Red Leaf 60% off

Red Leaf has restocked their 60% off section: http://www.redleaftea.com/matcha-tea/sepecial-offer-matcha.html#.VN0823YsFnE

I think I snapped up the last of the items they were clearing out last time, so here’s another chance :)

That is sooo tempting…. I really should finish what I have first. I would have gotten the chocolate but that was out..

Hoooly cow. I must’ve bought the last of the chai and the berry matcha. That’s bananas. So worth it, though.

I didn’t realize until I had bought the caramel popcorn matcha that it was the red matcha. Whatever, it sounds pretty unique!

I really want to try some matcha but I don’t want to have to drop the cash on a matcha bowl, whisk, and scoop etc and be stuck with them in case I don’t like it. Is there anyway to prepare it decently with household materials?

I make matcha in a wide mug with a mini whisk (electric whisks/milk frothers work well). I’ll mix it in my blender sometimes as well. Not proper but it works well for me.

I’ve found that without the right tools, clumping was my biggest issue with high quality matcha. I found a little sieve that was kicking around the kitchen and have been using that to sift my matcha which helps.

Though mostly when I drink flavoured matchas, I just throw everything into the blender for a few seconds without sifting. I also have a kitchen grade matcha which is awesome for lattes, and the powder is ever so slightly coarser than ceremonial grade, and it doesn’t have the same clumping issue.
