Another that I had yesterday.

Before this, I had tried only one other oolong. It was overly perfume-y and not something I was very fond off. When I found out this was oolong, I was disappointed at first. I’m so glad that I bothered to try it though! This teas smells absolutely wonderful. It has a creamy, oolongy smell and tastes just the same. The vanilla flavor blends really well with the oolong taste. I will definitely be stocking up on this one!

Ooh! Sounds delicious!

Emilie

It really is! I only have enough for a cup left and I’m planning on giving it to my mom, otherwise I would send you some. I really recommend it

Kittenna

Hahaha, don’t worry, I wasn’t trying to wrangle one out of you :D I have totally added it to my shopping list though. Any tea that someone rates that high is worth trying!

As you know, I get very excited over tea.. especially over blends that I’ve been dying to try. Mandarin Silk Oolong is just one of those teas that has been on my shopping list forever. The scent is gorgeous, just as I imagined it would be. It’s smooth, a little bit creamy and sweet. I have noticed that I sometimes get the silky mouthfeel with this tea, but not with every cup. The mandarin flavor comes out as an almost undetected tartness towards the end of the sip. I very much like this tea, but realized that it took me a few cups to reach this conclusion. My first few cups left me unimpressed, but changing the water temperature (from around 190-185 to about 175) helps the creamy and sweet notes come out. I am not sure how this compares to Art of Tea’s Mandarin Silk. I would be interested in trying and comparing both!

An enjoyable starter Pu-Erh. I have had richer more complex before but even my hubby liked this one! That’s saying a lot!

I steeped this tea twice to see what would happen, and I must say both times were quite good.

The first steep (5min) was a well-balanced chai with the spices all being distinguishable. Oddly enough, the one thing I couldn’t really taste was the rooibos, which seems to have been lost among the spices. With a small dash of milk this blend is particularly delicious.

The second steep (7min) was still quite good, though the ginger seemed to dominate making it a spicier cup on the whole. Still delicious; makes me glad I have 7oz. of this to go through!

Purchased some samples from Persimmon Tree and this was the first one I tried.
I was pleased with the aroma in dry form and could really smell the hibiscus coming through and it had a very pleasing almost cobbler like aroma. I am not one for floral teas but the hibiscus was somehow just right in this one.
Brewed it was very fruity but not sweet. I think I would have preferred it a bit sweeter however I did not feel a need to add sweetener either.
Maybe I was too tired still, or too lazy, but I enjoyed it just fine without any sugars.
Something about how fresh it tasted – like peaches from the orchard was just fine with me this morning. I will have to have another cup but I really did not get the cinnamon in it.
It was a tiny bit astringent.

I did the same thing recently. :)

I will look forward to your tea logs on them! :) I got about 10 different teas or so…looking forward to another one!
Had the rest of this iced today – pretty good – not the best but good.

Sipdown! 1 tea down, 8,000 to go. :)

I have enjoyed this today as an iced tisane and also hot. It’s one of the better green rooibos blends I’ve had but I doubt I’ll seek it out again, it just isn’t that memorable….

Awesome! I feel like we just had a Virtual Tea Tasting together as we both consumed the exact same tisane at the same time! Thanks again!

I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it either. Nice and peachy and good for the summertime, iced or hot. And, I need to find things without caffeine for the afternoon. See previous notes.

My apologies for uploading this low res picture but I cannot seem to grab anything better from their website. If anyone figures out how to do this and wants to update the photo please, feel free!

So I thought this was a delicious herbal blend. The lighter green rooibos makes a delicious accompaniment to the fruit infused flavors here, peaches, strawberries and citrus. I tend to like fruity things and it is quite a bit on the peach side but I can still taste a bit of strawberry and orange. You could easily add a touch of sugar to this if you wanted it to be a bit sweeter. I thought it was great plain and this would also make a nice caffeine free iced tea. Delicious and refreshing and thankfully, NO HIBISCUS! Yay! I’m a Happy Camper. :)

If you liked Green and Fruity from David’s Tea I would recommend this as well…

Pic updated. ;-))

TeaBrat

How did you do it? Now I need to know! The drag and drop method did not work.

ScottTeaMan

I have a Windows snipping tool. Initially, I couldn’t save it, but the tool allows me to save any picture on the web. I used Nero Phtosnap to crop the pic, saved it…….and TADAAAHHH!! :))

ScottTeaMan

If you have Windows you might have this tool. It is under PROGRAMS, then ACCESSORIES.

TeaBrat

I’m on a Mac! But thank you for the effort… :)

ScottTeaMan

Don’t they ahve a tool similar to that?

ScottTeaMan

Not a problem…….you’re welcome. :))

TeaBrat

Perhaps it does but I’m not exactly a power user… ;-)

This is another sample I’m trying today from the Persimmon Tree…

I liked this, it’s a black blend of nilgiri and assam, there’s a bit of red rooibos in here as well but I can’t taste it. The peach and apple flavor is very mild and I was somewhat surprised by that, I was expecting it to be stronger. I think perhaps this needs a resteep at a lower temp? It’s nice right now but I am not totally impressed. Will update this if my impressions change…

I am digging this a bit more today and raised the score. I’m not fond of a lot of rooibos teas but the banana in this one is nice! (see previous notes)

The dry leaf smelled great but the wet leaf smells slightly medicinal… uh-oh

I did let this steep for a while, I don’t know how long because I got busy with some other things. The rooibos has a slightly woody flavor and I am definitely getting a lot of banana and fruit but I don’t taste too much chocolate in here. I guess given the name I thought it would be more chocolate-y but it’s a banana tea for sure.

I did give it a resteep and added soymilk but then most of the banana was gone…

I did like it fairly well for a rooibos but not sure if I would purchase any more.

I’m finishing off the rest of this sample today. This is a nice dessert tea – you definitely get the caramel element and it is slightly sweet but no weird aftertaste. I would consider getting this again. Just upped the score a few points…

Another small sample from the Persimmon Tree…

hmm, this is pretty nice! It’s a Chinese green, I believe with a bit of green rooibos and some caramel flavors. I saw a few little round pods in my dry tea, not exactly sure what that was. This is definitely on the sweet side which would make it more of a dessert tea for me, though I am not finding the sweetness to be too overwhelming which is nice. It has a nice caramel flavor and aroma. I might consider a small can of this for when those after lunch cookie cravings arise. :)

Recently I was just looking for a place to buy a can of plain roobois so I could try making my own blends. I stumbled across the Persimmon Tree and discovered they offer FREE shipping via first class mail, even on a little dinky order like mine. Yay! So I discovered I could also get these $1 sample packs which are about enough to make 2-3 cups of tea.

I apologize for the low res picture but I could not get a better one from their website.

This tea is weird, man… WEIRD! I do like lemongrass, ginger and verbena but mixed together with the honeybush, which is kind of earthy and sweet this is a bit of a disaster, IMO. I will certainly finish the sample but this is not going on the repeat purchase list. Ew. the other ones I got do look better! =)

My first Persimmon Tree tea taste and I’m in total nirvana! This is like liquid gold, or if dreams were fluid…

Sense I not make. This is because of the tea! ;)

I love the flavor palette – vanilla, and lemon myrtle, which you may not think can roll together. But these get along well. So utterly delicious and smooth…

Smells divine as well… This will be a Keen Tea Thyme cupboard staple!

Neat combination!

Still pretty good! Still rather shocked because of the ingredients as I don’t generally go for half of the items in there! Slightly juicing, chamomile, herbal, floral, citrus. Interesting.

Quickly sipping but not rating officially yet…will write more tomorrow…but I am surprised by this one as I usually don’t prefer herbally tisanes. This is rather good tho!

This is surprisingly tasty. I didn’t think I’d like it as I’m not a big fan of chamomile, I don’t generally favor ginseng, and herbal teas just aren’t really my favorite. But this is quite tasty. Everything is nicely balanced… not too peppery or spicy from the ginger, barely any ginseng flavor to speak of, the chamomile and peppermint are but a touch, and there is a lovely citrus-y tone in the background. I could easily drink this on a daily basis. Definitely one of the better herbals I’ve tasted.

I am enjoying a cup of this rooibos blend this evening as I try to wind down after a long, exhausting day. (I am busy working on some holiday gifts)

This is a fun blend, with a delicious vanilla and black currant flavor. The hibiscus doesn’t overwhelm the cup. Neither does the flavor of the rooibos. It’s very pleasantly balanced.

Everything about this ‘sings’…“pleasant”. It smells lovely, looks pretty, and tastes great! It’s a lighter brown in color post infusion and the flavor is wonderful.

The Raspberries and Pom are tastefully done and paired nicely with the gentle green tea tastes. I’m so thankful this does NOT have hibiscus in it! Woot! Awesome!

There is a hint of tang but an invited one…not over staying it’s welcome – I like that.

I paired the end of this cup with a new product called Matcha Fruit Energizer from Jamba. It had Pineapple, Almonds, Cranberries, Cranberries, Thompson Raisins, Yogurt Matcha or Matcha Yogurt Raisins, and Cherries. Very Very good stuff! Great snack!

And it went well with this tea! :)

I’m loving the aroma that is wafting up out of my tea mug at the moment. I can smell the pomegranate and raspberry and it smells wonderful.

And it tastes nice too. The flavors are light. The green tea is fresh and has a moderate vegetative taste – not exactly what I would classify as mild because it is much more pronounced, but it isn’t strong either. Somewhere happily in between. It has a very fresh, crisp sort of taste to it. Light and refreshing.

The pomegranate and raspberry flavor are also light, but I think it’s good in the case of this tea, because if these flavors were stronger I think they’d overwhelm the green tea. I like that the green tea is in balance with the other flavors.

Overall a light, sweet, tart cuppa that is quite enjoyable.

I just got this one over the weekend and am so happy to receive more Persimmon Tree Tea!!!! I have had great tasting experiences with the ones I have tried up to this point!

This isn’t overly scented. I can pick up on the berry notes but it’s hard to tell that it’s currant that plays the part based on aroma. I can smell the sweetness of the rooibos. I can smell a creaminess to it, too!

This ‘brews’ quite dark…almost like a Rooibos Black Tea blend. Perhaps the darkness is because of the currants, no sure.

When the mix of loose ingredients hit water or should I say the water hit the ingredients I can smell the currants more. It’s a nice aroma.

The flavor is really wonderful…here’s why…

The Rooibos is noticable but there are enough other flavors happening, too, that it’s not ALL ABOUT the Rooibos! The Hibiscus is barely there and I totally love that. THIS is what other companies should take note on! Hibiscus should be on the assist or even a subtle enhancer and not over done! At least in my book – I know others out there like it…just not usually my thing but this is NICELY DONE!!! The white chocolate is lovely. Again, somewhat subtle, but nicely done! It surely contributes to the overall creamy-factor! I can taste the hints of sweet, creamy, white chocolate, berry, and find it to be extremely pleasing and smooth! Velvety!

I like this much more than I thought I would! YAY! Another winner from TPTTC!

This sounds awesome. I’ll have to try it!
