Yum!
This tastes more like creme and less like caramel to me, but I love how rich and flavorful the black tea base is … and the creaminess of this cup is really delicious. The caramel is more like an undercurrent of flavor that is sort of there the whole time, but really emerges toward the end of the sip …
Really yummy.
In the pouch, this smells like a box of Red Hots, and resembles redwood chips and dead flowers. Brewed, it yields a nice rich amber color and smells of Red Hots and a childhood medicine whose name escapes me. Tastewise, it’s not doing a thing for me. It tastes just the way it smells, like Red Hots and medicine. I definitely will not be trying this again!
Preparation
I’m an Earl Grey lover so I thought I would give this variation a shot. I found it to be brisk and soothing at the same time. It is very heavy on the lavender, but the citrus and vanilla help support it well. The aroma is lovely and reminds me of a lavender and vanilla perfume oil I wear occasionally. It’s not something I will brew on a regular basis, but I’d like to keep a little on hand for the right occasions.
Preparation
OMG. Chunks of pineapple, nuggets of pecans, tiny toffee crumbles and bits of coconut are scattered throughout this blend that reeks of a rich praline aroma. Brewed, it is a pale orange, but the aroma does change and is reminiscent of buttered popcorn. The taste, according to my partner to which I concur, is Jelly Belly buttered popcorn with a hint of buttery toffee, but I also taste a sweet note provided by the pineapple. While it definitely does not wholly taste like a praline truffle, it does not disappointment. Light, pleasantly aromatic, and delicately balanced…I will definitely keep this in stock.
Preparation
[Backlog] – I can’t believe that I almost bought a lot of this tea. I saw it and was thinking about it.. but settled on a smaller size instead. All I can say is that I’m happy I didn’t buy more. The dry leaf and the brewed tea itself smelled exactly like cherry cough syrup. The cherry medicine flavor smothered the chocolate notes and eventually, I couldn’t even take one more sip. I’m sure that the black tea base is tasty, but my nose and tongue couldn’t get beyond that cloying, sickly, medicinal cherry.
I got this as a free sample so at least I’m not out of any money. The name of this tea is a turn off…I hate Colorado, let alone Boulder, so…When I opened the pouch, I was excited…it didn’t look like much beyond dried grass shavings with some purplish fronds mixed in, but it smelled just like strawberry Bubble Yum! I couldn’t wait to steep and taste! Granted, the loose tea unfurled beautifully and looked quite pretty, but my excitement waned as soon as it hit the mug. The delicious aroma disappeared and the tea resembles old pee. The taste, super light and unremarkable. I didn’t even want to waste any sweetener on it. Not knocked out, not disappointed. I’d drink this again if I absolutely had to, but I’d never buy it.
Preparation
Mmmm pretty tasty! Espcially with a Mounds Bar stolen from my daughter’s Halloween stash HAHA!
Very GOOD coconut flavor here with out that off putting coconut aroma or flavor I get in MANY coconut teas!
This one is a keeper!
Full review on http://sororiteasisters.com/ coming up on the 18th!
This is so yummy! When I was flavoring teas way back when, I had a Mango flavored tea … and it was even called “Mango Tango.” But, that’s where the comparison really ends, because this is different!
It isn’t just mango, but also passion fruit. And the addition of the passion fruit essence makes a big difference. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my Mango Tango, it was very mango-y, and absolutely delicious (if I do say so myself), and while this doesn’t taste the same, it too is quite delicious!
This is sweet, luscious and absolutely delightful to sip. The flavors taste true to the fruits, and the black tea is brisk without being too intrusive on the flavors. A really nice balance of tastes.
The Tea Spot is currently hosting a contest! Free tea for a year! Yes, that’s right. Now through the end of the year, you can enter by liking them on facebook, and filling out their short (very short!) entry form on their facebook page. A double entry can be earned if you answer the question “what inspires you” on their facebook page.
No, I don’t work for The Tea Spot, I’m just an avid fan!
This is so so so good! It has exceeded every expectation I had of it. I expected great things with the combination of coconut and milk Oolong, but, I did not expect it to taste this amazing. It is sweet, and creamy, coconut-y but not so much that it overwhelms the delicious notes of the milk Oolong. There is a delicateness about it, but yet it is still so luscious and creamy.
this is one that you really just HAVE to taste to believe.
I also ordered a sample of that in my lastest teaspot order (due to arrive any day). Had to leave something for next time!
My Morning Cuppa!
I love this stuff but sadly my sample is now gone. Once again thanks to Terri Harp Lady for introducing me to this tea and this tea shop!
I WILL be getting more next month!
Great quality chocolate flavor with a fruity twist, deep and robust.
I feel this is a perfect blend!
Will be reviewing on sororiteasisters.com
This is really amazing! Thank you Terri Harp Lady for sending some my way!
I do not recall ever having anything from The Tea Spot before but I plan to check them out if they have a web presence!
Excellent chocolate flavor and the pu-erh is lovely as well. A very nice blend!!
Their Organic Chocolate “O” black tea is amazing. Probably my favorite chocolate flavored tea I’ve ever found because the base tea is really high quality. I also love their Meditative Mind if you like jasmine and rose.
yep, Bolder breakfast is part of my breakfast tea rotation (all black teas that I take turns starting the day with) & I love their Meditative Mind as well! Their Puerh tuo chas are pretty good too. I drank the last of my Bolder Breakfast a few days ago & will have to place an order soon, which will include the chocolate O, cuz I’ve wanted to try that one for awhile.
yes, the Chocolate “O” is the best chocolate tea that is available now. There was once a better chocolate tea. But, I don’t blend teas any longer. :)
:) Too bad for us too!
I have read great comments on the Chocolate O – I definately need to check them out soon!
This came as a sample from Terri HarpLady – thanks so much!
Not quite sure what to drink this morning, so I reached for a breakfast blend. As a rule, I don’t really buy them. I generally find them to be bland or boring.
This is not the case with this one! There’s a dark, fruity sweetness to it, almost like cherry or mulberry. The scent is full of dark chocolate, and there a bit of that wrapped around the fruitiness of it. As it cools, there’s a whiff of cinnamon that comes out.
I finally found a breakfast blend I like!

Sipdown!
I actually still enjoy this tea, even though its VERY floral, with big rosebuds, jasmine pearls, & white tea. It’s a beautiful tea to look at, smells nice, and is tasty & relaxing to sip.
What more can you ask for?
I’ve been through several tins of this one, although it doesn’t appeal to me as much as it used to. That isn’t the tea’s fault, I’m just not as into greens & florals as I used to be.
I’m fed up with trying to drink black teas, at least for a little while. Every single one of them tastes bitter to me. This has been going on for a couple of weeks now, & I’m sure it’s due to allergies, but it is SO frustrating.
To give my tastebuds a break, I’m having a pot of this one. This is an old favorite, from my mostly green tea days, a lovely fragrant tea that is also beautiful to look at. I don’t always love floral teas, but I don’t really hate them either. The main taste I’m noticing today is a light sourdough bread quality, coming from the white tea in this blend. I’m still getting a slightly bitter sensation, but it’s mild, so it isn’t ruining things for me. The jasmine & rose are nicely balanced. For some reason when I drink this, I always feel like there is a bit of mint in there, & in fact I used to think it had mint in it, but it doesn’t.
Anyway, the Cardinals vs Nationals game is getting ready to start, & I plan to spend my entire day in my PJs, watching baseball, surfing the internet, & drinking tea.
A perfect day in the making!
Sipdown!
For some reason I always think this tea has mint in it, but it doesn’t.
It’s white tea, green tea jasmine pearls, & lovely little rosebuds. That’s it. It’s a visually beautiful & serene tea, & I enjoy it from time to time. I bought it several times now, & it was the first tea I purchased from the Tea Spot. Now my canister is empty again.
“Sorry, we’re on an ordering hiatus. Gotta support the thread, you know.” Ms Theresa says, “I’ll put it on the list for our NEXT Tea Spot order girls.”
My order from the Tea Spot came today, & now I’m at Tony’s in my PJs having a cup. I have loved this tea from the first time I saw the tin it comes in. It’s just so beautiful, with the rosebuds, so aromatic with the rosebuds & jasmine, so flavorful with the rosebuds, jasmine pearls, & white tea. If I was depressed, which I’m not (& haven’t been since I started practicing mindfulness), this tea would be perfect therapy. It’s especially nice to drink in the bubble bath (with EO’s ‘Renew’, rose & chamomile essential oils…ahhhh….)
It is aromatherapy in a cup!
I am out of Meditative Mind Tea, & I keep waiting for Whole Foods to get some more. I think I’ll have to order directly from the Tea Spot. I wanted a cup this afternoon (on Tuesday) to commemorate the anniversary of 9/11, the saddest day of the 21st Century. Even now I can’t begin to comprehend the tragedy of that day, I am still numb.
Meditative Mind is a beautiful tea to look at: an amazing blend of white peony tea, green jasmine pearls, mint, & lovely pink rosebuds!! The first time I bought this tea, I opened it & it was a visual feast! I breathed in, & the combined scents of Rose, Mint, Jasmine, & Tea are pure Heaven.
This is a tea for healing the soul, for soothing the spirit, for opening the heart. It is a tea for Peace, which I hope we will someday find in this crazy world of ours. Preferably sooner than later.
After I posted this, I went to the teaspot website & ordered a new tin of Meditative Mind, plus a few samples.
The 2nd of the bathtub teas. I really didn’t accomplish much today, but sometimes you just need to relax, right? So, I’m clean & serene, but sadly, I feel the Zyrtec wearing off, & I have to leave the house in a few minutes, for my Taichi class.
It’s been awhile since I had a cup of this, which I used to drink a lot of! I still like it, although not as much as I used to, but there is a certain nostalgia that comes with having a cup of this today. Nothing in particular, just many cups of tea drank over the years.
This is a mix of black teas, shu puer, & chocolate. It’s the chocolate liquore kind of taste, & is especially nice with a pinch of sweetness added.
MISS YOU :)
I hope all is well! Miss your frequent notes!
Do agree, please come back soon :)
Wow, it has been quite a long time :/ Also hoping everything is ok and perhaps it’s just Steepster issues that have kept you away!
