Lapsang souchong smell in my french press.

I just brewed some in my french press, and I still smell the leftover smoky scent from the tea, which I feared would happen. I want to brew Jasmine green tea in it later, so any ways in which I can get rid of the smell somehow?

I do have a mug infuser, but I don’t like it as much.
