Ah, now that’s more like it. Brewed at 212 rather than 195 (and just how do you get the degree symbol to show up?).

It’s both floral and fruity. The peach is obvious, but not overpowering. No bitterness when brewed at this temperature. It’s a smooth, pleasing cup that is delicious hot, but I suspect would be even better iced on a hot summer day (though I hope those are far behind us now).

Tried this out with the “oolong” setting on my One-Touch. Normally I just brew this like a black tea (the package, after all, says to pour boiling water over the bags).

It’s barely peachy at all at this temperature, and the tea itself has a strange bitterness to it that I hadn’t noticed before. Going to make another small pot (2 cups) with boiling water to see how they compare.

Drinking the last of this tea this morning. I’m rather sad to see it go, and will probably reinvest in another tin sometime in the future. It’s a great tea for wrapping up in a blanket on the back porch and watching the world wake up.

This is a lovely wintertime blend. The fruits and spices almost beg to be sipped whilst sitting in front of a roaring fire. It’s very reminiscent of the spiced tea that my granny used to mix (which was made with instant tea, but we won’t hold it against her). There’s definitely some citrus notes to this, and you can taste the cloves. The black tea used as the base is strong enough to match the fruit/spice flavors without being lost or turning bitter.

I’m nearly out of this tea; perhaps have 1-2 pots worth left. I can definitely see myself getting another tin of this in the future.

drank Ginger Peach by The Republic of Tea

I’m still sick with this stupid cold! I am well over two weeks into this thing now. I have Nuvola teas to review, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to taste them well enough, so they’ll have to wait. Ugh.

I snagged this from work because I thought the ginger in it would help. While I can taste it, I don’t think there’s enough in it to really do anything medicinally. Also, I don’t remember it being this boring. Something about it tastes sort of artificial to me now. Like Peach Nehi. Lowering my rating a bit.

I kind of had the same reaction to this tea after a few cups. The ginger definitely is pretty light. I hope you feel better soon!

My feeling about The Republic of tea is that all of their teas are really too weak to give sufficient flavor. They send them to me for review and then I have a hard time giving them one because I do not do bad reviews. The Eat, Pray, Love tea was okay. Not to my taste, but good for someone who is not heavily into tea. Their Pink Ribbon line in the pink tins tastes good, actually, but it is hard to taste the tea itself.

get better soon :)

drank Ginger Peach by The Republic of Tea

Of the three Republic Of Tea flavors I’ve tried in the past few days, this has been the best. The peach taste is not overwhelming, and it balances well with the black tea. The ginger is a little more subtle than I was hoping for, but it’s there, and it’s nice. It gives the tea a more satisfying finish and makes my mouth tingle a little.

Ginger is something sort of new to me in teas, so I’m still getting used to it, but in this case I like it. It reminds me of ginger ale. Like maybe some delicious ginger ale/tea/peach cocktail. I’d love to try this iced.

Purple liquid + HUGE green water bottle = grey-black beverage! I cold brewed this tea since I didn’t have time to heat some water this morning. It was… umm… interesting. I can’t say I want to buy this tea. It kept me hydrated all day! I think it might taste good hot. I’m not sure since I’m not a fan of hot fruity teas.

Wow, I just realized that I haven’t yet written a full-length review for this tea! I guess I’m going to have to do that soon.

Anyways, I really like this one. It is the first that I tried of the raw green bush offerings from The Republic of Tea. Yummmmmmmy!

AWESOME!

This is really good. The plantain tastes a lot like banana – but not quite… it has a starchier flavor – this is very true to a plantain taste… or at least, true to what I remember a plantain tastes like, it’s been a while! And the coconut is delightful in this blend … a very nice balance of the tropical flavors. The green rooibos is not strongly distinguishable, but I can taste it’s fresh, somewhat fruity, somewhat woodsy, sweet note that it imparts.

This is really good. It would be awesome iced too.

That’s the 1st time I’ve seen a plantain tea.

This is actually pretty good for a bagged tea. Much stronger than I expected. Next time I’ll definitely steep for less time, though. Maybe four minutes is all that’s needed. This is the usual hot tea we serve where I work.

Anyway, it’s your standard black tea, ordinary, and surprisingly high in caffeine. If I was looking for a wake-up rush and was out of coffee, two bags of this would do the trick. Also, I think a lemon slice and some honey would make this glorious. I’d be happy to try the loose leaf version if the opportunity arises.

Amazing the difference fresh honey makes over store bought honey!

Saw this at work today and I was curious. I usually don’t like rooibos, but I make an effort to try them from time to time.

Anyway, all I had was honey to sweeten it, so I tried it plain first. It’s a little on the sour side, which was unexpected, and the vanilla taste is very strong. It lingers in the mouth in a pleasant way. And while the taste reminds me of an air freshener my grandmother used to have, it’s not bad. I definitely can taste the pomegranate (and not that weird artificial pomegranate taste some teas have). I added a dollop of honey after that and the flavor was improved, but it probably would have been better with sugar. The taste of the actual rooibos is practically non-existent.

My verdict is that this is drinkable, but not something I would pick up at the store myself. I can see others liking it a lot.

It’s ok, the raisin-y flavor is a bit too much for me, and I oversteeped the &@$! out of it so the stomachache it gave me is what I get for being too lazy to take the bag out of my thermos before drinking it! I won’t buy this again but I will finish the tin or swap a handful of bags. I really am trying to not hate green tea!

Another warming evening cup. I wish there was more ginger flavor and warmth coming through in this. Love the pineapple flavor and strength though!

Taking down a few notches for not being as fruity tasting as it is scented. Great tea to sniff, but I’ve had better flavored greens…oh well.

Hoping this will help me ease into my morning with a light bit of caffeine. Yesterday I started off with a bang (3 coffee’s a latte and a large black iced tea). I think my body needs a rest. Love the ripe pineapple aroma of this blend.

Jaime

I’m hoping to pick this up this afternoon if the coffee shop has it!
