drank Amandine Rose by Teavana
2201 tasting notes

This is one of my older teas and although I do still enjoy it, I’m not as in love with it as I once was. Partly it could be the tea aging, which it certainly has, but I’m also going to blame it on refined tastes and the fact that I have a rose/almond tea that I love more these days.

I wonder how this would cold steep? Teas with spices often taste wrong to me when cold steeped, but I do enjoy almond and rose in cold steeps. Guess there is one way to find out!

Flavors: Almond, Pastries, Rose, Spices

Which rose almond tea do you like better? I just discovered Fauchon’s La Naissance and am sadly in love, I was wondering if there were any similar, more accessible teas out there!

OMGsrsly

I think Dammann Freres has a cheaper almondy tea like Naissance. Maybe.

Dinosara

Unfortunately, my favorite rose almond tea is La Naissance! I haven’t found any that come close that are more accessible, and this one is discontinued too. Rose and almond are tough!

Amande Amaretti is pretty good but it’s just almond (no rose) and it’s also just a lot less nuanced blend. Doesn’t really replace La Naissance for me. I did recently come across another Dammann tea called Amore that has almond and rose, but also chocolate and bergamot. I’m planning on ordering some after I move in July.

Bio

I am tea obsessed, with the stash to match. I tend to really enjoy green oolongs, Chinese blacks, and flavored teas with high quality bases, especially florals, bergamot-based teas, and chocolate teas.

In my free time I am a birder, baker, and music/movie/tv addict.

Here are my rating categories, FYI:
100-90: Mind-blowingly good, just right for my palate, and teas that just take me to a happy place.
89-86: I really really like these teas and will keep most of them in the permanent collection, but they’re not quite as spectacular as the top category
85-80: Pretty tasty teas that I enjoy well enough, but definitely won’t rebuy when I run out.
79-70: Teas that I would probably drink again, but only if there were no preferrable options.
69-50: Teas that I don’t really enjoy all that much and wouldn’t drink another cup of.
49 and below: Mega yuck. This tea is just disgusting to me.
Unrated: Usually I feel unqualified to rate these teas because they are types of teas that I tend to not like in general. Sometimes user error or tea brewed under poor conditions.
