How many cups of tea in a day?

On weekdays/workdays, I drink coffee first thing in the morning at home, then I usually enjoy a cup of tea during the day from a shop, and then another after dinner, at home. On weekends/non-workdays, anything goes!

We are doing a gift exchange here at work for the holidays, and I keep hinting that I’d like a little electric kettle for my desk. If I wind up with another gift, I think I’ll treat myself to one after the holidays so that I can make and not buy my daytime cup. I much rather spend that money on loose tea :)

I just got an electric kettle for my desk, and I LOVE it. As do my co-workers who keep making cocoa and instant coffee with my hot water. :)

What kind do you have? I have an inexpensive Presto on my wishlist, but if I wind up getting it myself I might be able to invest a little more.

I usually drink 3-4 cups while I’m at the office and 1-2 cups when I get home. Of course, I tend to drink more tea in the winter to try to warm up.

I’ve recently been making the change to drink more tea. So these days, I’m drinking about 4-6 cups at work, and then 1-4 at home. These are a variety of types – herbal, black, green, red, and mate.

That’s hard to measure for me. I go through moods, so my average changes from time to time. Also, much of the tea I drink isn’t in a regular cup, it’s prepared in the gong-fu way, and those cups are tiny.
I have been at a point where I was drinking six or seven POTS of tea a day… I miss those days.

From now on I’m gonna count infusions and not cups as I’ve learned Japanese have different serving sizes (I’m not sure about other types of tea from Japan or other countries). Premium Sencha is served in 2-3oz amounts what I used to think of as a “cup” (6oz) will be the equivalent of 2-3 infusions.

Anywhere fm 6 to 10 cups a day. Some days I will drink only one type of tea all day long and another I will experience a variety of teas…moods, the wind and shelf life dictate sometimes.

Hm, let’s see. A black when I get to work, and sometimes another black before lunch. Then at least 1 green or herbal or oolong before I leave work; sometimes two. And I usually brew 2 pots at home at night, which are, what, 3 cups each?

So somewhere between 6-10?

Probably around 2-3 a day. Sometimes only 1-2. I’m still trying to gauge how caffeine works on my system, and I’m still very cautious about it (I’ve got a lot of stomach problems and I’m afraid sometimes to dump too much caffeine in at once).

Ah the blessings of resteeping:) I know what you mean though. I’m ok caffeine wise drinking true tea all day if I resteep, but the extra scoop in my morning bowla matcha REALLY set off my stomach for a few hrs. The texture of the last sip didn’t help I’m sure.:)

I drink 1-4 during work, 1-2 when I get home, and sometimes an herbal or caffeine free tea in the evenings. Sometimes more and sometimes less.
