What do you want in Steepster Select?
I think you should have authors of various books about tea do weekly or monthly columns stating what they recommend or explaining a certain aspect of a tea or preperation in their own words.
I buy from a company called Tea Trekker a lot and swear by their teas. They have written a book called The Story of Tea, which is the most informative book I have ever seen and I have seen them write articles for other sites.
They are very personable with their customers(I live in PA and they are located in MA but take the time to personally respond to questions I have), so I think they would be up for it.
What a great site! I just checked it out and added myself to their mailing list. Their new book looks cool – The Tea Enthusiast’s Handbook – it sounds like something I’d need. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah, it is a great site. I live in Pennsylvania and their shop is located in Northampton Massachusetts and whenever I order any tea from them I always receive it in 2 business days. They are very fast, which shows me that they care as much about their online customers as they do about their local customers. They also aren’t too busy to answer any of my questions, no matter how dumb.
I luv the idea of literature…bring it on! And now for the less practical side of me…how about ‘tea shirts’?
I like all the suggestions about tea literature. I love tea, and I love reading and learning. Why not combine? :)
I’m a fan of Hina’s Tea, I think they’d make a great addition to the Select area. They are somewhat local to me (Sacramento CA area), and the people there are very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. Oh, and they have great tea too hehe.
Edit: Oh and The Tea Fountain is quite nice too! www.teafountain.com
Fine T 4-Cup Gourmet Tea Machine and Samovar’s Matcha Mill (could also be great future contest item ideas).
A deal on The Simple Leaf’s Dawn would be cool. It’s such an amazing tea; I think that everyone should have the opportunity to try it! More people might be willing to buy it if it is at a cheaper price.
If Dawn does get put up on Select with any sort of discount, I am buying a lot more of it. I wish they offered a size between 100g and 1lb, though…
Actually, The Simple Leaf has wowed me so much with the three that I’ve tried that I’d probably get about half of their offerings if they offered a discount on them, even though I am far from being out of tea.
Dawn is the only tea from The Simple Leaf that I have tried so far. I’m done ordering tea for a while now, but I really want to explore more of their stuff once my wallet has had ample time to regenerate.
I’ll buy more of Dawn whether it’s on Select or not, it would just be a nice bonus!
I’d only buy from The Simple Leaf if they had a VERY VERY good discount. I checked the shipping cost to Canada and it was $20 flat, which is outrageous IMO. I’d really be interested in trying out Dawn even at its high price though.
The Simple Leaf does have a discount code: simple20 . It gives 20% off, but I think it only works on your first order with them.
Thanks for the info, but I couldn’t seem to find where to put in the coupon code. I’ll keep looking though.
Biscottea (a brand of shortbread with tea in it) would be nice. http://www.biscottea.net/
It comes in mint, honeybush, chai, earl grey, and blueberry white varieties.
