A special shout out to Brenden for those awesome Yunnan Sourcing teas he threw in!

I put in:
2014 Teavivre Feng Qing raw
2008 Life in Teacup Mengsong
2013 Tea Urchin Na Han
2015 White2tea Colbert
2002 Streetshop88 CNNP 7542 (probably not fake, but who knows)
White2tea Bangdong Hong (pu erh processed like black tea)
2012 Streetshop88 BanZhang Lao ManE Golden buds
2005 Berryleb Xiaguan 8663 (this is a wonderful tea if you like ripe with smoke!)
2014 Streetshop88 Langhe 7599 ripe
2001 Finepuer Golden Melon Tribute

A few of those samples are over an ounce, I hope Jim doesn’t mind if I broke the rules! But most of those teas get especially good reviews so I figured what the heck. Plus Jim is last on the list, so he can take generous samples to bring the weight back down!

I’ve got enough samples for months! Thanks everyone!

So it’s back to you, Jim. Hope you enjoy!

The box has completed its circuit.

I’m going to sort through it and try a few teas, but more or less put it on the shelf until after Labor day. At that time I will probably start another box.

I’ve been thinking of trying something that would encourage people who want to learn more about puerh. The idea would be to have a puerh/black/oolong box, with a mix of newbies and experienced puerh drinkers. The puerh drinkers would remove mostly black/oolong and add puerh while the newbies would remove puerh and replace it with black/oolong. Not sure how this would work in practice. This is just a thought; I’m open to other suggestions.

I’d rather see a straight puerh box (but the other one sounds like a good idea as well). I guess it’s due to the fact that I’ve moved firmly into puerh hoarding territory ;) Maybe limit the box contents to 85% puerh and 15% hongcha/yancha?

I like all pu’er too. That’s what sets this box apart than the other unflavored TTBs that have gone around. Maybe give a longer break for some to get new stash and then go around another lap.

The all-puerh box works better for me personally as well, but I see a lot of people trying to get into puerh and it’s difficult to get started. Problem is that while the box grew some on its journey there isn’t really enough to split into two boxes. We’ll see how the comments work out. Your votes have been counted!

Maybe someone else could start the box so that there’s a different starting variety and mailing order? Not sure if that would matter in the long run.

May I join the next round? I have a some puerhs on the way and can send the list to Dr Jim for approval to join the next round since it’s gonna take a while to update my cupboard :)

While I do appreciate the idea of mixed, I’m also imagining that the weight of the blacks and oolongs can also significantly increase shipping cost so yeah, it may be better to focus on puerh XD

I’m still thinking of a way for newbs (like me) to try a variety of puerhs without having to pay a huge tuition or face a maze of choices.

I’m also part of the here’s hoping tea box, so I’ll put some puerh into that one.

Maybe the thing to do for the next round is to be more willing to accept people who don’t have a lot of puerh, but have enough to replace what they take. I’ve just worried that people who only have a few samples wouldn’t be able to fully participate. In the last round we had someone say they would buy puerh just to put into the box, which didn’t make sense to me. I was also a bit concerned about the quality of tea that would be added by someone who didn’t know the tea. It is probably a fair trade if we look at the purpose as being partly educational.
