Longevity of teas......
Does anyone know how long you can store the following teas: green, black, oolong, yunnan…? I just discovered my black tea with lavender is dated : best before 2008…..aarrgghhh !!! I am drinking poison or like a fine wine…….

It depends on how well it has been stored. I just finished off a box of 8-year-old flavored black tea and it was fine. Most teas will lose flavor over time but can still be safe to drink. I just check for signs of mold or critters. Other than that, in my experience, if it smells ok and tastes ok then it’s usually safe to drink.
