Yellow Tea pu-erh

I frequently look on Ebay for tea that sounds very ‘odd’, which isn’t the best idea because a lot of bad experiences occur because of this method, and would like to swap with anyone.
I am in Tokyo for another 40+ days, but I just got into pu-erh teas and I want to try them all (I still have golden/flower, purple, and white left)

Follow me and when I follow back just shoot me a message.
I plan to send out 20-28g a person of this tea for whatever you feel like swapping, I’m not picky, just know that it won’t be sent out until mid-May when I get back.

The ‘interesting’ find is seen here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yunnan-Ancient-Tree-Leaves-Yellow-Tea-leaves-Puer-Puer-Tea-Cake-357g-Raw-P279-/400883354178?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d56828a42

That’s what they call Huang Pian, if memory serves me right. They had some of this at Crimson Lotus teas a while back. I found it enjoyable.

Thanks for that information! I am hoping that the leaf is somewhat the same size as the picture shows- that’d be really nice. I am assuming that it’s going to be very similar to a sheng but I shall find out.

Yeah very close. It has a bit more punch to it.

It is just the older leaves further down on the tree that are of lower value and less intense than the new leaves and tips. In some places the locals will sell the better leaves and drink the huang pian themselves.

It’s a Huang Pian cake, as Mr Mopar already said.

Something every pu’ligan should try at some point, I think!

I’m on mobile now and can’t (or rather, am too lazy to!) provide links right now, but both Glen of CLT and TwoDog of W2T have written excellent articles on this kind of tea. Reading wholly recommended! (Preferably over a cup of Huang Pian!)
