Got this in a swap but can’t remember from who! I’m sure it was a northern Canada friend.

I’m a ginger lover in food so this tea was perfect for me. I’ve had it awhile so it tasted a bit “light” probably just from age. I only have one more cup to make but I’d love to order some and mix it with other teas!

I found the ginger smooth and not too overpowering/hot. I didn’t get as much of the tea base shining through but that’s not what I was looking for it to do..so yay!

Thanks swappie!

TeaWings

Heyyy if you like a bit of ginger in your tea we’ll have to do a swap & I’ll send you some THÉ DES SIGNESCHEVAL I just got from MF.. Will post a tasting note for that in the next few days, one of the first ginger teas I’ve enjoyed..

darby

Great! Thanks! I haven’t tried that one yet or even heard of it!

Thanks ifjuly for this sample in our Fall Exchange! I was quite surprised by this tea. Upon opening it smelled very sweet and like dessert. Turns out to be a bit smoother than expected and does not need sweetener. It smells way sweeter dry than brewed, so don’t be scared. I didn’t expect the coconut to shine thru but it did! Not too much thou, just right. I’m tempted to try the Golden Moon that ifjuly mentions too.

If I was ordering from American I’d add some on this in.

ifjuly

Aw, I’m really glad you like it! (:

ifjuly

oh, and i’m sure i’ve said this a zillion times, but the golden moon is good too if you like coconut, but different—it has a cleaner, brighter/fresher coconut flavor, less creamy.

Wow! This is the first chocolate tea that I’ve had that actually tastes like chocolate! The raspberry doesn’t taste fake and the tea is just SMOOOTTH……

This is my first White Lion tea and was a sample sachet even! I’m thinking I might need to place another order before their low shipping minimum ends for June.

I love everything about this tea and could have it everyday for a nice dessert tea.

Purchased this when I traveled to Austria in 2010. The tea is still as good as day one. It is a nice smooth black tea with chocolate and vanilla flavors. This tea tastes just as good as it smells. Since I only had about 10 minutes before the shop closed that day, I had to make very quick choices…..I think I did pretty good! Definitely a good after dinner dessert tea. I’m possibly going to go back the end of 2014 so now it’s my goal to finish off all I bought there before I go back.

Yum Yum Yum! I am NOT a mint in tea person. I received this as a sample and it just smelled so good! The taste is just as fulfilling. A nice creamy smooth mint flavor. I will definitely be buying more!

Got this in the March newsletter. I’m quite shocked at the reviews because I loved this! The dry tea smells of heavenly sweet strawberry. The brewed tea has the same flavor as the scent. I didn’t even need sugar! I brewed it in a 16oz cup but I think I’d prefer it stronger so using 8-12oz next time.

My Grandma served this to me last night (in bag form). I was completely amazed that it was this good! I’m going to order some loose online now to compare. I loved that the orange and lemon had a nice light balance. In the meantime I picked up some bagged from Target and have made 3 cups already.

BTW – has anyone seen that Target now carries Harney and Sons in tins!!!

Josie Jade

Oh my goodness, I haven’t seen that Target has Harney’s, but I will check the next time I am in Target. I hope my small little town has it, that would be wonderful!

darby

It’s so cool…they had like 6-8 different ones! I got green tea with Thai flowers

Claire

Woah, Target has Harney?! I wonder what the SF store has…

fermataleaf

Yep. I bought a ginger tisane from Harney a while back at Target. I couldn’t believe it either.

Another road trip is in order then…

Got this tea for Christmas along with the Merlot and Green Tea one.

I was quite surprised by this tea – it’s very complex. I have to say the smell kinda put me off as it has alot of cherry to it. The flavor still has the cherry but it’s more of a smooth taste. I didn’t get any cinnamon coming out for this steep so maybe this cup just had more cherry in it. I really like cinnamon so hope next time will reveal it.

I can’t wait to try it again and resteep (didn’t think to save my leaves the first time). I’m not quite sure if it’ll make my repurchase list but it was definitely worth getting.

I’d definitely recommend this if you like darker complex teas that are smooth.

Thank you as I’m dying to try this type of tea. I like your saying about the cherry undertones. I’ll check with my supplier and see if he has it. I’m much obliged. Lee

Leeflea

Oh, pardon me, I thought this was a tea instead of a wine which is even more the better. I am sipping some eau de vie framboise at the moment. Are you familiar with it? Lee’

darby

That Lee! I was trying to find this post earlier today and couldn’t! Oh yes, this is tea. They have a series of 6 (I think) teas that are all based around a type of wine.
If you want, I can swap you some as I have plenty left.

Leeflea

Good it’s tea then. Thanks but I’ve nothing to swap except the exotic teas I got from my friend at the Tea Embassy in Austin, TX. If you’d like to know the names of them, which I don’t, let me know and if it’s acceptable to you, we’ll see what we can work out. I have 54 pks. RSVP. Lee

darby

Sure, I’m open. I’ll follow you – you’ll have to follow me so we can message each other.

Menghai 2009 Red Aura Pu-erh has a very smooth Cabernet type flavor naturally. Almost something between that and a Paso Robles Zinfandel which is more bright, ripe and jammy to me.
It’s quite inexpensive and delicious. 100 gr is around $8.

Had this with dinner tonight. I love jasmine and this tea had a nice smooth jasmine taste. I didn’t need any sugar with this tea. I was very excited about the jasmine so I didn’t pay enough attention to the other flavors which I will do next time.

I’ve never had a tea from Verdant that wasn’t good!

Before I continue this review, my last on for the free matcha program, I just want to say a big THANKS to Red Leaf Tea for encouraging us all to drink more matcha. They have provided us with such wonderful flavors and creative varieties that we will never be satisfied with normal matcha again! I hope to see more new flavors from their creative minds. THANKS RED LEAF!!!
I don’t think I’d be a girl if I didn’t love chocolate. I don’t think anything could be better than matching raspberry with chocolate. My sister-in-law buys these chocolate covered raspberries (in bulk!!!) and so I ordered this matcha hoping that it would satisfy me enough so I wouldn’t steal her stash and become 400 pounds! I opened this matcha and was pleasantly surprised to smell chocolate! I couldn’t seem to smell the raspberry in it. I put it into a tin to keep it fresh, if it’ll make it very long. The small size fits perfect in the tin with a little wiggle room…enough to be able to get the measuring spoon in.
I really wasn’t sure how I wanted to prepare this matcha. I ordered the black matcha as I thought it would compliment the chocolate. First I prepared it with just 1 tsp matcha and 16.9oz of water. It was ok, but not really what I was looking for. I seemed to get more chocolate from it this way and not enough raspberry flavor. SO, next I heated up some milk, added a bit of sugar and frothed it up into a latte. Now here is where I get more of the raspberry. It’s a nice creamy truffle.
On a side note, I’ll be learning to make truffles from tea as a local tea shop this week so maybe I’ll be able to use what I have left in making a tea truffle! You can never go wrong with chocolate and raspberries that don’t make you gain weight.
THANKS again Red Leaf for another wonderful matcha creation….keep’em comin’!
Here is how I ordered my Raspberry Truffle Matcha from Red Leaf Tea:
Size: Small
Quality: Black
Flavor: Delicate
Storage: Air tight refill flat pouch – would definitely recommend purchasing a tin for your matcha to keep it fresh. I did not order one this time since I already had a tin.
