A review of Green Tea (Beneficial Everyday Tea) by Triple Leaf Tea

Company: Triple Leaf Inc
Tea Name: Green Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: green
Region: China
Steeping Vessel/Amt Leaf: cup/ tea bag
Liquor Color: golden brown
Leaf Characteristic:

Steeping:

1st Steeping:
Water Temp: 200
Time: 3 minutes

I steep this tea for less at first since it seems like it might be very strong/bitter. I place one tea bag into my cup and pour in the hot water and leave it to steep for a few minutes. Tea’s aroma is that of green tea and smells freshly of green leaves as well.
-——————————

2nd Steeping:
Water Temp: 200
Time: 5 minutes
This is a longer steep because I want more of the tea’s strength in my cup. Not that there was anything wrong with first cup of tea. This second cup of tea is darker in coloring and smell strongly with more astringency, the tea taste is strong. It is not as freshly clean as first cup. I think this is because the first cup of tea was lighter and therefore fresher.

I mean to say: the bitterer is the tea, the stronger is the tea’s strength and not as enjoyable if nothing is added to it. I prefer tea’s plain.
-————————————

Overall tasting notes: In all, this tea has a pleasing mild and aromatic flavor and is less bitter if steep for shorter time.

Classification: Year, and region of production; Product of China

Cup’s characteristic: This tea is prepared from superior green tea leaves and one can taste and enjoy this aspect with every cup of tea, in tea bag form.

Liquor color: golden brown

Taste: mildly astringent and cleanly when steep for shorter duration.

A review of Slimming Special Herbal Tea by Triple Leaf

Date: 11/05/2012
Company: Triple Leaf Brand
Tea Name: Slimming Special Herbal Tea
Tea Type/ Herbal
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ tea bag
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color:
Leaf Characteristics:

Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

Note: I like to have this tea (all my herbal teas strongly) so infusion is longest of steeping for 5 minutes or more and this makes the tea very dark in color and smelling strongly of herbals like the Senna leaf, dandelion, licorice root and persimmon leaf making this tea a sweeter brew.

I brew this tea so strongly and that it is darken-cloudy mush in my mug and when tasted, tea is very hot and good; I like how the persimmon and licorice play nicely together; this tea is wonderful because it has no bitterness at all.

As this was my ending cup of tea for the day, it was very welcoming cup of tea.

A review of Tisane Spécial Minceur Tea by Triple Leaf

Date: 10/23/2012
Company: Triple Leaf
Tea Name: Slimming Special Herbal Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: Herbal
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/tea bag
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: dark auburn
Leaf Characteristics:

Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 190 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes

Note: I infuse tea bag in a cup of hot water for several minutes since I want a stronger brew. I notice that the tea’s color darkens from reddish brown to like a muddy coloring. And the tea smells strongly of herbs like senna and dandelion and always I feel, I taste licorice or that slippery elm bark or it is how I can describe this tea. It is naturally sweet and filling. I think since I brew / steep this tea longer it makes for a heavier cup of tea.

I like that this tea has no caffeine because I am drinking it end of day. Overall this tea offers a rich and satisfying taste.

A review of Herbal Laxative by Triple Leaf Tea

Date: 11/03/2012
Company: Triple Leaf Tea
Tea Name: Herbal Laxative Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: herbal
Region:
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: Cup/ tea bag
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: darkish red/amber at times like muddy water since brewed for more than five minutes.
Leaf Characteristics:

Steepings

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5 minutes +

Note: I steep this tea only once since it is my nightly cup of tea. I take one tea bag and place this in my cup and pour the hot water over it and leaving it to steep for close to ten minutes since it states: “for stronger flavor and effect, steep longer.”

Teas’ aroma is very sweet of the licorice root, dandelion, mulberry and ginger. This all lingers in the air. When tasted it is more of the licorice root and ginger that I taste.

In all I drink this tea for the benefit that is offered to aid me in ridding of excess waste. To be detoxified and clean that is helpful to the body’s normal process. I drink this tea because at times it is a good thing to do.

200 °F / 93 °C 8 min or more

A review of Herbal Laxative Tea by Triple Leaf

Date: 10/20/ 2012
Company: Triple Leaf
Tea Name: Herbal Laxative Tea
Tea Type/Varietal: Herbal
Region: China
Steeping Vessel/Amt. Leaf: cup/ tea bag
Plucking Season:
Liquor Color: darkish green
Leaf Characteristics:

Steepings: With this king of tea, I generally do not have it with multiple steeps. I brew it once very hot and steep for between 5-10 minutes and drink it.

1st Steeping:
Water temperature: 200 Fahrenheit
Time: 5-10 minutes

Note: I pour one cup of boiling water over a tea bag and leave it to steep for five minutes or longer. I have this tea just around bed time and I drink it with one sitting. Tea’s color is darkish green leafy like and smells very strongly of herbals. I recognize the taste of Senna leaf or some call it slippery elm bark, senna and the Chinese licorice, which makes tea sweet and not bitter. In the background is the orange flavoring as well.

This is a good detoxifying tea when one feels bloated or needing that extra push in ridding of excess.

Glad sometone had the nerve to tackle a subject that we don’t admit to having, but the stores are full of this kind of tea for a reason!

I’m going thru – what I refer to as my – FUNKY BIN – and came across this! Apparently I haven’t tried it yet! If anyone wants any – no strings attached – let me know – I’ll send you some – I have plenty!

Bottoms up!

Also…I had to look up loquat! Here it is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loquat

And now…on to the notes…

It smells like warm pasta noodles without sauce. The color of the liquid is a pale yellow-grey-green.

I didn’t want to over steep in case it was too herbally for my liking.

Oddly…this isn’t too bad! I was expecting MUCH WORSE. This is surprisingly pleasant. It’s not overly flavorful but that makes me happy! I can taste the slightest hints of papaya, persimmons, and tangerine. There is a bit of herbal flavor but not much! It’s a relaxing flavor…not intense at all.

Triple Leaf Tea – “Green Tea.” Bag (somewhat tenuous connection between string and bag). Appearance: small leaf pieces (fannings, if you prefer). Liquor: slightly darker brown than many green teas. Smell: vegetal. Taste: traditional Chinese-style green. This is a mild green tea that is nice, straightforward, and easy to drink. It does have a slight medicinal taste that comes on stronger as an aftertaste. The tea is not particularly astringent compared with other greens. I would recommend this for people starting green teas, and for people who want a good deal (I got it on a very nice sale at Whole Foods). Plus, the bags are convenient for leaving in a desk drawer for when you want some at work and don’t have your infuser handy. 5/10.

Hard to believe this was the only tea I had all afternoon. I was busy going to occupational therapy and doctor’s offices, and also I’ve been trying to motivate myself into looking for a job which isn’t easy. I need to focus more on career stuff and less on social media type stuff (yes, even YOU Steepster!)

Anyway this is just such a good and basic herbal, it’s just ginger and nothing else and it also comes in a teabag which isn’t optimal but makes it good for traveling. This will definitely be a restock for me once my current supply runs out.

Skulleigh

Good luck on the job hunting!

Yeah, what skulleigh said! :)

This is my favorite ginger tea because it’s just ginger root in a teabag. I love the spicy-sweet flavor of this one and have never been disappointed in it. This is great for travel and I usually stash a couple of bags at work too. It’s great for any sort of upset stomach ailment. Fortunately I think my illness is mostly over and I’m back on the upswing. I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays!

Tea of the afternoon here, not sleeping well or feeling well for some reason and I thought I’d have a cup of this. It’s straight up ginger root and seems lightly sweet. I like it.

What can I say, it’s 100% Ginger root in a teabag. If you don’t like gInger, don’t even go here…

It’s good for sick people tho! And when I am feeling better I plan to mix it with other things, like green or black tea… I happen to love ginger myself. :)

ScottTeaMan

ME LUV GINGER TOO. :))

SunnyinNY

Same here! I’ll have to try this one.

It was free but fairly mediocre in my opinion. Difficult to pick out much flavor here, of course having it in a teabag doesn’t help either.

Wow. Steepster says I’ve had this one for 2 years now. Seriously?! Well, it held up. No loss in flavour at all. I am shocked.
I think this might have been the last or second last bag. Not bad, but not as stellar as I recall. Ok so maybe it has lost some ooomph. Or I just don’t appreciate roasted oolong the way I once did. Who knows.
Anyhow, it’s Friday and I am in a great mood!! Going out dancing tonight, with a friend who is in from Calgary, and then hiking tomorrow! (the logic on the order of this might not be so sound tomorrow. Hiking and hangover anyone? We shall see. I’m not prone to excessive drinking but the lack of sleep might do me in heh)

TeaBrat

Roasted oolongs have a long shelf life. I have a few that claim to be good for 10-15 years.

Indigobloom

15 yrs, wowsa. That’s crazy long

Ok so I tried this again today… I needed something quick and easy so I went for it. (normally I don’t double down like that!)
Anyhow, I learned from yesterday’s experience and made the first steep super short, maybe a minute… and dumped it! and was rewarded with a rich, smooth and toasty oolong that took me to the moon and back!! It almost reminds me of barley tea it is so intense. Coffee like even. Mmmm.
Raising the rating a few notches. (I’m shaking my head at myself here, falling in love with a bagged, and chopped! tea!)

Well this is the closest I’ve come, a bagged tea! to my precious roasty toasty oolong! not bad, for a bagged tea… and cheap to!
The quality of leaf is not identifiable, being so finely chopped. I’m going by taste alone here :)
The first steep, I wasn’t all that impressed. It was rough, and had characteristics of an oolong… but I like refined teas and this was definitely not that!
The second steep however, was so incredibly smooth and impressive to me that I swung for a third. It was lighter, but still very yummy!
This is my first bag of the stuff, but I suspect it may become a favourite :D
(this gets a high rating because I  this flavour so very much… but I can tell that it would be a smidge better if loose. Does this company sell loose tea I wonder? Hmmm!
More deets later, I need to try this again with a much shorter first steep!

The funny name was enough to catch my attention but the taste is not enough for it to stand out much. For those who like to drink tea that is not over powering or bitter, this would be good for you. It has a simple taste that would remind me of maybe oolong.

oh wow. I knew the steepster ratings for this one wouldn’t let me down! I just splurged on a bunch of teas over on LuckyVitamin. This was one of them, as it was $2.02 for a box of 20, it had an 80 rating at the time, and I wanted a jasmine tea. This is fantastic! It smells and tastes just like the Organic Jasmine Pearls sample I tried from Butikiteas.com, which hints at the quality because Butiki is excellent. The tea bag is PACKED. I oversteeped the second cup a bit, and it lost a bit of its flavor so definitely don’t oversteep this one. Don’t let the price fool you, this is delicious!

Hm, now that I’ve tried something a little closer to the real thing (the Dilmah Ceylon Silver Tips), this is definitely sub sub par. Reminds me of the super cheap Fujian bagged oolong that I’ve got, after it sits in my cupboard for a year or two, exposed to the air.

Could be worse, I guess.

Not bad for bagged tea. Flowery, grassy, mild.

Disclaimer: I have yet to try a loose white tea. This is my first non-flavoured white tea.
