I would order the $50 worth. I placed items in my cart under $50 and the shipping was over $20. I’d rather get more tea than pay for shipping:)
Thanks Meghann thats what I was thinking too. Do you have any favorites you order?
I haven’t ordered yet, just been trying to figure out what to get. I really want to try the luscious watermelon, Pumpkin Chai and the Marsala wine tea. Actually the whole fall and wine collections look good. You’ll have to let us know what you get! I hope to order friday!
Turkish Delight is awesome, the chai guarana has me interested, cafe mocha is one of my faves, based on 52teas Buttered Cinnamon Raisin Toast I want to try the Buttered Rum, pumpkin chai (it is that season after all), Gail’s cold remedy (dying to know if it works and tastes good), Matcha Matsu and organic (never tried these, but never met a matcha I didn’t like), curious to know if the strawberry rhubarb crumble has any “crumble” to it, oooh and I’ve GOT to try the coffee pu erh and cocoa paridiso. I was just looking at the entire wine set about an hr ago. Funny. And an anti recommendation- the citron oolong as way too much citron and not enough oolong- tastes like an herbal tea.
your description of citron oolong actually makes me want to try it more. I love lemongrass and herbally citrus so I bet it would be great! (for me:)
Note, just saw it was a jasmine….probably won’t be ordering that one now :(
It is?! Well, let’s just say that A.) I’m shocked it is (red flag one) and B.) If I knew it was I personally would like it a lot more. So you may actually be ok lol.
Funny, my local B&M shop is sampling the citron oolong tomorrow.
Cofftea-based on your advice I am removing the citron oolong from my order…
The shipping thing — yeah. I’m in Newfoundland, and it has taken Purolator a week with each of my orders. Purolator needs a week from Montreal to St. John’s? This time I chose freebie Canada Post, and not only is their tracking service better … they estimate they’ll have the parcel to me in a week.
So it depends on where you are in relation to Montreal. But on the final checkout page, you do have the option to choose Canada Post instead of Purolator, and I think CP should come up free.
That said, it’s really not difficult to rack up a $50 order. :) David’sTea carries good stuff.
thanks! Do you have any favorites from David’s tea?
Yep. Love David’s Organic Breakfast (black, blend), Super Chocolate (green rooibos base) and Jumpy Monkey (mate with white chocolate and coffee beans). Also very fond of Himalyan Traveller’s Tea (much like a second-flush Darjeeling), Love Tea #7 (flavoured China black), Turkish Delight (flavoured China black) and Lemon Cream (rooibos).
Super Chocolate is a green rooibos base? I must get that!:)
Yep. Has a lovely sharp apple scent while steeping. Ingredients lifted from the DT site: Organic green rooibos, organic green tea, organic cinnamon, organic cocoa nibs, natural flavouring*. Just don’t expect a candy bar chocolate taste. SC might be my favourite tisane ever.
Also a small amount of green tea in the mix, but it can’t be very much, as SC is labelled ‘caffeine-free.’
Uh oh… mislabeling concerns me.
I wouldn’t expect it’s mislabelling, just a really small amount of green tea. The way “sodium-free” soda water can still have a tiny amount of sodium in it.
SC has never interfered with my sleep. I drink several cups of it throughout the day.
Maybe check this with the DT people? I’ve found them pretty helpful online. You’ve got a point.
I don’t think the sodium thing is fair either lol. Already in the process of checking it out.
Cofftea, please keep us posted. I totally missed the SC green rooibos when I ordered (how, I’ve no idea), but I don’t want even a hint of caffeine in my rooiboses (rooibi?).
Rooibi! HAHA… ouch… laughing hurts today! Well even decaf green has ~5mg so you’d get a small fraction of a gram in a blend made w/ decaf green.
@Michelle, did some investigating… where do you see it listed as caffeine free? I can’t find it- although it is organic which is sweet.

On the label of the big 250g bag I ordered, it said ‘caffeine free.’ I remember being surprised and thinking: —Cool, another plus for Super Chocolate.
Unfortunately it isn’t though.
Can’t help you, since I just placed my first order with them! I got the Fall collection, Buttered Rum, Oh Canada, Swampwater, and Lime Bang. Debated the Wine collection, and kind of regretting not going for it. Can’t wait to try them!
Ooh, buttered rum…yum! Do they give a shipping estimate time frame? Curious to hear how long they take for US deliveries.
I haven’t gotten the estimate yet…I’ll probably get an email from them today about it. I had some issues with ordering on the site (most likely user-error), and have been emailing one of their employees back and forth. He’s taking care of everything for me. I’ll let you know how long it takes!
Just to let you know I placed my order last night and this afternoon I received an email that they shipped it already… no delivery estimate but I can track it via Canada post to the US so i will let you know how long it tastes to get here. The website says 3-5 days but I am not sure if that is just if you are in Canada.
Ok I broke down and placed my first order- I ordered Buttered Rum, Pumpkin chai, gunpowder taffy, Read my Lips, Oh Canada, Mothers Little Helper, Banana Nut bread. Anxious to try it! I was tempted by the wine collection but will order that another time because I want to order the Republic of Tea Red Velvet!! :) Thanks for the comments!
Bound to be something you like in there.
Please pot about the Hot Buttered Rum. I want to try that but can’t justify an order right now.
I’m interested in ordering from David’s Tea.. but there are so many flavors I want.. and I can’t justify spending lots of money on tea at the moment. I’ve been wanting to try the tiramisu tea, but I can’t find it on the website. Is this a retired flavor or am I missing the page?
I wish that they had smaller sizes so that you could try the flavors instead of buying a $6-7+ bag of tea without knowing if you’ll like it. They all look delicious!
They’re including 3 samples with each online order these days, and I think you can ask for which samples you get on the comments box when you place your order. Not sure if that helps.
I think the Tiramisu was one of those seasonal teas that they yank after a few months. Mind you, if you drop them a note, they’ll probably check their stash to see if thye have any (unadvertised) left. I’ve found the customer service through the David’sTea webiste to be excellent.
I just went through this too in placing my first order with Davids. Everything sounded so good! They have some great looking combo packs that allow you to sample a lot of different flavors. You pay a small premium for the variety but you have to make fewer decisions. One of my items is the Fall sampler collection to which I’m looking forward. As an aside, I chose Canadian postal service for shipping and I’m getting emailed tracking updates from them. US postal doesn’t do that, do they?
Priority mail does, but not regular unless you specifically request it.
I know you already ordered, but here are some of my favorite teas from David’s.
Tie Kwan Yin (oolong), Pumpkin Chai, Forever Nuts (non-tea), Champagne (flavored white tea), Jessie’s Tea (rooibos). I also love their Lapsang Souchong, but some people like it and others don’t.
I’m sure you already know this, but be sure to check out the Steepster reviews. It helps when you’re kinda on the fence about what to buy.
