Best Jin Jun Mei?

I’m intrigued by the sweet potato flavor in the jin jun mei sample I just received from Yezi, so I thought I’d ask… What’s your favorite jin jun mei? I found a number of people favorably reviewing Verdant’s, but they don’t have any right now.

Also, is there a nice affordable one out there? I’m not paying $30 for one ounce of tea.

The only one i have actually tasted was from Tealux, and it was fairly inexpensive, and tasted good. BUT you know the situation i am in with them right now. The place i purchased from is here; http://www.teasenz.com they have 7 ounces for $25, but i cant tell you the quality or how they ship, as i have not received it yet. But if i find it in my mailbox soon i will let you know :) hopefully it is soon, i placed the order a while ago.

Update on teasenz. after nearly a week with no email to confirm payment confirmed or shipment sent, i sent an email myself on the second. they replied with a tracking number, which diddnt work until today, updating as today being “parcel accepted”. In their defense, i DID forget to set up an account with them before placing the order. So lets just hope this doesnt turn out to be another tealux T.T
Will post another update when i actually GET the tea…

The Finest Brew has a great one.

But they also only have 12 oz left. They are clearing out their old inventory.

How is the quality of Yunnan sourcing? I am finding i LOVE all of the black/reds i try that are yunnan, and i have been thinking about putting these guys in my tea bookmarks folder.

I think they are very good quality. I’ve not had a “bad” tea from them yet.

Yunnan Sourcing . Great quality and affordable too

I second Yezi. all their blacks are really nice.

So… What’s the difference between Yunnan Sourcing and the US website? They don’t have any of these at yunnansourcing.us. Do you all order from the non-US one?

And I have a sample of the Yezi one — I like it, but… I don’t know, for the price, I want something a little sweeter.

I toss my vote in for Yezi! I just finished my stash of it the other day (cries!!) and it is still my favorite

@kristinalee We do have several in stock on the US site.

My favorites on the US site are Imperial Grade, Competition Grade and Hua Xiang Jin Jun Mei.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I am really eyeing a few of those remaining ounces of the Finest Brew’s version…

I had a Jin Jun Mei in a swap from Marcus Reed that was quite good, but Marcus gets it from someone without a website so I don’t know where to procure it. I’m sure he could be persuaded to share his source.

Let me know if you find out? I’m looking for an inexpensive source if possible.

So, are folks who are buying jin jun mei from Yunnan Sourcing using the non-U.S. site? They don’t really have much of anything left in stock at yunnansourcing.us.

I have two versions that I got from the YS China site. They are good – I’m not saying anything negative about them – but I like Tealux’s version better (I order from Tealux Canada pretty regular and have had no issues at all – my packages come in boxes) – but a couple of days ago I had some from Berylleb on Ebay and this became my new favorite.

It’s all personal preference though…..

This item seems to be on sale if you buy three items from a long list.

Unfortunately tealux’s website will automatically redirect americans to tealyra, which is where i have had problems :(

I was speaking of the Berylleb link Dexter provided.

Kimicha is amazing. Expensive, but very rich, creamy, and complex

I saw that they won a big North American tea award for that one.

Yep, and from the bit I had, it is so worth it. I just wish they had better customer service!

The Finest Brew has a wonderful Jin Jun Mei. Its very diverse and not that expensive. Its a great treat to experience.

I’ve really liked all of The Finest Brew’s teas but I’m not sure what their plan is. Their stock is low or sold out in many of the teas. Their Jin Jun Mei is great. I’ve been waiting for them to get 2011 yu wi moonlight in.

I believe they are waiting on the new harvests. I know that recently they had a large blow out sale up to 60%, but their selection was rather minimal. I’d give them about 2-3 weeks to restock, and they might be bringing in all new products.

Reasoning that I’m probably going to be unwilling to buy it at regular price, I purchased some of the remaining jin jun mei at the Finest Brew. Now I REALLY need to take a break from buying new tea… Here’s how I get into budget trouble: I’ll be like, “Wow, with shipping, this will cost me $25. For only $10 more than that, I can get a whole lot more tea in this sale, and pay no shipping!”
