It honestly pulls at my Canadian heart strings that this is even on Steepster. Ohhhh Canada! I usually order this if I’m out and about and with my boyfriend. That’s the reason I am drinking it right now (thanks honey!)

It’s your typical orange pekoe, nothing special, just creamy and gives you a jolt. It has a bit of an after taste and leaves your tongue very dry. Doesn’t seem to matter what I eat with it.

Being someone who loves anything pumpkin, I had to try this tea when it came to our local Tim Hortons last month. I’m really glad I didn’t go out of my way to grab a cup. I found this tea to taste very nutty for some reason, which I did not enjoy. The spices were much too strong, despite my steeping the bag for only a few minutes. I won’t be drinking this one again.

drank Peppermint by Tim Hortons

Well, I’m back from Sask Fan Expo!

It was a really fun weekend filled with a lot of cool things; road tripping with my friend/coworker Laura and her wife Sharla was great! We kicked things off with some Timmy Hoes and a group sing-a-long of the Once More With Feeling soundtrack from BTVS. I scooped up some peppermint tea while we were at Timmies; I figured as far as bagged tea from a coffee shop was concerned this was likely a safe option.

And it wasn’t bad; standard peppermint tea, essentially. Sadly it was the only tea I drank all day because the day was just filled with so much other stuff.

Honestly, we spent most of the expo in lines – but I wouldn’t change that at all because I got to meet and get autographs from three awesome, beloved celebrities. The first and most important one was obviously James Marsters. I’ve met him before at C4 but he was just as great this time. My hands were so sweaty/clammy when he shook them. We talked about Tom Holland’s portrayal of Spider Man and how much of a fan he is so far and about how we’re both excited to go and watch Homecoming. It was wonderful!

Next up was Tom Felton’s line – we were early to the line so we ended up waiting almost two hours for him to show up, but we were like fifth in line so we got to meet him right away. I got him to sign my copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard and he was so charming. When we got up front there he was fumbling to start some music to listen to while signing autographs and he ended up playing some really cool jazz music. Of the three people we saw, he was definitely the least chatty – but still it was very cool meeting him.

Finally; I got to meet Bob Morley (from The 100). I didn’t expect to be as nervous as I was, but the closer I got to the front of the line the more shaken up I got. The 100 is easily my favourite show still on TV right now – and it means a lot to me. His accent was fucking amazing; every time he talked I melted inside. And, he was definitely very engaged with everyone! Of all the people signing autographs he was the only one not sitting behind a table and who was, instead, out in front of hugging fans and having longer conversations. He gave everyone the chance to get their autographs personalized however they wanted, and let everyone ask him one or two questions – similar to how you would during a panel.

When he asked me if there was anything I wanted to know about him or the show, I panicked a bit because it was just so unexpected and I was so flustered. I managed to squeak out “What kind of tea do you like?” to which he paused and answered “Earl Grey and Peppermint, though I’m more of a coffee guy. Tea is great for sitting down with a book or a game of chess, though”. His autograph was the only one I didn’t get made out to me though: instead I had him personalize it for Kyle because The 100 is our show together, and it’s the first thing we ever watched together/did together even before we started dating (part of why the show means a lot to me). I figured it’d be a good gift for him, especially since we’re coming up on six months together in less than a week now…

Otherwise, we looked at the vendors and I ended up nabbing some Fallout stuff for Kyle. Didn’t grab anything else for myself; meeting all the celebs and getting their autographs was enough of a take home for me.

Such an amazing time/experience, though!

Thoughtful gift! Sounds like an awesome time :)

I slept in today, and because of that I didn’t actually have time to make myself a tea for work – which was crushing. This is the first time since starting that I haven’t brought tea with me to work, and I felt really empty handed all morning.

However, because my coworker Briana is really sweet she stopped at Tim Hortons on her way back from break and brought me back a cup of peppermint tea (without my even asking, which was so thoughtful). We’d been talking about tea a few shifts ago and I mentioned that I love mint teas – especially ones that are super strong or overleafed, and I guess she was actually paying attention to the conversation because not only did she pick the right tea (meaning, what I would have asked for if she’d told me she was gonna get me tea), but she also got an extra teabag for me so I could steep it extra strong!

Honestly, it wasn’t the most amazing peppermint tea I’ve ever had. Not by a long shot – but it wasn’t too bad either considering it’s bagged tea from, basically, a ‘fast food’ brand name. It was pretty minty – and with the extra bag I was able to make it really strong and powerful smelling. However, what I disliked what that in the end of the sip there was this odd taste like dirt. It was only really brief and vanished into the minty fresh aftertaste almost right away, but that split second dirt taste was present in every sip. It was sort of distracting, really.

Anyway, a huge thank you to Briana for saving me at work today (super unexpectedly too) since I didn’t have tea of my own like normal.

How does this compare to Harney’s Vanilla Comoro? I will actually be near Tin Roof on Thursday and I am out of my Harney which I buy by the pound.

Sorry, Steepster glitched and threw me back a full page!

So the canker saga continues, but is hopefully on the mend. It was about 3:45 yesterday afternoon when my boss and other colleagues descended upon my office and insisted that they take me to a walk-in clinic, because the right side of my face was swollen, my ear hurt, and my glands were inflamed. I rather irresponsibly didn’t have my health card with me, so went home, filled up on some Advil for the inflammation, and went to bed. I went to the clinic this morning, and was told that somehow the site had gotten infected. Needless to say, I felt validated, and came home with a bunch of medication and anesthetic rinses. While on my way home, I realized how long it had been since I’d last eaten something (I think Mr. Keychange forced me to choke down some juice through a straw last night), and asked the cab driver to stop at a Tim Hortons. Got myself an everything bagel with herb and garlic cream cheese, as well as a small steeped tea. The whole ordeal was rather delicious, as long as I made sure to only sip the tea after it cooled, and to contain everything to the far left side of my mouth, while making sure the right side of my tongue (where the canker is) didn’t touch my teeth. This tea was actually delicious in so far as I could taste, and because I didn’t remove the lid entirely, I didn’t get that nasty smell I described earlier. I’m glad there’s a to-go tea I can count on at Timmys!

Anna

Aw, feel better. <3

keychange

Thank you. I currently want to throw things and stomp petulantly like a child. Pain sucks so epically.

Yeah, so I’m generally a fan of this tea in the generic sense, as in my boss was on her way back to the office and asked us if she could get us anything. Always after an afternoon wake-up nudge, I opted for this tea. The tea itself is fine, but there’s this smell to the cup that is just revolting. It isn’t unique to this cup, either; I’d ordered a French Vanilla the other day and noticed the same thing. it’s…I don’t know. Sickly, sweet, almost…I can’t even describe it. Perhaps it’s the smell of the paper cup absorbing whatever liquid is inside it. either way, it’s incredibly distracting. I mean, look at me. I’m not even describing the tea because the smell was so noteworthy. It doesn’t help that the lid was defective and that little tab that’s supposed to flip back and secure snugly into place kept bashing me in the nose and so I got impatient and just wrenched the mofo loose so I could get at my tea without resorting to battle. So yeah, decent tea if you’re on the run (or in an office and distinctly not on the run, but needing to be woken nonetheless), but the smell of the cup or the air in the tea or whatever the heck it is just overwhelms everything.

Lala

Sometimes I think that smell is the waxy covering on the paper cup. I have noticed it too in Timmies and some other restaurants paper cups. I don’t notice it in an unused cup, just in the ones with liquid in them.

mrs.stenhouse12

I know exactly what smell you are talking about! It’s a weird sweet smell, kind of like weird hot chocolate to me, happy to know it’s not just in my head when I drink from a Timmy’s cup lol.

keychange

Eww, maybe you’re right. I feel less crazy now that I know someone else has noticed that nasty-assed smell.

keychange

Oh gosh! Glad it isn’t just me!

ifjuly

I remember that smell too from when I lived in Rochester which has Tim Horton’s. Ew, I never considered that it’s probably some coating on the cup. Eee.

as a loose leaf tea drinker, I tend to be a snob as to what banged tea I’ll drink but I really like this. I’m not tasting too much rooibos which makes me sad certain times and others I kinda like. roobios is one of those teas I have to be in the mood to have and if I’m not in the mood to taste roobios and in the mood for a pumpkin treat this is it. For a th tea I like it a lot and I bought a few boxes to last me til next year. I can definitely tell there is black pepper but it’s not too bad. It’s a good in a rush tea.

Didn’t realize this was rooibos til I took my first sip. Where is my caffeine?! Ack.
Not bad. Has that strange chai taste I don’t really like. Reminds me somewhat of Melange from 52 Teas only with a hint of pumpkin. Interesting, but not what I had hoped for.

Bonnie

I have your caffeine…come and get it!

Tim’s again this morning, had to try this one after seeing it yesterday and after ordering my EG haha. I was actually torn between the pumpkin latte, or white hot chocolate with a pumpkin shot, or just this tea with cream+sugar or with nothing. I got it with nothing added, as my stomach is angry again sigh, hope I’m not getting the flu. Anyways, this is actually pretty good! And happy it’s caffeine free, as I’m not feeling caffeine this morning at all. Mildly spicy and I get a bit of the pumpkin in it too. I bet it’d be good with cream as well, but not today lol. Happy to try it, so far one of the better TH teas!

Indigobloom

ahaha I just had this!!!

Rob Rauschenberg

Has anyone tried the teavana pumpkin? I think my favorite is still the pumpkin chai from DAVIDsTEA.

mrs.stenhouse12

Sadly I didn’t get to drink much of this :) my upset stomach got worse and i had to go home and just slept all day. Will have to try it again when i’m better!

@Marcel- I haven’t yet, I actually haven’t tried any teavana teas! Della terra has some very good pumpkin teas though, grandma’s pumpkin pie and chocolate pumpkin pie, i love my davidstea chai but those two are definitely on par!

Tea! I haven’t had tea for the past 3 days and have had only a few herbals over the past week – i have been on a skiing extravaganza in the states and Banff and am just heading home now. Got this for somr much needed caffeinated goodness after a few weeks of none. Lol, you know you are tea deprived when Tims tastes amazing haha. But it was an excellent week away with 5 total ski days (hello non flabby legs lol). I will drink more tea and get back to regular logs when I’m back!

Eh, kind of weak. Ordered this at Tim Hortons this morning before I saw they have their pumpkin spice latte and tea in haha. Oh well, I was craving EG this morning anyways, got this with 1 cream, 1 sugar, and it’s ok, just not the strongest. But then I’m used to A&D’s pow of flavor lol. It will do for my bergamot fix, as I made Laoshan Black in my mug for later this morning, sipdown at that! Anyways, this will do for now.

This is the best bagged tea ever, honestly. I get this from Timmies often, it tastes just like apple cider, but maybe a little watered down. Still good though.

Morning cup – got up way too early this morning, stayed up way too late. I probably should have gotten something with caffeine, but I wanted this. Soooo sleepy. Want to curl in a ball and rest. But alas, I have to work. See previous notes on this tea.

In the Vancouver airport, headed to the island with the bfs for a wedding on his side! So I grabbed a cup of this, my go-to, to-go (haha) tea. I mean, it’s pretty hard to mess up peppermint lol. Tasty and refreshing and nice on my tummy after my greasy yet amazing bagel BELT. Lol, any good tea recommendations in Vancouver or on the island?

Sil

Where on the island will you be? Silk Road tea and Murchie’s are out there

OMGsrsly

Silk Road and Murchies on the Island. Urban Tea Merchant ($$$), Granville Island Tea, Teaz/Herbal Republic, umm… http://goo.gl/maps/gXsKK Here. This is probably easier.

OMGsrsly

Any specific Q’s about Vancouver, send me a message. :) If you only have a day, I’d say stay in Kits/Downtown. Bayswater, O5, the others I’ve listed. Soirette Macaron House for a treat (haven’t been, but it looks cute!), etc.

mrs.stenhouse12

Thanks for the suggestions! I want to come back for a tea trip lol unfortunately I didn’t get much time to tea shop and I’ve mostly only been in nanaimo and North, but I did get two homemade tea mugs, so beautiful, i’ll have to put pictures up, hopefully they make it home safe in my bags!

I didn’t have any tea today!!
It’s been such a stressful week that I just withdrew from everything except for work, and now I really want a cuppa! I’m craving so badly… but then I’d never get to sleep and herbal won’t do(last day is tomorrow. Both good and bad I say!)
Anyhow, I’m off to bed. So exhausted and not looking forward to a repeat of today heh

I use to refuse anything pumpkin. I wouldn’t have pumpkin pie, cookies, desserts of any kind really… So, when a (now former) coworker that I couldn’t stand told me that if I love tea, I had to try this, I didn’t want to and didn’t want to believe that she knew anything about me whatsoever. Somehow she convinced me to try this one. I didn’t want to, but I did. She got me this tea, double double with cream. I never drink tea with cream. EVER.
But this tea was amazing. She finally got something right.
Since that time, I’ve been on a pumpkin tea kick that hasn’t really stopped. And for that, I’m happy ‘cause it’s delicious. I’m still not a fan of pumpkin desserts, but the tea I’ll drink religiously.

Holy sugar batman! Ordered this one like I usually do, with two milk and one sugar, but man that sugar is front and centre stage and making this tea so sweet! I’m even adding the second tea bag to the cup to see if making the tea part a bit stronger will help me tone down the sugar? I know, strange logic, but I’m tired so, what can ya do?

Today, me and the little one are heading on our first big car ride. We’re travelling three hours east to go see the in-laws/his grandparents! I’m so excited to get away for a few days and to spenbd time with them. I’ve mentioned it before and I will again. My in-laws are the best. I love them and they have only seem out little man once! It was when he was a week and a half old and so tiny tiny tiny! I can’t believe how much he’s changed. He’s 7.5 weeks old now and 9lbs! Long way from 4.5weeks early and 4lbs 11oz!

Fjellrev

I wonder if they put more than usual this time or your tastes are just different today, eh? Hope you enjoy your trip with your little one. Sounds like fun!

TheKesser

Thanks!
Yea I wonder too. I definitely don’t sweeten things the way I use to

I have not drank much tea the last week or so… I’m cutting down on my caffeine… And it’s been hard… but today I needed something. I am just so tired and I feel so drained. So, half a cup of this one for me!
It’s not that great… I wish I had had a good tea today to make it more worth while, but I’m getting a tiny bit of energy so, whatever. Anyway, this is my in a pinch tea. And it’s fine, but not a favourite.

I get this one when I need a quick pick-me-up and I don’t have time to make my own. I also get it when travelling. It’s a simple tea, but delicious.
I always get it two milk, one sugar, bag in. One milk never seems to be enough when I leave the bag in. It gets strong quick. And I don’t know about others here, but all the Tims around my area always seem to do really big amounts of sugar. One is sometimes too much. Meh, It’s still good. I still enjoy it.

For a TH tea, this is actually pretty good. Oh, and for a rooibos too. I think the licorice in this covers up the rooibos flavour.

It’s Roll Up the Rim so maybe I should go down there sometime and get a steeped tea double double. I can has free stuff?
