I accidentally read the name of this as Cinnamon Blossom, and that’s the only reason it made it home. I gave it a good try but it was even icky when iced. Just a strange combination of flavors… Bleh.

This has tasted extra discouraging lately. I think my box at work has gone stale or something. At least this dismal state has pushed me to finally bring some better stuff in from home.

Man, I need to get some better teas here at work. . . . For most of the week all my true teas sit unloved in my cupboard, because I’m avoiding caffeine in the evening. It’s sad.

This tea has 0 ginger flavor to me, and is instead this really strong sweet flavor that doesn’t remind me of pears at all. Anyone experienced with white tea is probably rolling their eyes at me, as this may be the white tea flavor coming through. I throw the tea bag in the water for about a minute and pull it out ASAP in a wild attempt to prevent it from being any stronger than it already is.

Just a note to myself: this tea bag’s age is unknown but can be upwards of 2 years. So, that being said, bergamot is faint, can be mistaken for lemony fragrance. Tastes like a lemon Lipton’s, especially after the spoon of sugar added to my last half cup. Just used the worst type of mug to hold boiling hot tea. The kind of ceramic which makes it impossible to cradle your hands around which I love to do with my double-walled mugs and cups at home. It can be fun to visit your family but being away from all the tea stuff is hard. I am seriously considering getting this family a variable temp. kettle just to have a properly brewed cuppa. In retrospect, would use 205F for this TJ’s EG.

I like this tea. A lot. Possibly a lot more than I should. Sometimes I feel myself becoming a bit of a tea snob, turning my nose up at bagged tea and stores like Teavana. But every now and then a teabag is just so delicious I can’t possibly give them up altogether. This is one of those times.

This tea is so deliciously minty, slightly sweet, tastes good hot or cold, and can be re-steeped so many times I lose count. It’s great.

I drink a lot of mint-family teas, and this is the best. Of all the regularly available mint teas, plantation mint, pure peppermint, pure mint, pure spearmint, this is the best. Like salt in your hot chocolate, the lemongrass is the hidden thread that ties everything in this tea together. 1 bag in 1 cup boiling water with 1 packet NuStevia = heaven. Like most herbal teas it can steep forever without going bad (getting bitter).

I got a box of this for Christmas, and have enjoyed having it for the past few weeks. I’ve mostly added sugar, and others have commented on how nice my office smells when I have a cup. It’s a typical black tea bag with some good spices!

Reminds me a lot of Bigelow’s Eggnogg’n.

I microwaved some water to enjoy this tea yesterday. Maybe it was the water, maybe it was me, but I wasn’t getting any ginger flavor at all and the sweet pear smell was just overpowering. I’ve loved this tea when I’ve had it before so I’ll have to try it again another time.

Got this tea for my tea cabinet at work and while I don’t dislike it, I don’t love it either. To me it translates a bit weak and citrusy. I would like a bit more punchy bergamot and while I expected it to be weaker than an Earl Grey, I guess I expected it to have a bit more nuance. Its tasty for an afternoon cup or when you’re feeling under the weather, just nothing special.

This is a bagged tea from a grocery store superchain. If you expect perfection or fine estate assam, you’re probably not going to get it here. However, for a strong, tasty punchy breakfast blend that is easy and fast. This is it. I bought it for my tea cupboard at work and it comes in extremely useful every day at 3:00 pm when I’m lagging. I like it with cream and sugar. Its a bit bitter and punchy and while not my favorite tea, it definitely does the job.

It’s also good for southern-style iced tea.

June's Flame

Oooh good to know! I’ll try that!

Recently, I discovered a drink that I ADORE at the Philz on my walk to work. However, when I go there, I end up spending like $6 or more because I have no self control and get a vegan cookie, as well. Well, since I’m on a money AND food diet, I decided to buy a bag of these yerba mate bags, even though $5 for 25 seemed a little steep. Now, at Philz, I had them add a little soy milk and fresh mint, so I was trying to accomplish the same at home… SO, I mixed 40 oz of water with 4 yerba mate tea bags and 2 Trader Joe’s Mint Melange tea bags, then added some vanilla soy until my pot was about full (maybe a cup?)

PERFECT! Exactly what I was looking for. :D

No rating, since I mixed it with another tea.
