I read the book. The most interesting bits, I think, were the interview with the Taiwanese inventor of bubble tea, and the historical context on Moroccan green tea drinking habits. :-) Lots of James Norwood Pratt in there doing his thing… he certainly does get around!

I own the DVD. It is amazing to watch when you just want to relax and look at some amazing scenery. There is less talking in the film than I thought there would be… lots of silence, but the imagery is what makes it great.
