Bad News / Good News
Effective after the close of business next Tuesday, Zoomdweebie’s Tea Bar will be closing its doors forever. http://www.zoomdweebies.com/tuesdays/to-borrow-a-phrase-this-is-it/
The good news is, we are closing our retail shop in order to focus more attention on our online and wholesale business. This means more time for 52teas, Man Teas, My Sweet Honeybush and Southern Boy Teas. I’m thinking it might be time to start adding blends to Man Teas and My Sweet Honeybush on at least a monthly basis, maybe with some subscription options… stay tuned.
Just thought I would let you guys know. It also means we might experience a bit of turbulence with orders in the coming week or so as I get moved into our new offices, but I’m going to do my best to keep that to a minimum.
Welp, there goes the only reason I’d ever visit Kansas again. ;-)
Sad to hear you’re closing the doors…I’d say your regulars are in mourning. It had to have been a hard decision to make, but I’m happy that you’ll get more time to concentrate on your other tea endeavors.
On no, I agree with Jaime it would have been my only reason to visit Kansas. It will be a sad day but if it makes you happy and you feel it is for the best then you have my full support. Good Luck!
From a personal perspective, I am glad that you’ll be focusing on your online endeavors more, since, well… I’m in Washington with very little reason to go to Kansas other than to visit Zoomdweebies… and I don’t think my hubby would really go for that. “Gee, honey, what do you say we skip the trip to the beach and go to Kansas so that I can go to this really cool tea bar instead?” Yeah… I don’t think that would happen.
And since I feel personally neglected when your tea of the week is late (hahaha) this could be a very good thing for those of us who are relegated to drink your tea at home rather in your tea bar.
However, I do feel badly for your regular customers, because I know what it’s like to lose a favorite place like that… I hope that they will be able to also embrace the change and continue to shop with you online.
I hope that this change is a good and welcome one for you and your family.
Thanks for all of your kind thoughts. I’m totally feeling like a villain today, and at the same time I’m really excited for other doors this is going to open for us. It’s going to be a tough week or two.
Will there being a going out of business sale??
LOL While I wasn’t thinking specifically sale, I was concerned that there are oh so many flavors I haven’t tried yet- Zoomdweebies had the biggest varieTEA I’ve seen I think.
Afraid not, since we’re not actually going out of business. We are going to try to sell off the last of our Zoomdweebie’s mugs and t-shirts, but I don’t think I want to ship any of them, and I doubt anyone who hasn’t been to the shop would like a Zoomdweebie’s mug or t-shirt anyway.
I’m sorry that the store in Kansas is closing :( I’m sure your customers will miss the shop very much! Very happy that you will have more time to make more blends and work on the wholesale end of the business. Good luck!

Amanda, we still have tonight and Tuesday if you want to stop in and say goodbye. After that, I’m afraid you might lose some of your celebrity status on Steepster as “that girl that gets to go try the new tea of the week before anyone else.” But being in Wichita, I bet your packages would arrive before anyone else’s anyway, so maybe not.
