A nice light tea for drinking on occasion. Definitely not a full-bodied tea for those used to drinking a strong black blend, but worth a try if you are looking for something different.
Tastes great without milk or sugar as well as with. Personal preference is without but find it with just as pleasant.
Preparation
I’m not sure what it says about the quality of Twining’s teas, but I can’t detect much, if any, difference between the K-cup and bagged versions of their Earl Grey. Lovely mild citrusy aroma and a smooth taste, Twining’s EG is one of my favourite morning and afternoon teas. Given that the K-Cup version is even easier than the bagged version, I might stick with this form, at least until I burn my way through my two boxes of it.
Preparation
It got to quarter to nine tonight and I just really wanted chamomile tea, so I picked up a box of this from the Co-Op. Usually I would have wanted whole chamomile flowers (they look so pretty brewing in a glass pot!) and not teabags, but I ran out last week :(
As far as chamomile goes, you can’t really get it wrong. This definitely wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was good enough for me. It produces a really beautiful golden liquor and smells absolutely wonderful. The only fault I could find was that the taste is rather flat – maybe I’ve just been spoiled by some really fantastic chamomiles in the past, but this tea doesn’t have the same complexity of flavour that I’m used to.
This tea has sat in my roommate’s stash of tea for ages, the box unopened until I found it last month. This morning is only my second cup of it, with a little sugar. Twinings China Keemun is a nice dark tea, with a rich smooth flavor as stated on the box. It has a bit of a smoky scent and taste to it that lingers for a moment. All in all, rather enjoyable.
So, it’s administrative assistants appreciation week at work, and we get treats. Today was a coffee/tea break from Pete’s Frootique, and I snagged a bagged chai from Twinings, I’m always wary of bagged greens, and that was all that was left at the time. On the plus side, I got gruit and muffins!
I’ve already burned my tongue on this poor thing, but it’s definitely a decent bagged chai. I find it better than the (mediocre at best) PC brand bagged chai, but they just never capture the deliciousness of proper chai for me. This’ll do, but I’d rather my 52teas order arrived so I could have some of my Extra Bold Masala Chai instead.
That said, it’s nice to be treated at work! Thanks, work!
Definitely one of the gentler citrus Twinings teas out there. Even when I brewed it for a full two minutes, it didn’t get too strong, and the teabag was still good for a second cup. Tastes nicely sweet and complements the green tea well.
Preparation
Surprisingly lovely. Despite my trepidation (It’s jasmine /and/ earl grey? They suggest adding milk?), the balance of flavours was quite nice. Floral without being overbearingly so, nor being drowned out by the Earl Grey’s trademark bergamot.
Preparation
When I first moved to England for a semester abroad, this was the first box of tea I bought because it was on sale. There were 80 tea bags in that box so I became addicted to it. I drink it in the morning because the caffeine wakes me up. It’s pretty strong and takes getting used to. Personally, I can’t brew it for more than a couple minutes, otherwise it gets too strong.
