104 Tasting Notes
I’m a big fan of this tea. It steeps to a nice golden brown color, has a great aroma, and a smooth taste that doesn’t overpower with bitterness, but still packs plenty of punch.
Steeped for about 6 minutes this time, and the flavor was much stronger. Just a hint of bitterness and a fantastic, earthy flavor that makes this a great black tea for a morning wake-up.
The tea I got had been steeping for a while, so it has a bitter taste that doesn’t compliment the flavor. Will give this one another try.
Good, but not great. Wanted something special out of the Pumpkin Spice tea, but the pumpkin smell is much stronger than the taste, and it ends up being a pretty normal cup of black tea with a slight hint of pumpkin and spice. Maybe bump up the steep time and add milk? As suggested though, this was not a winner.
Half the fun of this tea is just watching the pearls unfurl as the tea steeps. The unsteeped pearls have a very strong earthy/smoky/gun powder smell, but sadly that doesn’t all transfer into the final cup, as the tea itself is on the bland side. It does make a nice, dark tea, but I could go for a stronger, earthier taste. That said, it’s not a bad tea, I just wish it had a stronger flavor to match the appearance.
When I first smelled this tea, I was worried that it would taste like a Jolly Rancher, but it was a surprisingly pleasant tea with a nice sour taste that makes it fun to drink.
I’m not sure why they call the scent of this tea ‘delicate’, because it’s a big and bold aroma that is only slightly diminished by a 7 minute steeping. There’s a bit of a medicinal taste to it, but in a good way. It also has a great color, and a strong jasmine flavor that’s not too sweet, but pleasantly soothing.
I LOVE this tea, but I’m a fan of big, bold, sweet teas, so that’s no surprise. Great fruity flavor and a fantastic aroma, so if you like sweet teas, then this one’s for you!
Surprisingly mellow flavor for how dark the color is and how strong the aroma is.
Aroma reminds me of toasted rice. Nice, golden color and a smooth taste. This one’s a winner.
