World Market

Meghann sent this to me and I want to THANK HER VERY MUCH!!!!!

This is the first time I have ever tried anything from World Market! Plain and Simple it’s bagged Jasmine Pearls! It’s a fine cuppa! A bit on the lighter side of things but still nice, relaxing and more of a sweet-floral than overly floral Jasmine. It doesn’t leave a bad aftertaste like some Jasmine’s do.

This is nice but not overly memorable! I enjoyed it tho!

Very smooth; overall earthy aroma and taste.
Flavor Notes:
•Leather
•Cedar (woodsy)
•Subtle hint of mushroom.

Aroma:
•Leather

Grassy similar to bamboo; overall very vegetal aroma and taste.

Flavor Notes:

•Artichoke

•Very subtle hint of a honey finish (sweetness).

Aroma:
•Artichoke

•Very subtle hint of honey or honeysuckle light in the background.

(Note: I’m more of a Puerh and Oolong tea drinker. Someone that enjoys a Chinese Green Tea, might favor this tea more.)

Light and crisp; overall floral and subtly sweet grassy aroma and taste.

•Slightly sweet honey finish
•Very clean bamboo finish with a slight sweetness that lingers (for several minutes) in your mouth after you’ve finished your cup.

•Subtle hint of honey.

This Oolong tea is pleasantly light in flavor, it’s smooth and refreshing. None of the flavor notes stand-out too much.

All of the flavors I mentioned are subtle and gently overlap each other from the second you take your first sip until your last, creating a nice ‘middle of the road’ Oolong tea.

The floral notes are more up front in the first steeping, and by the third steeping the grassier, bamboo flavors are more apparent.

The best part about this tea is the clean (almost sweet) lingering flavor that stays on your palate long after you’ve swallowed your last sip.

Other notes:
Light amber color liquor. Nutty and slightly vegetal aroma on first steeping that gently fades to a more floral one.

My first white tea. I really enjoy the light taste…no bitterness at all. I got 3 full steeps at 4, 5, and 6 minutes

Very smooth and soothing shu. It’s like my chicken soup :)

Slightly bitter to start but leaves (no pun intended) a nice aftertaste. Would probably be incredible with steamed milk. and possibly plopped into an espresso/americano to make a latte.

Found a bag of this floating in my work cupboard this morning. I really do enjoy this tea. It’s fairly light on pomegranate flavor, and the white tea is easily tasted. Slightly buttery, but very smooth and enjoyable. This is one that’s good even after your cup gets cold!

I’m no expert, in fact this is the first time I’ve tried pu-erh tea, and had no idea what to expect when it came to the flavor. It is very different than green, black, or oolong tea. It has a smell that is a bit like hay, with a flavor that reminds me of almonds, and is very smooth with no strong aftertaste. I was pleasantly surprised, but that sort of hay-like smell put my husband off drinking it because he spent too much time shoveling hay in a barn in his youth. All the more for me!

Tried brewing it at 2 minutes rather than 3…I think I like it much better! Brews up very light, and not very strong on the floral (which is good, since I actually hadn’t intended on grabbing this tea out of my drawer).

Second infusion of these leaves. I like it much better than the first! It’s much darker, and the tea is much richer. I can taste more of the green tea, and then the sip finishes with a light jasmine taste. Very nice!

I cut open two bags and put them into my Breville. First infusion is a very light-colored brew. The jasmine is mild, and the green tea is delicious. I really like this! Curious to see how further infusions will taste.

Good, but not great. About what one would expect from a world market tea.

I’ve made this tea before, but this time it has a slightly bitter taste to it. I’m not sure what that’s about, since I made it the same as always. Hmm.

The aroma is really yummy, but the flavor of the tea is pretty light. I feel like this would be a good tea to try if you’re curious about what Bai Mu Dan tastes like but don’t want to go to the trouble of ordering it online (since you can get it for an okay price at World Market). Bai Mu Dan definitely has a really unique taste that I’m never really sure how to describe and I think this tea is a decent sample of it.
