I got this as part of my soup combo as a Country Style, figuring it sounded decent. And that remains my assessment after having it, its decent for a bagged tea. It isn’t even in the same league as any of the loose leaf/ fruit blend berry teas that I have tried. It was weak despite brewing for a long time, but I guess that is to be expected when its bagged and mass produced. I didn’t care enough to finish the cup…
I’m setting up my new computer and sipping tea and thinking about how people’s tastes change. I’ve been on a Windows based PC for over ten years. I learned typing on Mario Teaches Typing when I was six years old and I played my first games in DOS. And yet here I am with a brand new Mac computer, something I never thought I’d do, sipping a tea I once frowned at after swallowing.
I used to be a water only person, but my husband is half Irish and half English so tea comes with the territory. It’s been a long road (several years) for the conversion to take place, but I can now say I love tea and I am looking forward to the new flavors and experiences that will come along with it. I remember several years ago trying this tea for the first time, loving the smell, but being unable to finish it after the first sip. I just finished my first cup while writing this note. I wonder where I’ll be next year, and just where my tastebuds will take me.
Preparation
I was excited seeing all the new speciality teas at my local grocery, as I’m currently living in a very remote area without much variety available. you can hardly taste any vanilla.. the smell is pretty bland too. its ok but its nothing special, i wouldn’t recommend it or buy it again. however, its the only earl grey i own right now so i will save it in case anyone has the craving.
I was really excited to try this tea as I love fruit-flavoured green teas. Most of my green teas are loose leaf and haven’t had too much experience with pre-bagged tea. This tea smells quite delightful but I was very disappointed in the taste. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is but something doesn’t taste quite right. I will continue to use it when I am running out of time as I’m out the door
My interview went ok Friday but I won’t get the job. I do not have 3D drafting experience. The earliest I can take a class for this is August. I was afraid I was going to not feel well during the interview but I felt great, maybe adrenaline kicked in or something. Anyway after playing at church this morning I came home and hit the couch. After a 5 minute power nap I woke up and the crud hit me hard. I feel like %^&*#! Chased Advil with multiple Mtn Dews. Had to run to the funeral home for a church friend. Came home and plopped on the couch again, where I intend to stay. Now I am in need of iced tea. This was made. It is cold. Decaf is probably a good thing at this point. Hope tomorrow brings dry warmer weather and the end of crud.
It was pretty clear in their job description but I figured maybe I will be the best not qualified candidate they interview. :) Hey, can’t happen if you don’t try.
Sorry to hear about the job. Hope you feel better quickly. Good luck in your continuing search. I didn’t know you were a drafter. What discipline? Civil, mechanical?
Well, the good thing was that you felt better during the interview. Hope you feel better soon. And you are right, nothing can happen if you don’t try.
Nicole, 2D architectural sort of. I made drawings for a stone fabricator. I’ve worked on several buildings on Pennsylvania Ave in DC, and once on the Pentagon.
MegWesley, Exactly! One of the realities of life that escapes too many people.
Ah, I started in civil and have ended up in structural. Bridges. Mostly in MO & KS but one in WY and the new mess in Arlington with all of their HOV lanes they have been putting in. :) Architectural drafting always appealed to me.
Not even close to what I wanted but it was cold. My home is 80 degrees today as it was yesterday. The cooling guy just left – a tripped relay and low on coolant. Kinda figures, it is 20 years old. Not having a job, I was holding my breath and praying it would not be the compressor. I am on oxygen and can’t tolerate humidity. I have to have A/C. So doing my happy dance and saying some praises. Once again an example that sometimes the blessing is in the sustaining through the drought. When it gets back down to 72 in here I am having real tea, and then wait for the storms to roll through tonight.
I think I figured out why my taster has been off. I thought it was because I burned my tongue on too hot of a cup. This morning I realized I recently re-started using generic Flonase for allergies. I don’t remember it dulling my senses before. Hope it passes soon. For now this was cold and easy. For bagged decaf it ain’t too shabby.
Yep, its decaf and its a tea bag. I still like it. This morning I grabbed a bag and poked it into a glass bottle, filled with water, put the lid on and put it in the fridge. This afternoon the result was pretty tasty. Cold brewed this doesn’t taste a lot different than brewed. Maybe a little mellower. Mostly this just took no effort to prepare. Yeah, lazy me.
Hubby’s first favorite tea! It was given to us by a British lady who said she found it to be the most akin to what she was used to drinking in England.
