Trader Joe's

I love this tea. I love it so much that when my Mom flew back east, I made her buy me 12 boxes of it because much to my dismay T.J.’s has not opened a store anywhere in my state yet. :( It is absolutely delightful iced.

This is so delicious! I made a cup of Spicy Chai Latte this morning for breakfast with hot milk. I haven’t been drinking a lot of tea these days. I am 37 weeks and I’m on the last few weeks! I can’t wait for her to come! :) I will probably be getting back to tea drinking afterwards. I love the blend of spices in this tea coupled with the sweetness. I haven’t tried this cold, though I imagine it would taste good!

I went shopping at Trader Joe’s this afternoon and stumbled upon this. Normally I would pass by the chai mixes in stores, but this one caught my eye. Perhaps its a craving. I wanted it so bad. When I got home, I heated some milk and added about 3/4 of a scoop of mix. I was in heaven. This is arguably one of the best chai latte’s I have ever had. It is sweet, and so sinfully good. MMmmm… I want more, but I am holding myself back! It isn’t too spicy. It has the perfect blend of spices – cinnamon, clove, cardamom, anise, ginger, vanilla. mmm….

Solid mint blend. If you’re in the mood for mint, it’s much better with the mix of peppermint/spearmint and the touch of lemongrass!

I’m back from my trip, the flight was uneventful but I am certainly tired, especially after having slept for only 5 or so hours last night…

I thought it would be nice to have a good herbal before nap time. This is a blend I don’t drink too often, but when cold brewed it’s great for the hot weather. Peppermint, spearmint and lemongrass. It’s pretty good when hot also, though I prefer this with a touch of sweetener which seems to temper the lemongrass a bit.

This is a pretty good value, as one teabag fills up a giant mug with a lot of flavor.

I made some of this earlier today and decided to ice it and have it with my dinner tonight. It’s really refreshing this way. Very minty but a touch of lemongrass is peeking through. This will be really nice for the summer.

Last weekend I had the Mint Fields by Republic of Tea so I decided to try this for comparison, the price was certainly right. A mix of peppermint, spearmint and lemongrass, the peppermint was not too overpowering which was definitely a relief. A nice soothing herbal. I had a cup hot yesterday and then brewed some and stuck it in the refrigerator so I could enjoy it iced. This will be great for the sunny days we sometimes see here in the foggy city.

I’m always on the lookout for good bagged teas for when I’m in a rush. This tea is definitely a keeper! There’s a nice sweetness from the mango flavoring. I read the ingredients listed on the box, and was surprised to see hibiscus. I couldn’t taste any hibiscus, but the liquor is slightly more reddish than a normal black tea. I really enjoyed this tea. So much so that I might need to stock up next time I make it to a TJ’s (which isn’t very often!).

Had this at a friend’s place a few weeks ago. . . . It was like drinking hot, diluted cranberry juice—I couldn’t really taste the green tea part. Cranberry is probably too strong a flavor to go well with green tea.

I’m not big on berry flavored teas in general, so this was probably just not my thing.

This needs sugar. It’s a strong tea, stronger than the Trader Joe’s English Breakfast which I am a fan of. I find that it’s rather bitter for my taste on it’s own and needs sugar in order for me to enjoy it but it isn’t my favorite. On the plus side it gets me up in the morning.

I bought really cheap tea at Aldi’s – $1.46/100 bags. I wasn’t crazy about it. Reminded me of Salada Tea which I can’t drink. So I decided to move “up” to a Breakfast Tea at Trader Joe’s. It is too strong. If I leave it in the cup for brewing more than 15 seconds, it isn’t worth drinking. I think I’m headed back to Lipton. Think I’ll try another brand of English Breakfast, but for as often as I drink the tea, I didn’t want to pay an arm and leg. Perhaps I should opt for loose tea.

Thank you adagio breeze for this sample. Two bags means both me and my husband can try this tea so it worked very nicely. Plus I was asked if I was going to review something special for my 500th tasting note and after thinking about it for hours now I decided on an Earl Grey (hence this tea). Earl Grey is one of my favourite teas and is one of my first loves which has sparked my curiosity and explains why I am still here on Steepster, and also why my cupboards are over flowing with tea. :)

The teabag itself has a waxy citrus scent that smells rather pleasant and refreshing.

Tea comes served with half a spoon of calorie free sugar and a slice of lemon – as recommended on the back of the tea sachet.

Once steeped the tea has a strong citrus smell with slight malt and earth tones. In flavour this is very nice, it’s citrus is strong (with added help from the lemon) but also sweet, waxy and refreshing. I can also taste orange or maybe it’s bergamot in the background… delicious.

I have this tea at work when I need something with a kick. Not my favorite, but it gets me started with its boldness. One thing: the aroma of the teabag after being liberated from the sealed pouch is odd. It’s not very natural smelling (kinda “chemically”). Anybody else notice that?

I think there are better, more natural tasting /smelling Earl Greys available & typically prefer them.

Nice enough for a bagged blend from Trader Joe’s. I don’t know what [insert feminine nobility title] Grey is supposed to taste like, but this one just seems like a weaker, less astringent, slightly lemony version of the Earl. It has very little bitterness (with a squirt of agave, anyway) and it’s something I’d happily drink if it were on hand, but I’m not crazy about it.

Maybe I’m just not a vanilla tea person? Or I just haven’t found the right way to brew it. I’ve made this once, added a little sugar and milk, and I just couldn’t get past the smell of it. It was very…. popcorny-coconuty. I’m not sure how to describe it. It’s just a scent that I’ve always associated with too much vanilla, and I cannot get past it. I took maybe two sips before it became overbearing and I had to dump it. The taste of it was simular to the smel, or it might have been because of the scent that filled my nose with every scent. I might try to give this another try once I figure out a way to mask the smell of it all.

A good winter tea. The cinnamon is VERY strong – think Red Hots. The clove and orange peel mentioned in the description do come through, although I couldn’t taste much of the tea base. I’ll probably buy another tin if this comes back next year.

I find the majority of commercial mint teas to be easy too mild to be worth my time. This is the exception. You can SMELL how absolutely minty this tea is when you open it, and the aroma does not disappoint! Hot or iced, add a little honey and you’re golden! Hands down my favorite summer beverage, I could drink it by the gallon!

One of the best teas to ice that I’ve found! My boyfriend and I go through pitchers and pitchers in the summer. Very refreshing with honey!

This tea tastes like a cookie. It really does. It’s the perfect answer to those evening dessert cravings if you’re watching your waistline or your wallet. I only wish that it was a little stronger; I find I usually have to use two bags or add another bag of plain Lipton or something.
