Oh wow! This is the best green tea I’ve had in a long time. I haven’t ever smelled such potent, fresh dry leaves (of course, I’ve never had such a fresh harvest before either). I could smell the bag of dry leaves all day.
The brewed cup does not disappoint either. Tastes as creamy, sweet, and vegetal. I must order a larger bag of this next time as I don’t think this one will last very long (^.^)
Preparation
I loved the Autumn green, so I ordered some of this, not sure how similar or different they are going to be, but I guess I’m about to find out!
On opening the bag, wow what an aroma, very fresh smelling, kind of reminds me of nori.
Taste is similar to the Autumn Laoshan Green, except it seems like the Autumn one is slightly more buttery tasting, while the Spring harvest on the other hand has notes of fresh greens and veges in the forefront. It has a sweetness to it that reminds me of snap-peas right off the vine. Good stuff.
Revisiting this 5 months later, I am now picking up a very tasty chestnutty flavor that I am really enjoying.
Preparation
This tea simultaneously lifts me up and relaxes me. I was just listening to David from Verdant Tea’s podcast where he talked about the relaxing benefits of tea and it was like a light turned on. No wonder I started drinking tea so long ago — it relaxes me. Of course.
This tea is absolutely no exception. I know I’ve written about it before but it deserves to be raved about. It is impossible to oversteep this lovely tea. I have been drinking cup after cup, with the leaves just floating around there willy-nilly, and have been having a euphoric tea experience.
I didn’t have the best morning and this tea turned it around! Comforting and elegant at the same time. It’s surprisingly energizing, too. I can’t recommend this enough.
Thank you so much Terri HarpLady for sharing this one with me !
And even a double thanks as Terri sent me a second parcel because the first one has been lost.
I wanted to taste this tea for ages. Loving bergamot and loving rose I was sure it was a tea for me. And was right.
First, it’s a lovely tea : the blend is full of petals of rose, exactly as on the picture here.
The scent of the dry leaf is fantastic: rose & citrus
After brewing, the liquor is darker than I thought, amber.
The dominant taste to me is rose and behind bergamot.
I don’t get the chocolate, sorry but not a problem as I am not the hugest fan of chocolate in tea (especially because it never equals a real cup of hot chocolate to me :) )
The tea base (which is more than a tea base as it seems to be one of the best seller of Verdant) is absolutely fantastic and welcomes ideally the flavours.
I am in love really, the kind of teas I would have every day without problem.
Preparation
I was going to take a break from buying tea for awhile, as I have way too much and my kitchen cupboard is overflowing into my room. I’ve been curious about this tea for awhile though, so I ordered some, haha.
In the bag it smells like dark chocolate. Also, the scent is roasty/toasty, and kind of reminds me of laoshan black, but the taste is a bit different.
Steeped western style- 195F at about 30 seconds to a minute. No sweetener.
On taste it reminds me a bit of dark roasted coffee, classic tea flavor, toast, and there also is a nice hint of sweetness that comes through on the aftertaste.
2nd steep – boiling water for a couple of minutes, 1 teaspoon of sugar -
The first steep was good, but this is even better. I don’t know if it was the higher water temp., the sugar, or the longer steeping time, but the flavors are more pronounced this time. Caramel notes peek their way out. Usually I prefer to use lower water temps when brewing, but this tea seems to be an exception.
Finishing the bag (about 200f at 3 minutes), I like a somewhat long steep with pretty high temps, it brings out the natural sweetness in there, and doesn’t seem to get too harsh.
Preparation
I just used this for a staff tea party at my work and it was a big hit! I am actually not a huge fan of the flavor, but the flower that blooms is wonderful! The picture doesn’t do it justice. I also showed some children this tea and they thought it was magic. It really is lovely. Even though I didn’t love the taste, the ladies at my work did (or were perhaps being polite) so that’s a win. Try out this tea! I liked it more than other flowering teas I’ve tried.
To sum up this tea: If gorgeous was a taste, this tea would be it!

LOL, okay okay, I’ll write more. This tea is good and the silkyness is just wow! I love floral teas and Yunnan White Jasmine was just pure art. If I had more, I wouldn’t drink my other white jasmines! Wahh!
Preparation
Wow, this really does smell like chocolate and chamomile. Don’t think I’d have ever thought to combine those two things, but it’s pleasant here. I’m also smelling some mint and…I think fennel? Tastes as cooling and sweet as it smells. Reminds me of the best, most therapuetic elements of Stash White Christmas (my go-to sickie chickie elixir), but instead of a medicinal tinge there’s chocolate-y sweet richness. Novel—comforting but also exciting.
This grows on me more and more the longer I drink it.
Preparation
I just ordered some of this on Monday, I can’t wait to try it. It really sounded like a unique combination.
My UPS man showed up with my order just after I posted that. I’m trying to work my way though all of my Verdant samples this weekend before I leave town so I can place another order while I’m gone (and hopefully come home to more tea). My grandma called to tell me she dropped a birthday surprise in the mail so my tea buying ban is officially off.
Finally! Finally, finally, FINALLY!
I got to try this. And it was perfect. I have a fetish for Yunnan golds in general….but now I have one for this tea in specific. After nearly two years of people extolling its virtues, it finally made it into my cup. It was honey-ish, malty, floral, and teagasmic in all the right ways. Definitely worth the hype.
Even better was the conversation it invoked. You can find that here: http://steepstories.com/2013/05/09/golden-fleece-feast-fest-a-taste-of-eugene-and-tea-from-neighbors/
Preparation
This tea is like a favorite sweater, or a particularly comfortable blanket, or snuggling down into your bed after a long day. It just breathes comfort and goodness.
It’s been my go-to during tough times. It makes me smile, which puts me back into an upbeat and cheerful place. Can a tea be magic? If so, this one is.
My only complaints are that I burn through it so quickly and how the taste changes on resteeping. The first cup is heaven, then it develops a coffee-like flavor. If you are trying to make the switch from coffee to tea, then perhaps add this one to your shopping list.
This tea is so good. So. Good. I’m not usually a frequent black tea drinker, but I’m finding myself drawn to this one more and more. Thank goodness I ordered more or I’d be miserly with it! How can a black tea smell and taste like fresh-baked brownies? I don’t understand but I’m in love! Try this tea!
