Tea tumbler/travel mug recommendations

I bring two tumblers/travel mugs with me to work. One I drink on my drive in. And the second one I drink during the day.

In the past few months two of my tumblers broke. I need to get a new one. I found a few but before I ordered one, wanted to see if anyone had one they liked.

I do have a few requirements:
1. No glass. I do not want something that can brake easy.
2. I prefer clear. I like to see the tea. Does not have to be
3. I do not need one that keeps it hot all day. I have one of those
4. Need it to be easy to open and close as I am driving

Thanks in advance

Get a Zojirushi thermos or tea thermos. They are available on Amazon and come in several basic designs. There is a tea thermos with a steeping basket then there are regular thermoses without steeping basket. They also have large thermoses if you want to bring more than 20oz of tea with you to work. The one with the steeping basket is 16oz I think.

I haven’t had very good luck with plastic travel mugs/tumblers. I’ve tried half a dozen or so, but after about six months they either leak, are broken, or severely tea stained. I’ve switched to using mason drinking jars. Even though they are glass I’ve found them to be much more sturdy than plastic. The downside is that they don’t fit well in the cup holder of all cars. For my drive I use a contigo autoseal, although the zojirushi is a good option as well. I loved mine and wish I hadn’t lost it.

I love the contour tumbler from Teavana (I have one for home and work). They’re spillproof (in my experience) and keep the tea warm for several hours if you keep the lid closed. It has an easy push button top for open/close and can easily be used while driving. The infuser is tall to let teas expand and holds 16oz or so of water. You can get it on sale (they put it on sale a lot) for around $23 USD.

If you want one that’ll not break easy, that would be stainless steel. I’d suggest a Zojurishi, Timolino or DavidsTea’s Carry for durable.

Clear and not glass? I have one tea tumbler that fits the criteria – the T Free hourglass tumbler.

The kicker – you can’t do boiling water as it’s rated up to 200f. The problem with plastic tumblers is they lose lots of heat so they are hot to hold. They will also get scuffed over time and not look as pretty. My review http://oolongowl.com/t-free-hourglass-travel-tea-tumbler-tea-ware-review/

I got mine from Zen Tea Life, but no longer in stock, but looks like it’s on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Tea-Tumbler-Hourglass-500ml-filter/dp/B0058XV0BW
