Helllooooo Steepster! It has been a while yet again! Life has been keeping me busy with helping plan my bestie’s wedding, her stagette, bridal shower, etc..and work being extremely crazy, along with the usual summer activities ie. keeping the yard up, trying to stay healthy and run outside a lot, etc etc haha. So yeah, I honestly have not been drinking much tea as it’s been warm here and life has really just been so busy.

But this week, we have hit a cold, dreary, rainy spell of weather…and to match, my office is miserably cold. I also think I obtained a small cold from camping in very chilly weather in Banff this weekend. Thus, out comes tea again. Yesterday I had a cup of the Skinny and neglected to log it..today is my last tea bag of this. Keeping my hands and body warm. I am getting excited for fall to arrive so I can get back into the fall teas, I see DT has out their fall collection today :D going to hit that up for more Pumpkin Chai of course. Anyways, this tea is the same as always, warming, soothing, sweet and lemony. An old friend. The water at my work sucks, but ah well. See previous notes on this tea!

Fjellrev

Hope your summer’s been going well! Festival season galore.

mrs.stenhouse12

@Fjellrev – It has indeed been a fun summer just super busy! Haha not much down time for just relaxing and reading, or going to the lake even. Ah well, keeps life interesting :) have you been to many of the festivals this year? Hope yours has been great too!

MrQuackers

I only get sick when the weather is nice. Not while spending weeks in the rain. Lemon balm and honey sounds like something you could make with a lemon and a honey. Sooooo looking forward to Halloween.

mrs.stenhouse12

@MrQuackers – I definitely think the at zero mountain weather and late nights is what did me in, as well as not taking my vitamins haha, I always end up sick when I don’t take my vitamins! This tea is quite sweet actually for being lemon related, very soothing :) and cheers to Halloween, one of my favorite holidays! #soon

This tea is like an old friend. I used to drink this all the time before I really got into loose tea, especially the year back in university when I quit caffeine haha (also, a whole YEAR haha). It’s sweet, lemony, creamy, and actually pretty good for a bagged herbal. It is calming me down and warming me at work, as I am having a frustrating day between a project going poorly and the cold office. Happy I picked up a new tin of this on my lunch break. Yes, it was a bit expensive for what it is, but it’s tasty, so I will roll with it. See previous notes on this tea. (upping rating slightly)

Also, man, the last note I wrote on this was back when I only had 1 tea steeper….LOLOL. Now I have at least…6..I think, not including gongfu teaware. :D

Kristal

I really don’t mind some of Tetley’s herbals. Perhaps I shall try this one :)

mrs.stenhouse12

@Kristal – I hope you like it if you do end up trying it! It’s the one I like the best of Tetley (of the few I have tried anyways)

Kristal

Good to know :)

Kristal

Bought it, and I do like it :) review is about to come up!

mrs.stenhouse12

Good to hear!! Happy you enjoyed it :)

So this is my tea tonight. I am madly studying for my final tomorrow, and the boyfriend is done his til Monday, so I’m actually at my house tonight and I forgot my loose leaf steeper at his house! Gah, I also don’t have much caffeine free tea here, definitely not any loose, as the only loose that is here is my wonderful VERDANT ORDER!! And I can’t drink it yet! Booo, I will wait til this weekend.

Anyways, after my tirade above, this tea is actually pretty good. It’s fairly mild, but it’s a nice little brew. The elderflower makes for quite a sweet smell in here, and the lemon holds its own. Now I have to get back to the books.

This is my comfort tea. I’m never without a box of it in my cupboard. I won’t deny that loose leaf tastes “better” but nothing will ever replace Tetley’s comfort factor. On a side note, it’s also perfect for dunking cookies!

mynameismoe

oh man, i used to LOVE dunking my cookies in this tea! :D

A review of Naturally Decaffeinated Green Tea by Tetley Tea

Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ teaspoon

Liquor Color: light yellow
Leaf Characteristics:

I find green tea to be the tea that I consume the most. So here is to fixing another cup of green tea. I take one tea bag and put it in my cup and pour the boiled water into my cup and leaving it to steep for several minutes.

This tea’s color is what I continue to be amazed at since it really does brew lightest yellow and not brown and the tea’s aroma hints at being vegetal. As I sip this tea I try to take in its smoothness and delicateness. I find this tea to be very relaxing and soothing.

I mean it is a quiet day and time for a nice cup of tea which happens to be a cup of green tea.

I purchase green teas and most store brand teas when they are on sale for less than $3.00. And while at the grocery store I found this Tetley tea to fit this budget and so I took a box and put it in the grocery cart. This is indeed a treat as I have yet to taste Tetley Teas and to review their teas.

So last evening I decided to try this Tetley tea. I take one tea bag and put it in my cup adding just boiled water to my cup, leaving it to steep for several minutes.

Tea brews a light yellow color and I find this very lovely since it is not brownish. The tea’s aroma is mild and slight astringent and when I take a sip of the tea it is stinging at first but the tea becomes smoother and more palatable. So I drink on until finished.

In all, this tea is smooth and clean with a freshly astringent finish to it. It is a a very mild tea. The tea bags are small disk like pouch with no strings, similarly to The London Cuppa Tea that I enjoyed last year.

This tea was purchased while grocery shopping at Price Chopper.

Its not a strong chai like some would find in other brands, but it was pretty good. I let the tea brew longer than recommended to give it a fuller body and added milk and sugar.

I would recommend this to someone who isn’t a fan of pungent chai teas but would like something different that the traditional orange peoke.

Hmm really rather disappointing for me. Certainly a popular tea here in the UK, but me thinks they are somewhat relying on good marketing etc because, for me at least, the tea leaves quite a lot to be desired. Not enough Assam in there for my liking. Think im going to stick with my Kenya and Assam blend in Punjana. Yet to be beaten!

drank Green Lemon by Tetley

I’m starting with a cup of this tea this morning, it was a good luck gift from a friend. The good luck part was due to me needing a doctors appointment to tell them my physiotherapist has recommended I get some orthotics for my torn ankle ligament (that is still giving me hell 2 months down the line). After two weeks of trying I finally managed to book an appointment so all I can do now is wait to be picked up by taxi and taken to what I consider to be the second circle of hell….NHS health care.

I’m not really complaining about all of the NHS, after all they saved my husband last year from cancer and my mother from cancer a few years earlier. My doctors however is given my district and I have to attend what is mentioned as being the worst GP’s office in Leicester. The staff are rude, the doctors are all temp and don’t care and I know I’m going to have to sit in the waiting room for over an hour because “the doctor is running late”.

As you can see I am getting stressed just thinking about going….around an hour or so now for my actual appointment. It’s times like this that I go for green tea as it soothes me. Sipping this I can see lemon tree’s and green tea plants next to each other in a peaceful and quiet far away land with millions of cats running around and playing. sigh of relief It’s wonderful.

Taste wise it’s a little bitter and by far not the best that I have on my shelf but I appreciate the thought of receiving this as a gift so that takes away some of the harshness.
It’s lemony and fairly fresh tasting for bagged tea but great to grab to take to work for convenience.

I ranted I now but right now I am not looking forward to getting orthotics, a large plastic cast that is worn around the ankle and makes me stand out in a crowd (which is always the last thing I want)…..oh joy.

I just got to my dr’s office and have just been told that my dr is running at least 45 minutes late so my appointment has been moved back 60 minutes. I forgot my book at home so now I can just sit here and stare at people to freak them out, only bit of fun to be had. :(

Nik

Awww… =( Did the appointment go well, in the end?

KittyLovesTea

Yes it did go well, my doctor is very eccentric and had me walk around in the reception without any shoes on so he could monitor my back ankle. The other visitors couldn’t help but look with surprise lol. I’m being referred to a specialist now to diagnose and build my orthotics. :)

Nik

Glad that’s sorted, then. I reckon as long as he knows what he’s doing, he can be as eccentric as he wants, eh? =)

Having this one for breakfast today. It’s right around zero right now but feels colder! Anyway, this tea smells amazing and wintery, but I’m not sure why I didn’t just brew up a mint tea, since I prefer it! Probably subconsciously screaming CAFFEINE!!

Note quite chocolate-y enough, however if you throw this in some warming milk and additional spices, it’s quite good.

Surprisingly satisfying for a bagged tea. So delicious and soothing, the cinnamon stands out.

For bagged tea, it is one of my favourites. Fruity and well rounded.

I’m not usually very fond of blueberries…

But this tea was alright. A tart flavour if over-steeped, but a good steep time (imho) results in a nice, light (enough) flavour that I can, unfortunately, only bear a teacup of.

drank Earl Grey Vanilla by Tetley

This tea is the definition of cheap vanilla flavour. It sounded like a really unique combination so I thought I’d give it a try, but I was definetely disappointed. It smells like vanilla perfume to me, which is pleasant but nauseating to have in a tea.
