese snacks, candy and drinks during the Hanami season. So while it definitely reminds me of Japan, it was not exactly in the way I’d hoped. I usually don’t mind the taste but in this case there is just too much of it, even when brewed with twice the recommended amount of water (200ml/teabag). It tastes exactly how it smells, although the maltodextrin (sweetener) in this tea gives off a nauseous end note that lingers in your mouth for a surprisingly long amount of time. I haven’t tasted any cherry or tea notes either, which leaves this blend really flat tasting and one-dimensional.

Speaking of which, the tea (aka. the dust) itself wasn’t the absolute worst there could have been. Well, probably. It barely tasted like anything so I am unable to comment on it. The flavorings are overpowering any other nuance that could have even slightly redeemed this tea, and the sickeningly sweetness of the maltodextrin present in the blend unpleasantly reminds you hours after drinking that buying this tea was a horrible mistake.

I will, however, still finish the box. I mean, it’s not so revolting that I had to throw it out on the spot, hence why it got such a high rating, but still vile enough that I will be sure to never buy this again. I’m sure some people who really like the Japanese cherry blossom flavoring could still like it somewhat. With milk, it tastes similarly to a less watery KOCHAKADEN Cherry Royal Milk Tea with less emphasis on the cherry and I found it more bearable that way.
